There's also a trailer you can view if you click the thing on the bottom left of the main image.

Looks good. I'm expecting a standard thirteen episode series, and it should work well. Gyo's not my favorite Junji Ito manga by far, but it's pretty decent, and if it does well, maybe it'll open the door for anime adaptations of other things he's done.

For those who don't know what Gyo is, without getting too spoilery, it's about fish with legs swarming over the land, and you figure out more about how this happened and what they are as the series progresses.

EDIT: Turns out it'll be a 70 minute OVA that releases February 15th. I wonder if they'll have time enough for the circus.

I. Uh.

Huh.

On the one hand, Gyo is horrifying and pretty well done on several levels, on the other hand, it's so ridiculous at times that I had a hard time reading it.

Probably just end up watching it anyway, to see how they handle some of the moments that ruined the tension for me (if you've read Gyo, you know what I'm talking about).

Yeah, I feel like every longer story by Junji Ito usually has something like this. In Hellstar Remina, it was flying around the world. In Uzumaki, it was the tornado gangs. In Gyo, I'd say it was two-fold. Mostly it was the farting the death gas, which I guess makes sense but just felt silly as fuck. And then there was the circus, which was better than I expect it to be but still took me out of it at first.

Honestly, I'd much prefer an Uzumaki series or an OVA series of his shorter stories, but I'm still looking forward to this.
