So I'm not as worked up for meself, that I can see a Pooh flick in theaters. It's just that I've got the niece, one of the coolest, cutest, most sweetarific tots coming down from Dawson Creeek (Dawson, not Dawson's) and I got her the original "The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh," when she was a few months old. Then, last Christmas, my older brother got her the full set of A. A. Milne books. Now she's coming down and - although being two years old - I think she'll have a splendiforous time.

Well, I am kinda worked up about it for myself (http://nuklearforums.com/showthread.php?t=31351), too. Because Fuck Yes, Pooh Bear.

The guy who voices him is Darkwing Duck, for Chrissakes! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgn9k9cuTjM&feature=related)

It doesn't. It does, however, come in at a close second in the Pooh line up.

Like, in this one scene, they go after Christopher Robin, who's not there. They find this note, and set a trap for the horrible "Backsoon" monster who kidnapped Christopher Robin. And John Cleese is the Narrator! (Not as good as Sebastian Cabbot, mind you, but he makes it work.) And yes, Eeyore is more clinically depressed than ever.

Oh man. I don't know if my tear ducts can handle Keane music in the meth-trip equivalent of childhood nostalgia.

You've got the whole intro again:

"This could be the room of any small boy. but it just so happens to belong to Christopher Robin." Then they do the "Winnie The Pooh" song, and it's great. Different singer, though.

And Christopher Robin gets captured by the Backson! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpiD21jtWGA)

And it starts of with Nessie. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfyjROQMdec)

As a side note, I thought it was a bit of a gyp that I read this was only 70 minutes long, but then I remembered that the majority of the audience is going to be the under 8 set, who probably can't go a half hour without hitting the bathroom or at least doing something annoying, and parents who just want shit to be over so they can take their annoying kids any place but a movie theater where they have to be quiet and still.

My only complaint is that a few of the damn parents could not find this movie in the movie theater, apparently, and brought their five year olds to Captain America.

EDIT: I'm sure the movie in and of itself is delightful, I just never understood making theatrical films for children, they should be straight-to-DVD affairs. I never stepped foot into a movie theater until I was eleven, because my parents understandably knew a theatrical experience would be wasted to hell and back on me.
