Aliens vs Predators

Alright, fuck it, let's do this.

Here is a series due to a properly done, actually GOOD reboot... Predator. This is a series worth saving, alright? And you wanna know why? Cause Aliens had a shot... and on the Sci Fi world, people say that Aliens are the most horrifying things in the galaxy... Sci-fi greatest horrors!

Well, i'm here to tell you that Aliens are Chumps. Chumps.

After seeing what they managed to do with Dredd and so many other series and movies, i really want to see some Predator action on the big Screen. Not that SyFy Channel bullshit AvP that ran the series into the ground... no. Let's dump out the stupid ass aliens all together, you get me a modern city on a bad day, you put a god damn predator on that city, and you follow it around with a camera.

You don't even need a freaking script, just Mad Lib it. It will be fine.

Also, Predators is one of the series that scared the living shit out of me when i was little, Aliens just bored me. I didn't want to watch it cause it was tens of minutes of boring followed by a lot of noise and a scare... lame sauce i say!

Now, Predator? Predator is fucking scary.Sure, he got blasted by Murtaugh of all people on the second movie... but c'mon!

As for the horror aspect, well.. think about that... Aliens are scary in close quarters, Predators can make you feel unsafe in open space.

Well, depending on who the director is, Xenomorphs don't exactly mean 'horror' either. See, Alien as compared to the sequels to Alien.

Predators are probably just as flexible. It could be just straight up Extreme Most Dangerous Game, or you could tone it way down and have a Predator act all Slendy-like to torment one guy all psychological.

Predators did also have the noticeable flaw of the big selling point being that there's more than one predator... and then just having them come and attack one at a time.

Oh boy, a discussion about 2 of my favourite series ever. Erm, both are equally great, Predator 2 is an excellent movie and sequel, but Aliens is still the superior movie, alongside T2. Sorry Smarty.

Predators was quite good, but it was lacking in... something.

I liked Predators. I wouldn't mind Rodriguez actually having a go at making a decent Aliens vs. Predators movie.

I dunno, judging by the examples of the previous AvPs. Though admittedly the problem with the first was it was made a PG-13, which is the very definition of stupid. As for Requiem, it has no excuse for being the worst piece of crap ever put on film, yet somehow it managed to be so on every level.

Still, I'd prefer another AvP than another Alien prequel. God Prometheus sucked.

The thing with AvP is the same with Freddy v Jason, as smarty said the focus is too much on the monsters, it looses the allure of the unknown and gets campy...

Hell, make a direct sequel to Predator 2 in modern times... you can even have Old Paranoid Danny Glover in there as the only guy who understand the signs of what's really going on.

If you wanna make it stupid, make it as a found footage movie, Cloverfield style... it's stupid but it would go down easier than AvP at this point...

Predator 2 took a shitty movie, took the best bits of it and improved them, threw out the bad bits and put in new good bits. It'd be a good movie even if the Predator never showed up.
Aliens 2 took the first movie and just got rid of the thriller aspects and just put in more guns. It's the Micheal Bay approach to a sequel.
And Terminator 2 starred a douchebag kid who you wanted to die. And it completely destroyed the rules established in the original film.

AvP 1...wasn't all that bad if you were expecting something like it.

AvP Requiem? I made the mistake of watching the Unrated version right after the first...it was Blair Witch 2 all over again!

Ok, i know of that film, i have not seen it, people tell me it sucks. Does it suck?If you watched the trailers, it sucked hard. If you didn't see any of the trailers, then it was an okay movie.

They digitally altered the trailers to make it look like there were far more Predators in the movie than there really were. I can't seem to find it right now, but there was a guy who wrote a long and angry review, demanding that the movie company owed him for falsely advertising the number of Predators in the movie and they cut him a check.

I really think they just kept missing the point after Predator 2 y'know? "MOAR GUNZ" "MOAR PRAHDATURS"... you do that and it's not predator any more, it's just dudes. Space dudes fighting earth dudes. That's not cool...

I would just like to take his moment to address a certain issue, namely, the idea that Predators are "honourable" and "handicap" themselves. They dont. In the first film, the Pred spends the entire movie in stealth mode blasting people. He shoots down a chopper that doesn't know he's there, his first on-screen kill he stabs a guy in the back who doesn't know he's there, 2 minutes later he shoots another guy in the back who doesn't know he's there. His last kill is even against an unnarmed, injured man who didn't have a chance to fight back.

The only point where he loses his tech is after Arnie disables his stealth with explosives, and he still blasts apart a forest in a mindless pursuit of his target. He later removes his helmet and uses hand to hand on Arnie, but it's not out of honour, it's because he's pissed! He immediately proceeds to beat the ever loving shit out of his enemy and despite having a massive pair of blades on his arm that can finish him at pretty much any time, he doesn't outright kill him, he's toying with him. And then he gets all moody and blows himself up once he's defeated. Whiney whingebag.

The second pred is even worse, he doesn't even pretend to have a fair fight. The first 2 fights in the second film he hacks up rooms full of fully armed men with all of his advanced tech and basically just takes a different approach to combat. Where the first pred was a sniper/hunter, the 2nd guy is a berzerker/blood knight. The only "fair" fight he has is against the guy in the alley with the sword, but he still remains invisible. And the only people he doesn't kill are just those he doesn't consider prey, because it wouldn't be fun to kill them.

Basically Predators are no more honourable than human hunters on safari hiding in a bush with an overpowered rifle.
