Epic? Epic...

Seriously, be Marvel or be the director... these people know how to make a goddamn trailer. This has got me HYPED! Quite often we see a "3rd one in a franchise" thing that just doesn't look as good... but this? This does.

There is a real sense of dread and "high stakes". And if this is the final Solo Iron Man movie, it would be a nice segway for Stark to movie permanently to the Avengers Tower.

Now, i don't think pepper will die in this movie, but after this Trailer i don't think their relationship will survive. Not something this big. Stark is not a soldier, he is still adapting to "i'm a real life super hero" business... but Pepper? She is just a CEO... this is no life for her.

And Stark pretty much loosing everything, kinda brings me back to that mentality of the Cave scene in Iron Man 1, which is an awesome sign...

Those of you who are more Comic Book inclined... i understand this goes into the "Suit Wars" business, and that's why Tony is using the Gold Platted Mark Suit (which apparently in this trailer he first looses, and then gets back...). Anybody knows what that suit becomes after this story arc? Cause it's going back to the original red.... for sure.

So, hey! Iron Man 3, coming April!!!

I can't bring myself to click the play button. I see the Iron Man suit all decked out like Captain America in the still shot before the video loads and just immediately want to murder everything.

Iron Man is far more American than Captain America. It makes sense.

He was, but that character is currently not owned by Marvel, so this is War "Totally not the Iron Patriot" Machine instead, with his "totally not Iron Patriot" colour scheme.

No I don't see the point either, but who cares, fuckin' Mandarin bitches!

Hasn't every Iron Man movie basically been a "Suit War" movie?

Also, was that supposed to be Ben Kingsley or Guy Pearce giving the bad guy voiceover? Because it didn't really sound like either of their normal voices, and I'm down for this movie solely* based off how "turrerist" and "teach-errr" were pronounced.

*Just joshing, I was in based solely off of Shane Black being the writer/director.

I think they're mashing a lot of stuff together now.
"Dark Reign" because of Iron Patriot-like War Machine. Possibly "Suit Wars", but I don't think so based on the trailer. And then there's the "Extremis" arc, on account of the "snap-on" armor and the remote control thing.

Several Extremis characters are also being played, so that's pretty much guaranteed.

Hmm... now that I think about it, "Suit Wars" was Iron Man 2.
Whiplash using the Arc Reactor technology to create his own "suit", barebones as it was, and the Hammer Drones (though one may argue about the drones. I feel it fits though).
Add in a little bit of very, very watered down "Demon" and we're done.

Talking about extremis.... you guys think they could go that route? I mean... the nano machine suit. It's interesting o the point that he would no longer require to have the suit nearby to step up, but on the other hand, it's a one way road...

Maybe for Avengers 2? If that's the last Iron Man appearance on film...

Well, clearly Ben Kingsley is not East Asian (he's from India, right?) and looks pretty white, so that's similar, but that's only part of the story. He's also spouting random political stuff and has an Anarchy tattoo on his neck. I'm pretty sure in the comics Mandarin, much like comic Bane, could give two shits about politics, he just wanted to conquer the world. So I'm assuming the plot now has political stuff in it like TDKR. Also, he has a funny voice and speaks in odd cadences, like Bane.

So that's what I mean by Bane-ification.

Hey, I'm just glad Mandarin wasn't GREEN like in that one cartoon.

And eff you Smarty, Yellow Peril is the most kickass of all old racial stereotypes. For one thing, they get to be smart.

I freakin' hope they do the bleeding edge suit. Post-humanism gets me all hot and bothered.

Eh, everywhere else on the internet thinks it is Hulkbuster armor, so I dunno.

Also the grim tonality of the music doesn't really match much of anything actually shown in the trailer. This should have had Led Zeppelin soundtrack.
