Ooooh, interested.
Haven't played 3.5 in a good while, but I still have my copies of the Player's Handbook and Sandstorm.
Of course, I have feeling that a lot of stuff in Sandstorm isn't of use outside of desert setting, much as I adore the idea of an Ashworm Dragoon Paladin.

I would be up for some Sunday evening Dnding. I am already apart of a group that does 3.5 on every other Saturday so that is out. Do we know roughly what level, restrictions, things like that?
Geminex
12-12-2012, 03:59 PM
As far as I can tell, we start at level 1, smarty allows everything, but if we play dirty he also starts playing dirty, so i guess don't min-max too much.
Also, please note that this is evening GMT. That means it's closer to afternoon for people in the US. I'm pretty sure the two of you are US, aren't you?

Aye.

Yeah, GMT is 5 hours ahead of my particular time zone, so if you start at 5 PM GMT then its Noon for me. (Daylight Savings time can really screw with things if you are not careful). However I tend to have Sundays free so any time (as long as it isn't god awful early or dreadfully late) should be fine.
And now I'll need to think of what I want to play. If I am correct Smarty tends to keep his games a lot me RP emphasized rather than combat oriented correct?

Hm... how far does allowing "Everything" go? Is homebrew in that set, to a point? Because there's a particular class I've always wanted to try (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=9623431#post9623431).
Burlew's done work in some 3.5 splatbooks in the past, so I trust his homebrew is of sufficient quality.
edit: oooh, and he's since added improved features and some feats to let the class keep pace with other classes/be able to multiclass more easily.

Interested, but I'm usually working on Sunday evening and attendance might be spotty on Saturday evenings.

Man you fucks can work out times.
Fucking everything is allowed. Don't be stupid though. That's pretty much the rule.

Alright, cool. Then I think I will go ahead and try out a Champion, if I do indeed have time for this.

Smarty can't DM though. It is the law.

Oh wow, there's more multiclass feats for the Champion than I thought. I'm gonna hve to do some serious thinking about which one to go with. Paladin sounds like fun, but a Psion Avatar sounds like it'd be pretty awesome, too.
Or maybe the "divine spellcaster" bit. Be a Druid who can turn into either a Bear or a giant soldier.

I asked SO to move this, because, frankly, it really is more roleplaying than anything else.
Also, here is my character sheet!
http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=390563
At least the preliminary one. The last game smarty tried to run was sadly interrupted, so I just took the sheet from that game and changed a few things around. That's why I'm in a FR setting and am level 2.
Though, given that only my god and feats are FR, and smarty said anything goes, I don't think that consistency is mandatory here.
And I can drop Karl down to level 1, if we're gonna start at 1 instead, no problem.

Suggestions for other systems to play:
0 ed (EVERYBODY MUST PLAY FIGHTING-MAN)
Call of Cthulhu (Its going to be a standard film noir plot then Cthulhu eats you)
Star Wars (Half way through a cunning set of experiments will disprove the mystical properties of the force)
FATAL (Everybody wins)

So that is a vote for FATAL?

All votes are votes for fatal. Especially when they are not.

I reckon we should recreate 3rd ed but in GURPS.
Or vampire the masquerade but you are all twilight vampires.

You'll be using actually challenging monsters, right? It gets annoying when the party fighter kills each Tarrasque in the surprise round before the wizard can even start using his spells.

Lord Gaxtal has +64 to Performance (Dancefight). I may have been a little too tough.

Professor Smarmiarty

I think you might want to think that plan through a bit more.
Also don't murder the tarrasque you guys. That shit is endangered as.

Wait, we? Didya wanna join after all?
Edit: Also, how about we try to agree on an exact time?
I'm thinking sunday, 6:00 PM GMT. That's 7:00 PM for me, and between 1 PM and 11 AM for the Americans, depending on timezone.
Starting date, how about the 6th of January? That's more than 3 weeks, I know. But I don't think everyone's gonna have characters in time for the 16th December, and I'm gonna be visiting my parents for the 23rd and the 30th, so I'd be missing out on any sessions that happen before the 6th of January. I'm also not sure what you guys are doing. If you'd all prefer the 30th or the 23rd, I can jsut sit 2 sessions out and join up with you later, I wouldn't be too bothered.

Geminex' proposed time means I could show up intermittently, but he gave me a good idea to see if smarty would like. Basically I become an independent PC who shows up randomly to harass (but not interfere with) the party, sporting some really outrageous build and style (epic level and enough resistance that they won't be able to even hurt me for quite a while) you can even make it part of the plot or whatever. I already have some really good ideas that I'll PM you if you're open to the concept.
I'm thinking the benchmark for how annoying it should be will stay along the lines of using the crossbreeding rules to make a bagpipecordian.

Man, once we got times and shit and people, people should tell me what their playing and stuff. I assume we're still down for FRealms? I gotta give you some where to start so you can work out your character background and shit- how I work on this is is you can do as much shit as you want but more you do, more I can tie it into the campaign.
Also we should sort out where we playing and thingwats.

I'll be able to work stuff out starting tomorrow, because my last final is tomorrow morning.
I should be able to work out my character sheet then.

Sweet. What class are you considering?
Does anyone have any input on the times I posted? Sif and I are away over the holidays, not sure about you lot.
Locke cole

Champion. It's this cool base class brewed up by Rich Berlew. Basically, most of the time, the guy is a fairly weak warrior with low-power Divine magic, but several times a day, he can shapeshift into this crazy-strong "Avatar" form, in which he's basically a magical badass.
I posted a link to it earlier in the thread, I think. It's just a cool idea that I've waned to try out for some time.

I'm going to be playing a warhammer quest wizard.
Man does anyone want to play warhammer quest instead? That game was balls out amazing.

Man, got sidetracked by holidays and stuff. This is still happening, right? Because I still want to make my character sheets and get settled.
Professor Smarmiarty

Man nobody has told me shittttt.
Though this is ok if we are playing warhammer quest becaues you don't need to prepare shit for that.
Locke cole
12-26-2012, 04:46 PM
I don't know a thing about Warhammer Quest.
I was planning on making a character sheet for a Champion, but if you're set on doing another system...
Maybe I'll just start work on it today, and stop if the game is finallized to be a different system.

Well, I posted some times (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1218312&postcount=29) above, but apparently you are all so noble that responding to me is beneath you.
So let's give it another shot:
First, we are playing DnD. Like, I am 99% certain about that. Smarty is just being a silly. So let's work on that premise.
Second, time:
I'm thinking sunday, 6:00 PM GMT. That's 7:00 PM for me, and between 1 PM and 11 AM for the Americans, depending on timezone.
That will hopefully allow us all to eat dinner/lunch before we start playing, so we don't need to take food breaks.
In regards to venue, I had a look at Smarty's proposed google hangouts, and it looks like a really good place to do things. You would all need google+ accounts, and smarty would need to familiarize himself with the plugins we'll be using, but I think we can lock in Hangouts for our venue.
Now, starting date. Up above I suggested the 6th of January, because that's when I get back from holiday, but Sifright's gonna be gone as well, from what he's told me, and he won't be back till the evening of the 13th. Since he'll be tired as hell, it'd be more preferrable to start on the 20th of January.
Given that, other than me, nobody really has a character sheet yet, I don't think the 20th would be toooo late.
Input from you guys? Is the 20th good for you?
Locke cole
01-01-2013, 10:52 AM
I think the 20th would be fine. It'd give me ime o get my character together, or to drop out if I think I can't stay.
As for the times... 6:00 PM GST is 1:00 PM for me.
How long would a typical session go?
