Augh, why do we have to wait a whole year? Why couldn't we have had it this year instead of Cars 2?

How sad is it that I was hoping for a Pixar-made rendition of the Zodiac Brave Story (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjYD61xP7Ys&feature=related)? Because that would be really fucking badass.
But this looks pretty neat too, I love the narrator.

First: Fuck yes. Really, has Pixar ever made a bad movie? I mean, even their ones that aren't so great are still good.

EDIT: Third: Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In Brave, a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts. Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Witch (Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.
Plot synopsis blurb thing.

Er... the first thought I had upon seeing the topic title was one of those TF2 Saxton Hale Vs. servers and his BRAVE jump.
Anyways, ontopic, I haven't been able to see nearly enough Pixar movies. I only just saw WALL-E a few months ago as it was on terrestial TV.

@Bookie. It's a common youtube bug. For some reason the View count gets stuck at around 300 for the first ... period of time I can't determine. It corrects itself eventually.

One thing that really caught my eye was how she looks. Maybe it's just me, but the shape of her face looks really different from the previous sort of look the other characters Pixar has done before. I guess it's eye-to-face ratio or something?
Anyway yes I really do want this very badly. It's been too long since we got an original Pixar film (not that the sequels are bad but MAN I am looking forward to the new stuff).

The story is about a bear. Calling it now.Heheh, well, the original title for this movie was actually:
http://www.theartofpixar.com/_lib/img/posters/bearbow_medium.jpg
So.
Also, this is the 13th Pixar feature and only the first to feature a female protagonist. So, about time there, Pixar. On the plus side, it doesn't seem that there's any sort of romantic interest character!

The trailer was pretty good. The movie will, of course, be great. The animation looks great and I can't wait to see it.
On another note, that trailer made me legitimately crave a Shadow of the Colossus movie made by Pixar. The landscapes look amazing and that's one of my favorite parts of SotC. And people who played the game, tell me that it didn't come to mind when you saw a small, cloaked figure with a bow on their back riding upon a large horse.

That's DreamWorks, bub.

For some reason, the synopsis reminds me of Brother Bear(I think "beastly curse" is what brought that thought on).
Still, I am totes looking forward to this movie, if only because they finally have a lady for the main character.

Man these movies always use "movie scottish" accents. They totally should go get a dude out of a pub in glasgow to be the narrator.

Yes.
Mulan meets the highlands meets Pixar? I'm in. But it's the hair that sells it. That poster alone raises the bar for CGI hair by several million pixels, so the technology fetishist in us is doing cartwheels. And it's so pretty, and red.

I was going to call out Craig Ferguson for whoring out his accent for competing studios, but then realized he isn't going to get any Oscar ruboff from Dreamworks alone so it was justified.

I was more laughing at Sevenshot for missing it not only after inserted a title tag giving it away to anyone quoting that post, but after you subsequently wrote a post explicitly stating in-thread that I had done so.

But I didn't see a troll tag and I still don't.
