Okay, so I bought a wireless router. It's not letting me set it up.

Cables are all hooked up properly (seriously, half of the troubleshooting file pertains to "Make sure you have x hooked up to y" or "Make sure AC adapter is plugged into power outlet" sort of stuff, just how stupid is the human race now?) but the setup process is just not detecting the router (even though my laptop can detect the router just fine).

I've poked around the internets, looking at the Linksys website, even deigning to ask /g/ for advice, to no avail. Anyone with any wireless network experience with the newer linksys routers?

Actually Yes I do

So your problem is that your computer can't find the Router?

First off try connecting with any other wireless device see if they have the same problem

No, see, that's the weird thing. My laptop's wireless detector CAN detect the network... but Cisco's "Cisco Connect" software apparently CAN'T, which is why I've been stuck in this lame-ass endless loop of "Start setup - Get 20% in - 'We can't find your router' - Cancel - Rinse, repeat."

Have you tried setting up the router with a wired connection?

I'm going to attempt both of those today, first the wired, then I'm going to download the software from the website (the setup CD is supposed to install "while setting up the network" which is moot if you can't set up the network :P).

UPDATE: Router has been successfully set up! And now I am no longer restricted to my ethernet cable and can freely move about the house! Wooooooohooooooooooo!
