I mean when I see posts like this (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1103975&postcount=1) and this (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1115199&postcount=1) and then things like this (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1128064&postcount=49) happen but I get repped for the same things from other people and now I'm just really confused.

So answer me, forum! Am I the worst person or the worstest person?

And frankly, you and Noncon are like the Tacoma Narrows; it's a bad situation waiting to happen. When I see you two interact what I'm reminded of is the time that shiney and Fifthfiend happened. Without assigning any moral weight or relative responsibility, I think we can all agree that that incident wasn't a bright and glorious moment in our history.

What I want this message to convey is that you absolutely shouldn't beat yourself up over any of your conduct, but what I think you should do is take a well-earned vacation, recharge your batteries, ace an exam, seduce a lady with a trombone, and come back with a tale of a drunken adventure.

Still, what I know from the (comparatively few) times I've run into things you've moderated, you strike me as competent enough, if perhaps harsh at times. Nothing bad enough to be called horrible at your job, though. That sort of reputation usually precedes someone, you know?

But, like I said, this is just a review based on a relatively limited group of impressions. Still, I'd say you're decent enough.

From an admin's perspective, I'm occasionally frustrated when I see you wade into an argument and happily join in without considering the very fact that doing so as a mod/admin intimidates others because you have Authority and have the potential to abuse that. However I don't see you abuse it because I haven't seen anyone punished who hasn't broken the rules. I do think you should step back if you are getting into a heated argument, even if you may feel you are in the right or justified in your position, simply because of this leadership role here.

Fenris, dude, I have no beefs with you (mainly because I'm an inconsistent, irregular poster, also because when I make waves, they are mainly waves of disgust, shame, and "do I know this embarrassing person?"), or any of the moderators, for that matter. You guys are only human, despite your responsibility to the board as a whole, you can get sucked into something. I cannot recall an incident where you lay down a judgment that I wasn't thinking "you know, that kinda sucks, but hey, that's his job." The only thing to come from the mod staff that I remember being resolutely angry about was the whole fifth-shiny debacle, and that's all water under the bridge.

If there's a heated argument going on, the way I see it, if there's insults being thrown and stuff, as a mod I think that your job is to ignore that you want to argue for one side or the other, and break up the fight. Not that I've seen you not do this, but while I'm outlining what I think ought to happen, you also have to judge both sides of the argument equally. Like, if you see some dude being a huge dick who's all, "BLAURGH MY OPINION IS FUCK FENRIS IN ALL WAYS POSSIBLE", and some other dude who's all, "HEY ASSMUNCHER YOU'RE A TERRIBLE PERSON WHO OUGHT TO GO FUCKING DIE IN A HOLE ALONE, BECAUSE THE WORLD'S BETTER OFF WITHOUT YOU", you gotta hit the guy who's being a huger jerk, instead of the dude you dislike.

Also, probably leave moderating Noncon to a different mod, since you guys do have a history of exploding at each other and escalating the thread even further into depravity. And while I don't think you're doing it consciously, you could probably be banned or reprimanded after these incidents for inciting a flame war, and attempting to get Noncon to fly off the handle, if you weren't the one handing out the bannings and stuff.

So, what I'm saying here is, man, I could go for some kitty snuggles.

I agree with IG in the sense that you should probably avoid Noncon when it comes to stuff like that (get POS or someone to handle it instead), because otherwise the two of you will probably be at each others' throats forever.

To anyone saying he should avoid me, I disagree. While I certainly think there was a lot of bias in how that thread was handled and a lot of problematic behavior that didn't get called out by mods, Fenris isn't the only person to do it, or even be guilty of the stuff I'd call him out on. Fenris and I get in arguments, but it generally has less to do with it being Fenris, and more that he's just the mod that's involved. I just generally get into fights with mods. For the most part, unless something like this is going on at the moment, Fenris and I generally get along pretty good outside the forums, too. Fenris definitely should have handled that thread better, and I've already pointed out to him the stuff I think should have been called out but wasn't, but saying that he should just get some other mod to deal with me ignores the basic fact that I just get into fights with mods all the time.

I think that when a flamewar happens and you fan the fire (I would post a picture of Twilight Sparkle poking herself in the eye into infinity if I could, but I don't have 1) the stomach, 2) the heart and 3) the picture) then that's a little unmodlike. If a discussion/argument is getting out of control, you gotta throw down some specific warnings to get it under control before bans have to happen. Posting image macros just makes things worse.
