Benedict Cumberbatch's ostensible terrorist role in 'Star Trek Into Darkness Without A Colon' (http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Star_Trek_Into_Darkness) is named John Harrison (http://www.iwatchstuff.com/2012/12/cumberbatch-and-alice-eves-star-trek-rol.php) which, as has been observed by numerous bloggers, is a much more boring name than Benedict Cumberbatch.

Obviously Carol Marcus being in the movie and some imagery used in the trailer indicate we might be headed into 'Search for Spock' territory, but seeing as we're still kind of supposed to be watching stuff before the 5 year mission of 2265-to-2270, if that even happens, Muppet-Baby Kirk and Company clearly have other things to do.

Not only am I disappointed that Alice Eve isn't playing girl from that episode with Gary Mitchell in favor of the obvious role of Nurse Chapel, I'm doubly disappointed that she's not playing Nurse Chapel in favor of Carol Marcus.

Can we just have Star Trek movies that don't involve a bunch of people demanding some amount of Wrath of Khan dickriding?

I still don't know how I feel about this film. I'm still trying to balance the fact that Benedict Cumberbatch is quite sexy with my violent, burning, overwhelming apathy toward the new Star Tracks Now With 1500% More Lens Flare. ...Maybe if it's in the local Redbox someday, I dunno.
