View Full Version : "Green With Envy" or "Wokka Wokka"
I don't know if this is a remake, but if it is, it's one I can stand to see. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CloKbXtD28&feature=player_embedded) Amy Adams being silly in a romantic comedy, nostalgia... It's gonna be neat.

It's not a remake, just a new movie in the same vein as the originals.
I'm kinda surprised you hadn't heard of this before. They've been talking about making it ever since Forgetting Sarah Marshall came out.

...
I... hate it. I... As much as I loved the muppets back when I was a kid. Just from seeing this trailer, I already hate this movie.

I kinda feel like I was Rick Rolled by the Muppets.

Exactly, It just seems to go out of it's way to make you feel like you've been pranked.
I've never hated a movie this much before in my entire life. I feel like I actually hate the muppets now.
So pissed I'm tranquil and calm right now. That's how mad I am.

Overreacting much?
EDIT: Like, honestly, I think it's a clever way to sell Jason Segel being in a Muppet movie. You start watching, thinking "oh god this looks terrible and trite" and then BAM Muppets, and your curiosity's piqued.

Overreacting much?
Maybe just a tad bit.
But it feels right. This might be the only movie I'll ever be bias against.

HA!
Actually, I was surprisingly interested in this. The trailer was funny, and I have good memories of older muppet movies. I mean, there's not Tim Curry, but I'll make do.

@Kyanbu Why, though? I just don't get why it's upsetting you.
Like, can you seriously watch JUST the footage from 1:00 on and hate it?

I honestly don't know. >_< It just frustrates me. Maybe it's just the trailer.
I actually might just go see the movie once it's out just to confirm why I hate that trailer such much and if I truly hate this movie.
The Muppets have always been about trolling, about tricking the watcher so they can catch you off guard with their breaking of the fourth wall, despite the fact that you know this is totally their thing. I can understand not liking it for a variety of reasons, but really, this is the sort of thing we're supposed to want from the Muppets.
I was quasi-spoiled going into the trailer, knowing what it was a trailer for but being uncertain on what was happening so I'm like "wait what's all this bullshit where are the OH I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE"
I've very recently been on a huge Muppets kick anyway so I'm excited, though because they put so much time into messing with us we didn't get to see enough of the important stuff. So I am excited but skeptical.

Maybe that's it. Maybe it's been so long since I've seen the muppets that I forgot that trolling was their thing. That it's been so long that I didn't even expect it to happen and felt like my time was wasted half way through the trailer. Like some kind of bad rick roll gag.
So it's safe to say roughly 90 percent of this movie is not going to be that mess they showed in the first half of the trailer then.

You do realize that Friedberg and Seltzer are making another movie right now as opposed to being chemically re-castrated, right?
ALSO: For the longest time I assumed that the Swedish Chef was making fun of how Americans perceived foreigners speak (like the "Durka durka" dialog in Team America), but after passing by some Swedish students at Open House I now realize that the Chef has the most verisimilitude of any character ever.

So it's safe to say roughly 90 percent of this movie is not going to be that mess they showed in the first half of the trailer then. And even then, it won't be that bad. You can tell they really had to do some cherry-picking in the editing room to get those "scenes" to work. I mean, you can hear where the dialogue has been cut up mid-sentence in order to make it work for the trailer. (Not that most trailers don't do that anyway, but I thought it was especially noticeable here.)
