View Full Version : Podcast Me to Sleep
Hey, so I've started the habit of listening to podcasts as I go to sleep. Specifically, I listen to old My Brother, My Brother, and Me (http://maximumfun.org/shows/my-brother-my-brother-and-me) episodes.
Now, MBMBaM is great, and it's hard to imagine I'll find something that compares, but I've already listened to all their episodes and I'd like to try something new. Preferably with a focus on humor, though if it crosses over into other areas, I wouldn't mind. Just so long as it makes me laugh.
Recommendations?
MBMBaM is pretty damn baller. I barely hit the 40 mark but I should probably cut back so I can listen to it when my commute starts back up in two weeks.
You could try Kiss and Tell (http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/kiss-and-tell/id416507646) which is permanently just 19 episodes unfortunately. It's basic premise was that people would send in secrets and some dudes would comment, sometimes dips into advicecast territory.
There's also Podcast Amazing (http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/podcast-amazing/id372344936) which is the podcast of the band Starship Amazing. (http://starshipamazing.com/) Premise is two funny dudes mainly talking about the music they've listened too, while occasionally dipping into discussion about video games, films, and the music they've created.
Hope these help.

I have said this before but I cannot recommend British radio comedies enough. Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy is both lulling and hilarious and The Department is equally if not more amusing.
Now for actual Podcasts, The Bugle with John Oliver is good especially for fans of fake news right in there with the Daily Show.

LEOG (http://spill.com/Podcasts/Podcast.aspx?category=leog) aka "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" from Spill.com is pretty good and I listen to that on a regular basis. The main topics of discussion are comic books, television, and movies but they occasionally have an anime segment. The humor can be pretty blue at times but there's nothing really malicious (I remember them turning one episode into a huge discussion on Prop 8 and how bullshit that was). They cover pretty much every group so nothing is sacred when it comes to a joke.
