I'm sure some of you remember that way back in the mysterious age known as Two Years Ago I attempted to start an RP called Endless Sands. Thanks to my... less than friendly co-dm (who will not be around this time) the RP died before it even started. Well now I feel it's time to give it another shot.
The original sign-up thread can be found here (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showthread.php?t=34028&) and it is very long. Don't feel required to read it all since I plan on making a lot of changes.
Anyway, for those unfamiliar with Endless Sands, it was originally based on the flash animation Aladdin 3150 (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/396167) but it also draws heavily from the likes of Dune and Fallout. Basically after a worldwide nuclear apocalypse the world is reduced to oceans of sand, where small communities manage to survive through trade, and hunting water or technology, and large cities thrive by monopolizing these resources. Players will be able to play as any of the races which range from Normals to Mutants to the cyborg Tech-Nicks (details can be found in the original thread).
While that's the gist of it, if there is enough interest I plan on going through the old thread and re-working nearly every aspect. Why? Because while the thread on NPF is only two years old, the original Endless sands is closer to five years old and it could really use some touching up.
As far as plot, I will probably be sticking with the original idea of hunting down "Atlantis" (not the city, a military R&D bunker filled with top of the line pre-sands tech). Characters will be a hired by a naive noble, either as actual tech hunters or security. The naive angle is there so that you can play as pretty much any type of character you want, and just lie your way onto the team for whatever reason.
So that's about it. If there's enough interest I'll get to work on remaking the sign-up thread and we'll go from there. Feel free to ask any and all questions you might have.
