View Full Version : Pokemon Umbral Theatre 34: The Longest RP In NPF History?

I'm guessing. I mean, this thing has lasted so long that I'm starting to wonder which will happen first: this RP ends or I die from natural causes.

Anyways, I'm going on ahead and changing the pictures here to something safer that should hopefully set us all on the right track. Our RP was getting quite a bit out of hand.

http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a469/PokemonUmbral/Poke224.jpg

There's a reason I like Pokemon Colosseum better than any of the other games. The protagonists were just hot shit.

http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a469/PokemonUmbral/Poke227.png

Pokemon Mythbusters, proving that the Pokedex was a lying piece of garbage.

http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a469/PokemonUmbral/Poke237.jpg

The good thing about the images I find is that since I wasn't the one who created them, I'm not the one who has to explain them.

Anyways, I'm going to be a lazy fucker and take a hiatus today and work on a huge post during duty tomorrow to put up Monday night, a post that does some responses, introduces yet another of Irene's friends, does the battle tutorial, and kicks off some fighting, fighting I might add that we haven't done in at least a month. Here's hoping we haven't forgotten how to fight.

Also, I hate Menarker. His puns were extremely-

*puts on sunglasses*

...Corny.

Menarker

In hindsight, I'll probably just create a girl who looks and acts like Dinner but possesses none of her powers.

And her name shall be Supper.

Whoever makes the first good "midnight snack" pun will be the one who gets her. Go!

You gotta be careful of corn at night. They can be early creepy with their husky voices and seedy appearance. Why, they even cob right out and tell you to shuck it right to your face.

=P So... do I win?
Not that I terribly care much. :3

EDIT: Ah, I see you noticed it. I deleted the post and repasted it here since you made a new thread.

I'm guessing. I mean, this thing has lasted so long that I'm starting to wonder which will happen first: this RP ends or I die from natural causes.

Also, by my count (which I did very quickly), we have had 73 discussion threads (two of them having the same number although one of those was very short due to the entire glitch that prevents the posts in that thread from becoming readable).

So yeah, this has been extremely successful by far especially considering the time frame where everything lagged almost to a stop. Glad we're back in the swing of things!

Hey, Menarker. Where do you keep the data on the PCs? Y'know, Speed 'n' such?

EDIT: Actually, nevermind, I think I found it. Carry on with your inappropriate fantasies.

EDIT 2: Going to post Tuesday night, actually. I need some additional setup time. Thought I had it all together but I guess I didn't.

Name: Donovan Forschner
Alias: Darkhawk (also his mercenary title)
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Class: Pokebrid
Pokémon Registry: Blaziken
Appearance: Stands tall like a Blaziken, with long, feathery hair. Wears what appears to be a black leather trenchcoat, a dark black shirt and black leather pants (widened at the bottom to accommodate the change in foot size and shape). Hands are covered in black gloves to conceal the claws that have formed on the fingers. Despite the splicing results the clothes do not show any signs of burns or soot.
Backstory: Led in normal life in the Hoenn region until he was 8, when his family's home was destroyed in a battle between Teams Magma and Aqua. His family managed to escape but Donovan was captured and shipped to Homnyr, where Faynoc used him for his early splicing experiments. Donovan was chosen for the Blaziken splicing, and when the results showed he was shipped back to Team Magma in the Hoenn region.

For a few months, Team Magma forces him into minor weapons training and pumps him full of prototype Rage Rockets to force him to Paradigm Shift. Eventually the dosage drove him to smash down a path out of the facility and escape.

After his escape he went to find his parents in Mossdeep City, only to discover that they wouldn't believe his identity with how the splicing changed his appearance, and he was forced to live on his own. He stayed hidden on Mt. Chimney for 3 years, before Team Magma showed up in attempt to make the volcano erupt. When Team Magma discovered he was still alive, they made an attempt to capture him, in which he got away.

Donovan's sudden reappearance on the Magma radar forced him to play a cat-and-mouse game with Team Magma for 4 years. During this time he self-taught himself in standard education and tried to gain more control of his powers. He also learned how to make himself appear almost human so he could hide in the public, which was useful since the wanted posters emphasized on his mutations.

At age 15 he witnessed the Kyogre/Groudon fiasco from a distance, and used it as a chance to assassinate a key Team Magma officer that had encouraged pursuing him over the years. With no one to run from, Donovan spent a year as a mercenary before going on a world tour where he stayed a year in each (official) region, until he's made his way to the Homnyr region.

Personality: He's pretty cold towards people and prefers to maintain a calculated mindset at all times. He is in his element when fighting alone but he does have experience with teamwork (most likely from group jobs in his current line of work). He doesn't reveal much else about himself.

What do you guys think?

Well, I already noted my approval on the pad.

Just FYI, AB, Earl has already been filled in with a summary of the story and explanation of the character classes, as well a brief look over gameplay. We'll get into the thick of it if he's accepted.

AB: Here is the Hitpoint table that you requested.

If there is anything more you need, please remind me.

Astral Harmony
09-13-2011, 06:53 AM
Are we setting him at Rank 1? I wouldn't mind if he was Rank 5 like the rest of you.

Otherwise, approved.

...

*write write write*

From now on, the Honmyr Region will be referred to as the Homnyr Region because that just sounds cooler.

As for the lack of posting, I apologize, I was really damn sick. Will have one up today, I pwomise. Well, not up today exactly (10:00 PM over here), but tomorrow morning or sometime.

If Aldurin feels like starting immediately or not, we can squeeze him into this battle. He can join the formation that has only two PCs.

EDIT: *snicker* In hindsight, I bet the things Dracorion explained to him were in the form of a threat not to touch the women he's trying to hook up with.

Dracorion
09-13-2011, 07:10 AM
Hey, I'm not Menarker. I don't need to constantly threaten anyone.

I prefer to leave it as a surprise. If he touches my hos, he dies.

Anyway, we're all actually at Rank 6. But we were thinking about having Earl start at Rank 5, so he can have time to customize his upgrades.

Aldurin
09-13-2011, 11:12 AM
Yeah, I was hoping to start rank 5, that way I could see what could be abused in the battle system for customizations at ranks 6 and 7.

As of Rank 5 he'll be 4 Pokebrid (Blaziken, Sharpedo and Ninjask) and 1 Slayer.

I don't know where you got the data for Renny's Magnezone, because it's incorrect. In Renny's bio, it's the ability Analytic. It won't matter too much at the moment though. Just informing you.

And Burkmont's slave collar is real sick... I hope he doesn't capture any of PATCA's members. >_<

Astral Harmony

Oooh hidden black text in the post. Haha, lucky I caught it.

Dracorion
09-14-2011, 12:21 PM
He's obviously going to capture PATCA members. We have too many hot chicks.

And no, you don't get to request that he can't take Lola or something. AB knows she's Renny's soul mate, so if Burkmont did take her you'd undoubtedly get her back safe, if a little impure, and in need of comfort. It'd be a nice bonding moment for both of them.

Also, AB, just a friendly reminder that you haven't responded to my PM.

Menarker
09-14-2011, 12:30 PM
I really hate your barely hidden implications of saving her a little too late.

Anyhow, soon I'll trim the character sheets for both teams and make two documents so we know who has what.

EDIT: Enclosing a folder with 2 files. One file includes the Water team's NPCs (and their pokemon) and the other is the Ground team's NPCs (and their pokemon).

Additionally, I found out that I neglected to include Mio's pokebrid moves for her Ruin forms in the actual character sheets. The Ground team sheet has included it, so you can copy/paste it as needed.

Although, there are a few moves I need to ask about...

AB: Are these basic moves that the ruin pokemon can use available to Mio as well? Some of them look pretty overpowered. Although as it is, Mio has no Ruin attacks she can use that isn't a synctech.

Narcham:
1. Spiral Dive ~ 100 Pwr, 50% Flinch, IgDef, Dark
2. Star Ray ~ 90 Pwr, 50% Confuse, 100% Hit, Ruin
3. Bloody Flurry ~ 25 Pwr, 2-6 hits, Dark
4. Terror Weapon ~ AllStat -1.

Raikner:
1. Power Bolt ~ 250 Pwr, HiCrit, Ruin
2. Dual Wield ~ 150 Pwr, 2 Foes, HiCrit, Ruin
3. Cluster Fall ~ 100 Pwr x2, 4 Foes (Random), Ruin
4. Crippling Shot ~ 250 Pwr, Target Cannot Use Phys or Spec Attacks, Ruin

Harpressor:
1. Hook Stroke ~ 120 Pwr, HiCrit, 50% Flinch, Flying
2. Corpse Clubber ~ 100 Pwr, 1-3 Hits, Normal, Requires Abducted Use or Dead Body
3. Corpse Bomber ~ 350 Pwr, 3 Foes (Splash), 1 Turn Charge, Poison
4. Abduct ~ Target Lockdown, Flying

Astral Harmony

Drac, that PM didn't really give me anything to respond to. All you told me was that you liked what you heard...ergh, read and that you were gonna tell Gem about it because you two are in bed with each other.

I keed, I keed.

Yes, Menarker, Mio can use those moves, thank you. I'll try to have everything prepped to do a post tonight as well. I pretty much finished the major thing that's really been distracting me (all that goddamned downloading) so now I can get off my ass and put more time into this RP like I should.

Dracorion
09-14-2011, 02:24 PM
Well, the PM didn't go exactly like that, but I'll clear that up when I'm not in class.

As for why we want harems, the answer is we're guys and the chicks are hot. I also have a compelling argument for the "you're not enough of a woman thing" that basically boils down to: "It's not you, it's me."

Pierce's heart is just too big, and you know how he is buying the Kimonos a dojo because they deserve nice things, wanting to give Irene the love she deserves and all that. The best way I can put it is to say that it's not fair if just one of them gets his love, and yes, I know how terrible it sounds.

... What? It's better than Menarker's plan, which is basically to trip and fall into every willing uterus and let the girls fight it out.

EDIT: Dammit, you jerk, you edited it out.

Menarker
09-14-2011, 02:43 PM
That wasn't my plan, but I'm not going to enter the argument about harems at this point.

Bard The 5th LW

Charlotte can totally teach Shannon about bravery. By the end of the self-help with a psycho, Shannon will come to the realization that she's just fine the way she is or something cliche like that and take pity on Charlotte for her insane ways.

Dracorion
09-14-2011, 03:45 PM
Unfortunately, CharlottexShannon is no longer OTP.

CharlottexDiscord is.

I mean, look at 'em. They're made for each other.

Bard The 5th LW
09-14-2011, 10:14 PM
It doesn't need to be romantic. Shannon just has to ask.

Shannon: Charlotte, can you teach me how to be brave?

Charlotte: All right, but you'll have to make a metaphorical deal with the devil. And by devil, I mean me, and by metaphorical, I mean literal.

Astral Harmony
09-15-2011, 12:25 AM
CharlotteXShannon and CharlotteXDiscord.

Nothing says that Charlotte can't have a harem as well just because she's a girl herself.

Damn. I wish Faynoc was still alive. I could make so many random shorts (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cV9oO0nqVGQ) with him.

In fact, I will.

I should be able post tomorrow. The idea behind the delay is that I want to add more to the characters (give Irene all of her SignTechs and make her Infinity Crush accessible), add a new tutorial to the guide, stuff like that.

Menarker
09-15-2011, 12:35 AM
Ok. In the meantime, we're hard at work making our posts. (Making the stats for the characters is not fun apparently).

I did the stats part. Just writing the actual post/dialogue.

Dracorion
09-15-2011, 12:51 AM
CharlotteXShannon and CharlotteXDiscord.

Nothing says that Charlotte can't have a harem as well just because she's a girl herself.

But Charlotte and Discord together would kill Shannon!

In the meantime, I'm going to put my plan and formation here for Bard and Dante to look at.

Shock Trooper: Irene
Medic: Chizuru
Sniper: Evangaleen
Engineer: Elizabeth
Destroyer: Nyoka
Vanguard/Rearguard
Pierce/Calisto
Charlotte/Laurith
Matthias/Cecilia
Sophia/Tsubasa
Mika/Rachel

[Device/Evolith Slot 1] [Unownaut] [Irene (Protected)] [Balor] [Spitz] [Rotom] [Hydreigon] [Darmanitan] [Meganium] [Musharna] [Kingdra] [Metagross] [Skarmory] [Quiksilver] [Leprihare] [Cloyster] [Matthias] [Device/Evolith Slot 2]

Unownaut: Stand behind Capstan A.
Balor: Stand behind Capstan B.
Irene: Does not act, is protected like a trainer.
Rotom: Light Screen on centered on Spitz.
Darmanitan: Belly Drum on self.
Hydreigon: Psych Up Darmanitan. Copies half of Darmanitan's buff.
Musharna: Light Screen centered on Cloyster.
Chizuru: X Defense on Irene and Balor, X Special Defense on Matthias and Cloyster.
Kingdra: Dragon Dance on self.
Metagross: Iron Defense on self.
Skarmory: Rachel switches in for Mika. Spikes on the deck.
Quiksilver: Sword Dance on self.
Cloyster: Shell Smash (White Herb consumed) on self.
Matthias: Venomoth form, Quiver Dance on self.
Thunderus: Light Screen centered on Skarmory.
Galvantula: Light Screen centered on Musharna.

Bard, Dante, thoughts?

AB, can a character who was behind the capstans go away and keep the bonus? Also, if a character gets behind a capstan, does that mean they can't act that turn?

Also, Dante, you need to decide what items Matt is going to carry, as well as a hold item.

Menarker
09-15-2011, 01:45 AM
I mentally entertained the idea that we're fighting some sort of Land Shark. More and more, I'm starting to feel I'm probably not too far off...

EDIT: Post made. I hope that it is ok.

I'd half expect Sakuya's response to Renny's apology to be something along the line of
"If I was actually offended, I would have told you... one way or another."

and the entire putting the family together as a good chance to showcase their Imperial glory or something. ^^;

Was also tempted to have Krunder destroy Mollesk's sand castle in the process later (like some bully kicking down one in front of a little kid) but decided to forget about it. You can destroy it if you want to though. :3

Aldurin
09-15-2011, 10:54 AM
You guys won't mind if I add a little post summing up Donovan's perspective? It'll be lacking in conversation since he was essentially hired right before they left the building to get to the mission.

Dracorion
09-15-2011, 11:08 AM
Nah, go ahead.

Astral Harmony
09-15-2011, 12:13 PM
No, you can't keep the bonus if you leave the object. Why would you even think that? The only way you could do that is...well, if you tore the capstan right out of the deck and hauled it off with you...

...

Brunswick: "Did that young lad just steal one of my capstans?"
Irene: "Who, Granger? Oh yeah, he tries to steal stuff all the time. Capstans, HBO, my anal virginity..."
Brunswick: "You mean your anal virginity is still intact? Cha-ching!"
Irene: "...G-...Go back to your quarters, Admiral."

But yet, you can position or reposition (remove someone from there and put somebody else there) without it affecting your real actions for that turn.

Lathiron looks like a big, narrow, oily Tympole with giant, evil red eyes that can most likely see into your soul.

As for Krunder, his form is much more amorphous considering most of it is constructed of sand drawn around that red gemstone that composes its real body.

Dracorion
09-15-2011, 12:16 PM
Okay.

Do Snipers and Destroyers benefit from bonuses that affect the entire formation, like Engineer constructs or Irene's character skill?

Astral Harmony
09-15-2011, 12:19 PM
Nope. Suck it.

Dracorion
09-15-2011, 03:20 PM

I thought it was the best way to describe how Ground Team was overbuffing themselves.

Dracorion
09-15-2011, 04:23 PM
Anyway, AB. Just thought I'd mention that how Chizuru responds to Pierce is actually somewhat important.

I think, though, it should be obvious he's totally wrong.

Menarker
09-15-2011, 05:39 PM
@Donovan: Just to let you know, it is kinda traditional in this RP to put Italics on anything that your character is actually thinking out loud.

Kinda make it easier to seperate anything that is actually said out loud and what isn't.

We also use all-Bold when the character is actually sending a message or a note/memo/email or something that isn't real time.

Just so you know.

Bard The 5th LW
09-16-2011, 04:13 PM
I acutally assigned Rotom as mow Rotom, not wash rotom. Unless you think that'd be the better choice.

e:nvm, i see its been fixed now

Sorry, must've gotten it confused with Sophia's Rotom.

Also, Spitz veteran stats don't seem accounted for. Although I'm not sure if they do actually take effect yet.

Dracorion
09-16-2011, 04:52 PM
Well, I'm not sure if you're customizing Charlotte's upgrades, or how. So I'm kinda going by standard.

And as standard goes, Charlotte doesn't get a second Xth-level until Breeder 2. That is, Rank 7. That is, after this mission.

Bard The 5th LW
09-16-2011, 05:02 PM
A'ight

Astral Harmony
09-17-2011, 04:02 AM
All I'm going to say about Chizuru is that she will be played according to her character. Beyond that, I make no promises. Hopefully, it should turn out favorably but I haven't seen the post yet.

RP post to be completed tomorrow.

Menarker, would you happen to have your own documented form of the ranks and the powers recieved at each one? I have one myself but I'd like to look at something I'm sure everyone has seen to get some corrolation, especially if I'm going to work on the demon ranks.

Menarker
09-17-2011, 04:11 AM
I only have the old one for upgrades in general. I don't think I got anything more recent for that.

You can find it right here if needed be along with some of the older outdated details and some stuff like Ruin pokemon.
http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1086515&postcount=11

My own current character upgrades are detailed in my character bio.

Astral Harmony
09-17-2011, 05:27 PM
Ah. Looks just like mine, then. Right, thank you, I feel better.

Dracorion
09-17-2011, 05:50 PM
Right, AB, I just want to say that you don't have to respond to my PM. It was a spur-of-the-moment overreaction.

I'm going to take like a week to cool off before picking that back up.

Astral Harmony
09-17-2011, 07:28 PM
Sorry 'bout that. I'll make sure a response is done.

As for the RP post, don't expect one today even though I'm trying to get one done today. The new system combined with two battles at the same time is...well, it's a monster, to be honest. But at least once this one is done, maybe the others will be able to be done sooner? I dunno.

EDIT: Actually, it should be done today. Starting to get the hang of this.

Dracorion
09-18-2011, 11:28 AM
Okay, so I added Matthias to the detailed character list in my post.

Also, AB, is Spikes affecting the Skuldrurs, or do we have to kill them and let them get replaced to have it take effect?

Menarker
09-19-2011, 03:34 AM
Ok... AB, I got several questions.

1: Does Krunder's Sand Scourge give rock types +50% special defense as is normal when they are in a sandstorm?

2: During horrible weather conditions, I know you said that Destroyers and Snipers can't target the enemy. However, can they target their allies during this time frame for whatever reason such as buffing techniques?

3: Could Takano's "Snag Shot" feasibly capture one of the Delstus and thus provide us with the stats for said ruin type pokemon?

And for everyone... reading pleasure, I present an omake that came up in my head during work.

*If Renny was to choose Muon as one of his harem members...*
Renny: "Hi everyone, I'm home! I brought someone over!"
He stepped aside to make room for the extremely large chested sexy black Miltank pokebrid to come in.
Whitney: "Muon!"
Renny: "Yeah! I hope you won't mind her staying over for a little while. She's your best friend, right?"
Whitney: "One of them, yes."
Milsha: "Oh mah! She rehminds meh so much of mah Bessie!"
Muon: *She cocked her eye toward Renny with a quizzical stare* "Bessie?"
Milsha: *She nods happily.*
Lola looked at Muon's rack almost competitively but tried her best to be civil as she explained.
Lola: "Milsha was a pokemon rancher before she came here. I imagine she's talking about her Miltank back home."
Renny: "Anyhow, I got to take care of my pokemon for a bit. Muon, please feel free to make yourself at home."
He leaves Muon with the rest of the girls in the room.
Muon: "Well, I'm pretty thirsty. Maybe I'll go grab a drink?"
Whitney led her to the kitchen fridge where she grabbed a carton of milk... and shook it with slight exasperation.
Muon: "Someone put an empty carton back in the fridge."
A voice shouts out from the other room.
Catherine: "Sorry! Boxing makes me a thirsty girl!"
Whitney: "I can't believe that with so many people in this place, someone still hasn't bought more drinks."
Lola: "It's probably exactly because of that. Everyone else expecting one of the others to do it."
Rachel: "Someone has to go get some."
Milsha: *Has her finger on her chin as her eyes rolls upward as if in deep thought.* "Can't yuh drink yer own milk?"

... Everyone looked at Milsha as if she said something incredible... in a bad way.
Muon: "What? You mean, my breast milk?"
Milsha: "Yup. Wha's teh big deal?"
Muon: "... I don't think they just come out with a simple squeeze. Plus, I kinda need both hands just to get a good grip, and it's a lot of work just to get one glass of milk."
Rachel looked at her as if she was oblivious to her incredible good fortune, as compared to her own flat-chest.
Milsha: "Co'mere! I think I guh sumthin' that'll help!"
Curiously, several of the girls stood by Milsha's bedroom door until she opened it and revealed an abominable contraption that more closely resembled the life sucking machine from the popular movie "Princess Bride" although a little more modern. This particular one though had several tanks attached to it in the process. The group looked at the device though with morbid curiousity as Milsha grabbed two very large suction cups.
Lola: "What in Honmyr is that!?"
Milsha: "Muh milking machine."
Milsha moved the cups over toward Muon's breasts, pulling down her top and wrapping the strap around the pokebrid.
Milsha: "In a mere minute, we can have a great supply of fresh natural milk!"
Catherine: "Will that even work?"
Milsha: "All teh time! I hav milk'd Bessie almos' forevah!"
Muon: " Wait what? But I'm a pokebrid not a normal Milta..."

Before Muon could finish her objection, her face turned a dark red shade as she tensed and shook all over, the milking akin to an explict and hardcore sexual act as her nipples lacatated through the tubing and into a few of several religiously hygenic jars. After a minute or two, the device stopped, leaving a minorly vegetable minded Muon and everyone else in utter disbelief. Rachel and Lola silently left post haste with the milk bottles to the fridge without a word.

Whitney: "Oh my god! Muon, are you ok!?"
Muon: *Slightly disoriented with a face that looked like a post orgasmic experience.* "Wow..."
Then they heard a voice in the kitchen.
Renny: "Oh wow! Did you guys buy a new brand of milk? This one tastes incredible! We should get this brand everytime!"
Milsha: *Is shouting from her room* " Sure thing Renny! It's all natural Bessie milk!"
Muon: *Is starting to come to her senses* "It's Muon! Not ..."
Milsha hovered her thumb over the remote as if ready to increase the setting up to "50".
Muon: "Moooooo...."
Milsha: "That's my bitch."

The Skuldrur will take their Spikes damage at the beginning of the Action Phase.

1. No, it does not, because I hate you.

2. It's not so much the extreme weather as it is the Fog of War. But yes, ally targeted moves are possible.

*thinks*

*write write write*

Unless they're in the Fog of War, too!

I'm kidding, of course. Gawd, that'd be such a dick move.

3. Unfortunately, Snag Shot won't work on Ruin types. At the end of the fourth turn's Upkeep Phase (would've been the third but the Inquiry Visors didn't start scanning until the second turn), you'll have them mapped out completely. This turn's Upkeep Phase will give you their statistics, the next turn's Upkeep Phase will show you their moves, and the fourth turn's Upkeep Phase will reveal their Abilities and anything else they might be hiding.

One last question. For characters with RDPA, do their abilities carry onto their RDPA form or is it only for their normal stage?

Or to be more specific to the given case; if Sakuya tries to enter the RDPA to do combat, will she have a base crit rate of 50% due to her personal ability or a crit rate of 12.5% due to her using a heavy RDPA?

Also, just confirming that the RDPA has its own hitpoints, so someone with minimal health left entering the RDPA will effectively be back up to full until the RDPA is broken or finished.

EDIT: NOTE TO EVERYONE

It has come to my attention that I made two errors with Alphonsine's pokemon (I must have been out of it when I was doing her.)

Nimbeon has no ability listed: Please note that its ability was meant to be White Smoke (Cloud)
Pelipper has an non-existant move called Hydro Pulse, which is clearly a result of me trying to decide whether to give it Hydro Pump or Water Pulse. The move should be Hydro Pump.

Also, Shannon's Shiftry's ability should have been Chlorophyll, not Pickpocket. Sorry about that.

Please make the edits on your respective downloaded guide.

So how much Fog of War will one Defog remove? All of it? 20%? What?

EDIT: Okay, so, Bard, Dante, here's the plan for you guys to review:

Elizabeth: Build Targetting Beacon.
Chizuru: X Speed on Balor and Irene. X Attack on Hydreigon and Sophia.
Pierce: Rage Rocket on Sophia.
(350) Nyoka: Gains Rage (300).
(200) Balor: Defog on Lathiron.
(200) Irene: Grimslay on Lathiron.
(190) Matthias: Porygon Z form. Thunder on Lathiron. Normal Type Pokebrid Action (+5 Rage).
(180) Sceptile: Switches in for Leprihare. Grass Knot on Lathiron.
(175) Cloyster: Icicle Spear on Lathiron.
(170) Kingdra: Dragon Pulse on Lathiron.
(165) Sophia: Switches in for Darmanitan. Signature Technique Test Amoeba on Skulldrurs A, B, C and Lathiron.Costs 70 Rage. Stands behind Capstan B.
(147) Hydreigon: Dragon Rush on Lathiron. Stands behind Capstan A.
(135) Giratina: Switches in for Meganium. Dragon Claw on Lathiron.
(127) Unownaut: Psycho Cut on Lathiron.
(120) Venusaur: Switches in for Rotom. Grass Knot on Lathiron.
(111) Thundurus: Light Screen on Unownaut, Irene and Balor.
(105) Spitz: Super Fang on Lathiron.
(105) Skarmory: Spikes. Spike damage increases to 18.75% to each enemy upon switching in.
(95) Electivire: Thunderpunch on Lathiron.
(30) Ferrothorn: Switches in for Quiksilver. Spikes. Spike damage increases to 25% to each enemy upon switching in.

Also, AB, I dunno if you're going to post today. If you do, I won't be there to fix anything. So I'm including the formula for accuracy in my post. Normally I would've done it myself and added it to each character's details, but I still don't know what Defog will do to the FoW.

And finally: How exactly would Matthias' Porygon Z ability work? In the games, Download takes the lowest defensive stat of one enemy, and both enemies in double battles. Should we assume that in this RP it takes in all the defensive stats of every foe in the enemy formation, or should we use the defensive stats of whoever Matthias is targetting specifically.

Drac, can I just clarify to you that Spikes doesn't do damage per turn?

It triggers when someone appears or switches in. Like if more mooks spawned. The spikes do stay on the field, but they don't do additional damage unless they are stupid/desperate enough to leave and come back.

Anyhow, writing post.

Not today. I'll shoot for a Friday post. This could take a while since it is a more action oriented post. But I will be in the process of working on it so don't think I'm just jacking off. I mean, I do that, I make time for that but...I know my priorities.

Abilities can carry to the RDPA, but the unit inside still retains its own HP. So, contrary to what your post says, transferring to an RDPA doesn't heal the unit using it. If you use healing items, you can designate whether you heal the RDPA or its pilot. I know it makes no sense considering RDPAs are usually mechanical in nature so it's silly to think a hyper potion would work on them, but then let's just factor that into the same logic that allows you to do the same to mechanical Pokemon like Metagross and Magnezone, let alone Pokemon that don't have normal wounds like Rock and Ghost types. Also note that other things like buffs and Light Screen don't carry over to the RDPA from the pilot either.

And don't forget that if the RDPA is destroyed, the unit herself faints...and is buried...and hates you...a lot.

Defog and any other Flying move from a Pokemon reduces Fog of War by 25%. Slayers and Pokebrids can do it by 50%.

EDIT: Wait, it's only Tuesday. Fuck, my mind is messed up. I'm forced to take this stupid class and I'm so mentally exhausted when I come home all I wanna do is drown myself in stupid for hours. Umm...Thursday, either in the morning or at night. That's what I'm shooting for, anyways.

Well, what I meant was that the agent using the RDPA will "effectively" be healed by virtue of hiding inside something that has its own health meter.

Like say if our Sakuya was down to 75 hitpoints out of the 847 she would normally have. She then enters the RDPA which has 1270 hitpoints (1.5x her max hitpoints). She would then effectively have 1270 hitpoints instead of her 75. Of course, if she leaves the RDPA, then she'll be back to her 75 hitpoints that she had in the first place.

That was the logic I was running under, similar to Xenosaga.

Astral Harmony

That's sounds like the best way to go around it 'cause I doubt you guys would wanna put the main plot aside to go dungeon spelunking for the Sexcalibur and I don't wanna do that, either. Anyways, post on Thursday because I'll be bending every fiber of my being to the task. If my fibers suck, Friday.

Fortunately, I don't expect optional dungeons to be large at all. Some might just be one large battle, but I expect there to be only two or three battles each for the most part.

*If Renny was to choose Muon as one of his harem members...*
Renny: [COLOR="Lime"]"Hi everyone, I'm home!

And no, you don't get to request that he can't take Lola or something. AB knows she's Renny's soul mate, so if Burkmont did take her you'd undoubtedly get her back safe, if a little impure, and in need of comfort. It'd be a nice bonding moment for both of them.

Update 1: Order Phase for Lathiron battle is done. Doing calculations now. Created rules for Fog of War and put 'em in the Umbralguide which I will put in this thread's first post tonight.

Update 2: Lathiron battle calculations are nearly done. Umbralguide will be posted in about a minute. I expect to have this post finished Sunday. I pray I can. Depends on how crazy Krunder's battle is compared to Lathiron's.

Update 3: Couldn't get any work done Sunday. Let's just say I've been starring on my own anime called The Melancholy of Armored Bishoujo. I'll have it done as soon as I can get my enthusiasm back. Just been a terrible week and a half.

'Kay, so here's what I'm doing:

Lathiron side of the battle will be done tonight. Even more than halfway finished before I got started on it again, it still devoured three hours already before I took a break. Next post this weekend will be the Krunder side. I plan to do it this way to sort of mentally trick myself into thinking there isn't so much work. I'm stupid like that.

EDIT: Lathiron side of the post is done. Bitch at me with all your problems and queries. Will have new Umbralguide up here shortly. Will work solely on the Krunder side even if the Lathiron side has their next battle predictions. Gawd, you wouldn't believe how long that took. Krunder side should be done this weekend. I will no longer be lazy with this stuff so don't rush me or I'll...I'll...get all huffy.

EDIT 2: Final Umbral Guide is up. This details Fog of War and a few other things. Post is messed up a bit so I deleted it, will fix it quickly, and post it right back up.

EDIT 3: Post is fixed of at least the major conflict with it. I'm sure you observant fuckers will find other things so let me point out a couple things:

- In order to reduce Fog of War with a flying type move that isn't Defog, you have to actually target the Fog of War. If you target the Fog of War like this, you cannot hit Lathiron as well.
- Since Pierce now has a rank in Slayer, he is a part of the active formation.
- Remember that I took out Vengeful Rage? Well, feeling bad about that, I put in a different version. Basically, you get double the Rage normally recieved by a hit if that hit defeats you. Therefore, Charlotte got 10 Rage each for when Spitz and Venusaur were taken down.

Dracorion
09-30-2011, 07:52 AM
So, because Pierce is a Slayer he gets to fight with two Pokemon and himself out like a Shock Trooper?

Does that mean Renny's going to have to take part in the active formation as well, since he's a Pokebrid?

And shouldn't the Aqkuaw be taking damage from the rain, since it's Rock type?

Finally, you forgot to record the damage to Sophia and Kingdra in the turn 3 order phase. And Thundurus shows up twice there, and Venusaur doesn't at all.

I do approve of the enemies all hating the crap out of Charlotte's Pokemon.

Astral Harmony
09-30-2011, 03:31 PM
You don't fight like a Shock Trooper, but you still show up on the battlefield.

Yes, Renny will show up in his formation as well.

Aqkuaw won't take damage from his own side. That's just silly.

I will fix the damage. Sorry about that.

Will fix the Thundurus thing, but Venusaur and Spitz were defeated before they could attack in the Order Phase.

I just wanna be honest and say that I wasn't even thinking about the fact that those two Pokemon did incredible damage (especially Spitz) or that they were slow enough for the enemy to get at. I was mostly so pressed for time that I really wasn't thinking about targets this turn, just "focus on Pokemon". Oh well. Wouldn't be hard for her to recover.

You don't fight like a Shock Trooper, but you still show up on the battlefield.

Yes, Renny will show up in his formation as well.

Errrr, can you explain this better or why this is needed?

For one thing, this might interefere with our formations especially AOE moves and buffing moves because of these new "additions". Especially when considering that normal trainers aren't considered part of the formation and yet MYSTERIOUSLY Pierce and Renny (and every other slayer or pokebrid trainer) are considered part of the formation (and risk being attacked) despite behaving exactly like a trainer in any function and having no benefit from being put in the formation in the first place.

It doesn't seem to serve any purpose but make things harder for no real reason and without any notice before we made our formations. It also doesn't seem to make it easier to keep track of data either.

Astral Harmony
09-30-2011, 06:05 PM
Why this is, or rather, was considered to be needed is due to balancing issues in which the Pokebrid or Slayer can effectively render themselves invincible so long as they have two Pokemon to cockblock their enemies.

Why plain ol' Trainers and Snaggers aren't in the formation themselves is that they don't have vital statistics.

I believe Gem argued this point before, but don't quote me on that as I dunno how old that arguement was or who argued it in the first place.

I will go ahead and fix this right now.

Menarker
09-30-2011, 06:43 PM
The problem then wasn't with that but with the issue with rogue pokemon. Slayers or pokebrid trainers wouldn't be targetted because if they did, the pokemon would go rogue for some cheap damage.

But now that rogue pokemon rules have been revised to more or less dramatic rules, it shouldn't be an issue since the slayer/pokebrid can just partake in battle as normal trainers or as a pair of themselves and one of their pokemon. If the trainer gets knocked out, they could still order their pokemon, but are otherwise unable to fend for themselves.

But yes, thanks for going ahead to fix it.

Okay, Menarker, quick nitpick:

How does Ursaring get a 5.5 multiplier to it's Attack? Guts adds 50%, which is 1/2 and not 1(1/2). Add that to the 4x multiplier from the six-stage boost and it makes 4.5x, doesn't it?

I dunno, I never bothered to learn how Pokemon handles adding different multipliers.

First few things I can think of.

Details on Delstus C is missing.

Ursaring is supposed to take half damage from the AOE attack due to the Scapegoat move used on it.

Ursaring is supposed to take poison damage from its own poison orb. (On top of the sandstorm damage)

Sakuya only got 5 rage for Eelektross being defeated.

Eelektross was still able to attack AFTER it was defeated. Obviously, this shouldn't be the case. (However, this does mean that Sakuya's rage is actually accurate since she gained 5 rage from it attacking as opposed to when it was being knocked out. Just need to fix the illegal damage it dealt)

Did Vaporeon get healed due to its leftovers/Aqua Ring? Does regeneration happen before or after sandstorm damage?

EDIT:
Pelipper should not have lost any Accuaracy from Krunder's attack due to its ability "Keen Eye".

Mollesk is missing from the turn 3 Order of Turns as well.

I'll probably find the time after I'm done crying in a corner somewhere.

Update: Aside from what Delstus C's doing (on a work computer, can't access the calculating software), everything else...should...be okay.

Details on Delstus C is missing. (But you know that already)

Sakuya only got 5 rage for Eelektross being defeated. According to what you said before, it should be 10.

Pelipper should not have lost any Accuaracy from Krunder's attack due to its ability "Keen Eye".

Why does Shiftry only has 1 turn left of Tailwind when everyone else has 2?

Mollesk, Takano and Donovan is missing from the turn 3 Order of Turns. (Along with the details of lost health from sandstorm.)

Okay, AB, I noticed a couple more things wrong with the Lathiron side of the battle.

Mainly, Spitz was holding a Focus Sash that I completely forgot about, so it would've survived the Skuldrur's attack with 1 HP. Nope, this is wrong. My bad.

Also a couple of missing or mistaken numbers, like HP or Rage. But I'll jot the real values down when I post my plan, so you don't have to edit your post for those. And now I know to add Held Items to each characters' details.

EDIT: Right, so here's the plan for Bard:

[Targeting Beacon] [Unownaut] [Irene] [Spitz] [Pike] [Hydreigon (Capstan A)] [Sophia (Capstan B)] [Giratina] [Musharna] [Pierce] [Metagross] [Quiksilver] [Ferrothorn] [Sceptile] [Cloyster] [Matthias] [Device/Evolith Slot 2]

All Rage totals are only from the start of the turn, so they don't take into consideration attacks taken during the turn (except for Evangaleen's Killshot).

Elizabeth: Rage is 10.
Rachel: Rage is 50.
Evangaleen: Killshot on Skuldrur F (-50 Rage). Rage is 50.
Chizuru: Revive on Spitz and Venusaur. X Attack on Irene and Unownaut. Rage is 65.
Charlotte: Trainer Action "Kick The Dog" on Spitz, +3 Speed. Full Restore on Spitz. Rage is 75.
Pierce: Trainer Action "Five Star Deluxe Special" on Kingdra (+20% maxHP every turn until it recieves damage, Kingdra's HP becomes 513/715 at the next Upkeep phase). Rage is 60.
(350) Nyoka: Gains Rage (400).
(210) HP: 688/688, Spitz: Super Fang on Aqkuaw A.
(200) HP: 792/792, Balor: Defog on Lathiron A (FoW -25%).
(200) HP: 847/847, Irene: Rage is 65. Grimslay on Lathiron A.
(190) HP: 803/803, Matthias: Rage is 65. Thunder on Lathiron A. Normal Type Pokebrid Action (+5 Rage).
(180) HP: 688/688, Sceptile: Nature Blaster on Skuldrur D.
(180) HP: 847/847, Pierce: Switches in for Kingdra. Crescent Moon (Steel) on Aqkuaw A.
(175) HP: 583/583, Cloyster: Hydro Pump on Aqkuaw A.
(165) HP: 553/794, Sophia: Rage is 20. Wyrm Strike (Dragon) on Lathiron A.
(165) HP: 660/660, Quiksilver: Switches in for Skarmory. Meteor Mash on Aqkuaw A.
(147) HP: 804/804 Hydreigon: Dragon Rush on Lathiron A.
(135) HP: 1111/1111, Giratina: Dragon Claw on Skuldrur D.
(127) HP: 764/764, Unownaut: Psycho Cut on Lathiron A.
(120) HP: 370/370, Venusaur: Does nothing.
(111) HP: 731/731, Thundurus: Discharge on Lathiron A and Skuldrur D. Backlash to hit Electivire. Electivire's Motor Drive neutralizes damage and increases its Speed by one stage.
(142) HP: 715/715, Electivire: Thunderpunch on Lathiron A.
(105) HP: 741/741, Metagross: Meteor Mash on Aqkuaw A.
(43) HP: 599/929, Musharna: Does nothing.
(30) HP: 709/709, Ferrothorn: Gyro Ball on Aqkuaw A.

If anyone's target is already dead, redirect attacks to Skuldrur E, then Lathiron.

[B]By the way, AB, is that how Sniper's Killshot skill works? It takes place at the start, before anything else? Or does it have to use the Speed of one of Evangaleen's Pokemon?

Sadly, Bard, we can't afford to have Charlotte heal Spitz and then kick him. You'll just have to make do with kicking him and then healing.

If the Focus Sash thing had worked, though? So totally would've kicked the dog after healing him.

It's because I was tired of playing video games.

Gawd, it's terrible. When I'm doing Pokemon Umbral, I just wanna play video games and when I'm playing video games, I just wanna work on Pokemon Umbral.

Anyways, I see the post and shall begin working on it today.

Charlotte said a bad word!

Hehe, oh wow.

Those two new pokemon will be GLAD to leave Charlotte once the mission is over. Probably would flip the bird with whatever substitute for a middle finger they have.

I think the pokepolice will try to arrest Charlotte for "babying" her pokemon too much. Damn, gotta be tough of them so they can survive later on.

Hehe, Charlotte is as far from babying as possible.

Everything ok there AB? Or are you just waiting for something like Drac to post his part of the battle?

EDIT: Just as a reminder, Reflect and Light Screen stay on the given spot of the field, even if the one using it switches out.

EDIT: Drac, I tried to send you a PM, but it was too big.

So I'm copy-pasting it here. You can quote it and use it yourself. And once you do, I'll just edit it out. If you can make do a minor check on it, that'll be great.

EDIT: And as I mentioned on the pad, I came up with an omake and here it is, after some improvement/revision by AB. (Thanks!)

It was around 9PM on one particularly chilly autumn evening and several of the PATCA members were hanging out at Bretton's house for a party. Everyone was just hanging out and having a good time...
"You enjoying the party?" Renny asked Lola. The two of them were seated comfortably as he enjoyed a steamy and aromatic hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream.
Lola nodded. "Yeah. It's nice to be able to relax once in a while. Especially when it's getting much closer to winter and everyone gets really busy around that time."
Renny gazed out the window whimsically. "Yeah, I know what you mean."
Suddenly, a large guy jumped from the crowd and clapped his hands on Renny's shoulders. Bretton the musclehead apparently not using the muscle in his head. "Oh hey, Renny! Glad you could make it! Oh shi-!
He reacted too late as he accidentally startled Renny into dropping his cup of hot chocolate on his lap, spilling its hot contents in a most embarrassing location.

"Ugggh--!" Renny's cry was loud and brief as he tried to avoid screaming from the mild burn in the middle of the party.
"Oh man, I'm sorry! Come with me! I deal with burns all the time! And I got some clean gym pants you can borrow."

Lola watched Renny follow Bretton out of the room, then found someone else to strike up an issue she was curious about. "What's with all the Ditto?"
Rachel shrugged. "Oh, some game people tend to be gaga about. You'd think with all the outdoor space we'd play some volleyball or something."
"What sort of game needs all these Ditto?"
Rachel fished into her hip pouch for another sucker. The girl had an infatuation with root beer. "Something Angelo calls 'Imposter'. I guess they blindfold you 'n' have you try to pick someone out of a line-up and you can only use your hands to figure it which is which.
Lola raised an eyebrow. "So the main player is blindfolded with only their sense of touch to help them? Wouldn't there be an issue with accidental contact?"
Harliette joined in their little discussion, impish smile plastered on her face. "Only the guilty people would ask a question like that."
Lola gave a cute little hmph. "Does this game have a referee? Or maybe a hint giver or something?"
Harliette sighed. "Yeah, but I guess it's someone who'll tell you to cup the balls."
Evangaleen gave her own little hmph. "The Ditto we have here will mimic the real person. At least about as well as they possibly can. So play it. Or don't. Pussy."
Harliette shrugged. "So who's giving the first physical? Sis, would you like to do the honors?"
Lola folded her arms. "This game is beneath me. I shan't."
"The hell kind of way to talk is-" Harliette started, then froze as Bretton returned with Lola's boytoy. "Alrighty then, I'll play. And Renny will be the one I'm going to identify. Shouldn't be hard to do. I doubt a Ditto knows how the mimic testicles."

"You wouldn't dare!" Lola shouted, but Harliette had already ordered Renny to stand in a line (the automatic shotgun pointed at his chest was certainly persuasive) and the Ditto took that as their cue to mimic him while Harliette set her gun aside and donned her blindfold.
"Heidi. Kurika. Would you switch up the arrangement, please?" Calisto asked two of PATCA's heaviest hitters.

Lola watched in terror as the two muscle maidens altered the lineup by deadlifting and swapping out the six people, one Pokebrid and five Pokebrid-shaped Pokemon.
"Done! Harliette, please begin your investigation. Remember, you're trying to identify Renny."
"This'll be as easy as making candy from a baby," Harliette popped her knuckles.
"Don't you mean [I]taking ca-"
"I know what I said."
"Stop! Alright. I'll do it."
Harliette removed the blindfold. "Watch out, Renny. Your girlfriend might just have more balls than you do."

After a few minutes of Lola trying to pick Renny out of the crowd, they saw why real adults who did adult stuff didn't play this game.
"This is kinda boring, isn't it?" Rachel asked Harliette.
"I couldn't drink enough to make this amusing to me," Harliette agreed, cigarette in right hand and alcohol in the other.

"Wait a minute...there's a shortcut here..."

"What the hell is she-?" Harliette squinted to see if she was seeing this correctly. "Is she sniffing their-?!"
"Did the Pokemon DNA take control? She's acting like an animal."
"This is him!"
"That-that's correct," Calisto said, but not out of surprise for Lola being correct.

"Well, maybe there is a reason people actually play such a stupid fucking game," Harliette observed. "Good job, sis. You've done something I would never do."
"What exactly did you do?" Renny asked Lola.
Lola kept her face even. "Request does not compute."
"Oh, the chocolate!" Rachel had that eureka expression on her face.
"Chocolate? You mean from-"
Lola stood up and gently placed her hands on Renny and Rachel's head. An anime-style shadow prevented them from seeing her eyes. "You are both good children and will not continue this unless you like staring up at hospital lights for a couple weeks."
"Bullshit, he changed his pants," Harliette noted. "Maybe she smelled the sweat and pheromones from his-"
"Does! Not! Fucking! Compute! Damn you!"

Sorry for the delay. And thanks to Menarker for the character details.

Anyway, here's a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8E6H5gzuj0) of Pierce's thing with the Aqkuaw there. Only more polevaulting and less maneuvers in midair.

Posts in progress. Just trying to decide if I wanna do a certain something now or perhaps next turn.

Kay, I'm out. Don't wanna let this distract me from stuff that matters. All the deals are off, whatever that counts for. Best of luck.

Edit:
Clarification, umbral only. I'm still on NPF. This is really just about an RP distracting me a loooot more than it should. I suppose I should thank Drac for that little epiphany. : p

Krunder side will be done tomorrow. Sorry for the delays. Just...had to deal with a lotta stress. Yes, a few weeks worth of stress. That's all the Navy is these days. Nothing but stress.

EDIT: Well, I found a way to do posts somewhat faster, but I'm still having some trouble managing the assload of information. Give me a few posts and I should get it down pat.

Lathiron side to be completed over this week. I won't let this weekend finish without having the other side done. Even if I have to dick around with the progression of time.

Anyways, Menarker, let me know what I screwed up and how many women I can put into your harem to make it up to you.

Yes, I'm only kidding. Jerk.

Wow. That's a VERY big development.

On the plus side, two of our biggest hitters are fully pumped up now. ^^

Quick question. How big is the RDPA? (Meaning, can it actually reach those locations that normally only flying types or ranged moves can reach? I kinda doubt it since Krunder's claws are described to be actually bigger than the RDPA.)

RDPAs vary in size, though most stand up about ten to twelve feet tall.

Ok. Let me clarify the question.

Will Sakuya's RDPA be able to reach any of Krunder's hard to reach locations with any of her melee attacks?

Silly Menarker, this isn't Super Robot Taisen. That robot probably weighs as much as [insert whichever female character you want to insult] and can barely get off the ground.

EDIT: while I'm posting here I might as well ask. Do destroyers get STAB on their attacks? For example if Twiloch uses Shadow Scythe will that move get STAB bonus for being Dark type?

So, AB, can we get a status update?

Not on the post, I mean. We'd all just like to know what's up. If you could get on the pad when you have a chance, that'd be great.

Because you know, as it stands the leading theory is basically you went suicidal becuase of Gem quitting.
