DS Orange Light Issue

So, I was playing Pokemon Emerald on my DS today (DS-Lite by the way) and I just now went to plug it in to charge. I did so and the orange light won't stay on no matter whether I plug it in using the USB port on my PC or into the wall. It only comes on when I plug it in and play.

Some facts. This is NOT the original charger. That bit the dust cause cats chewed on the cord. This is a non-Nintendo one I bought at Gamestop to replace it because there were no originals to get...stupid Nintendo. >_<

I hope this isn't a bad sign that I may need to replace the DS. >_>

My DS Lite does that when it's fully charged and I connect it to the charger i.e. when it's fully charged.

I got paranoid for no reason. It seems to use ALOT less power with the GBA carts. ^_^*** *facewalls at his own paranoia*
