With guest star Robert Downey Junior. (http://trailerstation.keenspot.com/)

I was late to the party with Sherlock Holmes 1, and it was - as an uneducated boob who's never read any Doyle - totally historically accurate and correct to the character I've never read about.

This looks to be about the same.

I liked the first Sherlock Holmes. I think it was a fun, competent movie. Just not "OMG!" material...

But this movie has a perpetual -1 with me because they missed the opportunity to cast Hugh Laurie as Moriarty. that would've been PERFECT. Just make the Moriarty of the first movie someone hired to be a figurehead for the real Moriarty, it even makes sense to the character!!

But this does look like a fun movie, so i'll probably watch it!

Yeah Sherlock Holmes was sweet, though this one seems to be pushing the action element a little over the edge.

I mean the first one had plenty of action, more than anything I've read from the original, but good lord it was a good adaptation. My hopes are set high for this one. He totally needs to do more cocaine, though.

What the--the first movie was easily 80% action scenes! It was like an unending blitzkrieg of fisticuffs and derring-do. I can't see how this movie isn't simply picking up where that one left off.

Anyway, I ended up loving the first one so can't wait to see this. And no, the books have like...two fight scenes total out of like two dozen stories and a couple of novels. It's mentioned that they both have martial art training of course but it's not put to much use.

What I liked the best about the first one was Holmes' guesses actually weren't automatically right sometimes despite being based on greatly circumspect evidence that wouldn't allow one to come to such conclusions instantaneously (like what happens in the stories).

Pfft, 70%.

Edit: And by pushing it I mean, shit, I don't even know who the bad guy is from watching that trailer. That guy that thinks Holmes will lose? Exploding trees? Boats?

Holmes learns the true enemy...is himself.

And by himself we mean cocaine. Please have a 30 minute sequence of him sitting in his apartment doing cocaine!

i can totally imagine a silent movie theater during a scene where Holmes is tripping and feeling sick due to his addiction and Azisien yells "WOOOOOO FUCK YEAH!! COCAAAAAINE!!"

If it happens I'll go watch it a second time and record that for you.
