So much for Jeanne! I guess Kit'll just have to find another main antagonist. Right? RIGHT?
Next page, Kit pulls the trigger and THE END.

No Problem at all. The necromancer is already at the scene. :D
Jokes aside i think Jeanne is playing with Kit. Jeanne already "risked" being shot before the fight. I think bullets don't do a lot to her.
Or she can evade them at that distance. :aaa:

^ If she can dodge a bullet at point blank range, then any of the terrifying descriptors Liz and Kit gave earlier do NOT do her justice.

Fercryinoutloud, Kit, when you're trying to kill someone you don't stop to gloat. Pull the trigger first; there'll be plenty of time to gloat later. Haven't you ever watched a James Bond movie? Maybe not.

Yeah we all know that's not going to happen, you're having too much fun with this. Still, Kit's arrogance is showing big time here. If you have someone dead to rights like that, you gloat after you pull the trigger. Kit's just giving Jeanne time to figure out five different ways to kick her devikin ass.

Did I miss something, or did we suddenly get grays for the first time? (Pointillist gray at that). It looks good, don't get me wrong. I'm just surprised no one commented given the usual reactions...
P.S. Trigger pulled, Jeanne dead... then the super spider shows up with an army of goons and the zombie apocalypses kills everyone. THE END.

There's been gray before, e.g. 142 (and that wasn't the first).
P.S. Trigger pulled, Jeanne dead... then the super spider shows up with an army of goons and the zombie apocalypses kills everyone. THE END.
Just as Kit is about to shoot, zombies attack, Kit and Jeanne are forced to fight them off together, become best buds, ride off together into sunset. THE ENDER.

Yeah, I decided to start adding grey shading to it. I don't plan to do anything too advanced, like HIKYM, but I figure a bit here and there might go a long way.

Evil will always triumph, because good is dumb.
The most dangerous woman in the territory just tried to kill you. She is fast enough to move between the blinking of your eyes. You have her at gunpoint. PULL THE FRELLING TRIGGER! Gloat at her corpse!

Oh yes, punch #1 of two in the Metsu-Shoryuken technique.
(The followup to the chin is the bitch Kit. Have fun with that).

Kit, the woman can dodge bullets. What the hell did you think was gonna happen?
On a side note, I love the effect of Kit's gun going off at the same moment Jeanne initiates her Metsu Shoryuuken.

I must say, I really do enjoy this comic. Been reading since day 1. I'm really loving the 3 pages a week rotation!
One question though, did Jeanne just punch Kit so hard she warped the fabric of space and time between panels 1 & 2 to start a punch with her right but follow through with her left? Or were those separate punches?
MSperoni
09-28-2012, 12:25 PM
They were separate punches. She hit Kit in the stomach with her left, then hit Kit in the jaw with her right, and then an uppercut with the left.
Kinda like Ryu's Metsu Shoryuken (though I think Ryu just hits twice).
Glad you are liking the comic!

Thank you for the clarification! I figured it was 3 punches, but wasn't sure. :)
Also, Masterof7s thanks for the visual! I don't play a lot of fighting games so I totally didn't get the reference.

Although the question is, how did Jeanne fill up her ultra meter when she never got hit?Jeanne has a random goon punch her in the face repeatedly every morning as part of her daily affirmations. It feels good and lets everyone know that anything less than a tank won't stop her.

I really like seeing kit, in her delirious stupor, think of poe in this longing fashion. It really shows how much she loves poe and how much her sister is on her mind. I would suggest, however, and this is just the letterer in me, that you modify the speech bubble to convey kit's seeing-birds/stars... You can either do this by making the border squiggly and the font different sizes per letter, or making the border a dotted line to convey whispering.

ANNOUNCEMENT:
I turned my computer on this morning and the monitor wouldn't display anything. The computer is running fine otherwise. Some people have theorized it's a problem with my graphics card. My computer is very old, so I don't know what I'll do.
Until I figure out what I'll do though, The Dreadful is on hiatus. I don't know how long it will be before I can get things up and running again. It may be a week, it may be a month.
I still have the internet, so I can keep in touch.
EDIT:
There will be a page on Monday, I have it finished and ready to send to Brian for posting. It's the last page of Chapter 6, so I guess it will be a good point for a hiatus.

Donations would be nice, but that's okay for now.
I took my computer into get it fixed and it apparently was a problem with the graphics card. It is working now though.
However, there have been some odd happenings today regarding my computers. I noticed my laptop was no longer charging, yet I just unplugged it from the outlet for a bit and then plugged it into a different one and there was a little spark and then ...it worked.
also now that I have my computer back, the keyboard stopped working so I had to replace it with a backup...The backup keyboard is USB, unlike the old one.
Yet everything else works fine. Hmmm...
Could it all be related to some kinda electrical problem and the computer is, I dunno, just getting too much juice and it's frying things?

Get a good surge protector just in case.
MSperoni

I have a surge protector, but it's kinda old, so I think I should get another one...
I'm really afraid to unplug it though. Or turn it off. I've been turning it off every night for the past few years, and so far have had no issue. But....Now I'm concerned.
The repair person I took it to said it was "user preference". I always turned it off at night because I thought it was easier on the machine and it was a psychological "thing" for me. Like, I have the computer off, work is done for the day.
Though now I don't know. If I turn it off, it may not come back on again :P
And if it does, who knows what sort of malfunctions will happen. The keyboard doesn't work, but it might be my tablet next time, or the mouse, etc..... URRGHGH

*edit* if you've already got your PC back, then this might not be relevant, whoops. I guess a lot can happen in 2 days, although the VERY bottom line could still be relevant.
The spark you get when you plug the power cord in is fine as far as I know.
Also, as far as I know, running a computer 24/7 is only bad for your power supply(Performance degrades over time)/power bill, but might/should increase the life span of hard drives, due to having to worry about thermal expansion/contraction, because it's always running.
You might also look at buying a PS/2 keyboard, generally PS/2 keyboards are superior, although they require a restart to be detected.
Being capable of fixing hardware/software related PC issues is a pretty great benefit to your wallet in most cases, and fixing them in most cases is either relatively easy and or just time consuming.
My main fear is that since he said it was a GPU problem(likely is), he might charge a arm and a leg for the "Repair" which might not even be a repair, and just a replacement(assuming a dedicated GPU and not a integrated). Then again I don't actually know your current PC specs. Might actually be a good idea to have a copy of your PC specs, such as CPU/RAM/Motherboard/GPU handy for incidents such as this. Could save some time/money since I know alot of the people on this website are pretty PC savvy.
Hopefully it all works out though, and hopefully your PC gets repaired soon so that the dreadful can continue.
OH YES, for the keyboard that's PS/2 make sure you actually do a reboot after you plug it in, since they're only detected on start up, USB can be plugged in at any time. Just throwing it out there if you haven't checked that.

Well, the computer is fixed for now. He just took the graphics card out and put it back in, cleaned it, "tightened" some stuff and...yeah.
I'm worried this might happen again though, but it works for now. I have a backup computer just in case, and this computer is much better than the one I'm currently using and has Photoshop CS5 on it. I just don't know how to use CS5 and my tablet isn't compatible with Windows 7.
I'm basically milking my old desktop for as long as I can, and I have been milking it for a looooong time (I want to say 6-8 years, but I think it's more like six). It's a wonder it still works.

Pretty sure you should be good. Computers last a VERY long time, 10 years+ if you want them to. What normally "dies" isn't the computer so much as the Hard Drive, everything else normally lasts a very long time.
Also, if you still have that keyboard, you should try plugging it in and restarting if you haven't yet.
