"The Limit" basically sums up everything I love about this cartoon.
Namely that in the end Finn & Jake get to the asshole wish-giving snake, get set up to get screwed out of their wish and then killed... and then instead of that, they get everything they wanted, everyone lives, and they fly off into the sunset on their ancient psychic tandem war elephant.

Adventure Time is still pretty much the best thing on TV. This is a scientific Algebraic fact. I am unreasonably psyched for next week's two-parter.

Jake (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-VmBiA9tNs&feature=related) is awesome at telling jokes

Since they canceled Sym-Bionic Titan, yeah.

Wait, Titan got canceled? But I liked that show!
But yeah, I think Adventure Time and Regular Show are the best things on CN right now. Can't wait for the Litch King episode.

They screwed over Titan because they kept moving its time slot around with no warning. In just one season it was moved around atleast 2 times, one of which was saturday mornings, like this show is really fit for 8:30 am demographic

As far as I know, they didn't renew it because nobody wanted to make toys based on the show.
Despite good ratings. Blech.

Gentlemen behold this was actually in the show and not just fanart. Proof Adventure Time is the superior cartoon.

Adventure Time wins. Flawless Victory.
Here's hoping none of the children watching AT try and track down the reference though.

You're not seeing the arm, the sword and the cloth?
rpgdemon
05-11-2011, 12:45 AM
There's, at best, a vaguely passing resemblance between the two.
To be fair, it looked like the giant sword the dude was holding was a hammer to me, at first.

Obvious reference, wrong thread.
But yeah, I laughed when that happened.
Edit for rpgdemon: Obvious as in, for those of us who read comics that have been going on since I was born, giant sword+robot arm+super adventurer/hero=Gutts. Because it's super obvious and you should read Berserk (as long as you can deal with the awful, awful things that happen).

I dunno, I don't know the character(s) in question, or the context.

I've never heard of that character at all either.

I just don't know what to say. It's not like I'm ninety years old, swearing at my twenty-year-old nurse that Scooby Doo and the gang are going to find out who has been stealing my bedpan while she nods pleasantly, having no clue what I'm talking about but knowing that I'm just putting the pan on top of the drawers late at night and forgetting. This is Berserk.
Next you're going to tell me you don't know who Astroboy or Kenshiro are.

I know right? I'm not a fan of Berserk myself (said awful awful things just depress me a bit much) but I read up to and a bit past the Eclipse and not knowing about Berserk is just kind of shameful if you're a nerd.
Anyway the best thing about Adventure Time is that was not even the best part of the episode or the most messed up part (I vote for "dropsies" on that). God damn that was a hell of a finale.
And next season we get Finn dealing with same aged Bubblegum and the bizarre genderswap episode The Adventures of Fiona and Cake.

And next season we get [...] the bizarre genderswap episode The Adventures of Fiona and Cake.I know Pen was trying to get NPH for Prince Bubblegum. Anyone hear if that came together?

StuffIt was indeed an awesome finale (even if there was an episode afterward), and I look forward to the stuff you're looking forward to fist bump.
As for Berserk being depressing, keep reading. It has become a lot tamer since the artist moved on from being an angry teenager to a successful adult with a wife and kids and one of the most popular comics in the world. No body has been raped or anything for years. Also, the art just keeps getting better. You could hang almost any current page in an art gallery.

As far as I know, it has come together. Congealed, if you will.
Also, for some reason I think Lord Monochromicorn's voice should be the Hypnotoad buzzing from Futurama.

Comic Con preview for the Fionna and Cake episode! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzqahZmtCX8&feature=share)
I'm pretty stoked for this.
Not only did they indeed get NPH, they got storyboard artist Natasha Allegri (http://natazilla.tumblr.com/) (who first drew the gender-swapped characters last year) to sing the alt. intro!

love it, except, maybe its just me but the voice acting seemed lack luster. Except the prince, he was perfect

Ice Queen was great, too.
Is it just me, or does she seem way more dangerous and competent than Ice King?

love it, except, maybe its just me but the voice acting seemed lack luster.I kinda thought so too at first, but then I watched it like 5 more times and it started to grow on me.
Also, I posted this in the sketch thread, but I guess it can go here too.

My Fionna and Cake fan-art, from my Tumblr.
And finally, Rebecca Sugar's demo for Jake's Tropical Island song (http://rebeccasugar.tumblr.com/post/7791794448/the-demo-for-the-tropical-island-song-chords-g). Because it's so damn great.

The scene with the little Marceline really stuck out to me.
Donomni

So I guess Marceline's been around since before or directly after the end of human civilization. And likely alone for most that time, too.
That's... really sad.

well that episode was completely awesome.
Also seemed to show that, if Ice King was serious, he could probably have killed Finn and Jake by now

Ice King-centric episodes make me uncomfortable. Because you start to kinda like the guy, and root for him, and forget that he's a total creepy creeper and, like, fifty patoots.
Also, I'm kinda interested in the stuff going on in the background of this episode. Who were the penguins taking out a hit on? What did the letter that Scorcher left mean? When will Finn and Jake notice that the Lich has been following them around this whole season?

Scorcher was pretty intense. Buncha crazy dangerous stuff in Ooh.

I have a theory that one reason humans were wiped out was because they were viewed as too powerful. Finn is 13, but one of the more powerful beings we see.
Imagine what a small group of full grown humans could do.

I personally think they were just stunted by the Great Mushroom War, and they were then left without enough numbers to repopulate. Or maybe whatever Marceline's dad and the nightosphere beings are. Then Goblins, Candy people, and the like moved in to fill the niche they left behind. I think the Ice King is a goblin too considering his nose.
