So does anyone listen to the Vinyl Cafe? I picked up a few bits at the used bookstore in town for nostalgia's sake, and it's all I've been reading recently.

For those not in the know, there's this Canadian radio show called "Vinyl Cafe," which are short stories about the members of a Toronto family - Dave, Morely, and their kids Stephanie and Sam. Dave owns a record store called The Vinyl Cafe, where the name comes from. The stories are told by Stuart McLean (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFjOEhFFxhg&feature=related), the shows have been put on CD's and in novels.

One of my current favourites is Morely's Birthday Party (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQ4t7cqCLdE&feature=player_embedded) (Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjUMa0mc6o4&feature=related)), where Morley - who hates birthdays - being fussed over by Dave - who's ordered caterers - who go to the wrong house.

The stories are long, but they're always pretty funny, and usually end on a sweet note. The shows themselves have got Canadian music and guests and talk about all sorts of things like traveling across Canada or having to pee. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7DtefkJsw8)
