As long as we're suggesting things, it'd be nice if images and emoticons didn't break the autoscroll-when-people-say-things feature, as well as if copy-pasting text from the chat included linebreaks.

Alright, figured this one out. It's not a banner, but who cares, there's a link up there now if logged in which allows you to return to NPF.

?? It's no less ugly than the Ajax Chat title that's there anyway. A banner would just be wasted space up there. It's not like the link to get to the chat is any different, aside from being on the other side of the page.
