I posted about this (http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/794/) here around 18 months ago and generally made an ass of myself. I figured I'd try again, as I'm back to work on it as of this writing.

I'm rewriting the script, and I've included many bugfixes, courtesy of romhacking.net. Most people seem to prefer the GBA version, but I can't stand it, so I guess in a way, I'm really just doing it for myself. Why not, I figured?

It's got a different flavor from any of the current official releases, and since Square-Enix seems perfectly happy to ignore VI and release utter shit (http://www.penny-arcade.com/report/editorial-article/final-fantasy-all-the-bravest-on-ios-is-a-steaming-pile-of-in-app-purchasin) instead, I thought I'd show it some love.

I can post some screenshots, probably near the end of the week, when I get done with text formatting. I'm about a third of the way through at the moment.

Oh, yeah, I remember this. I can't remember my particular problems with it. I remember I had problems with the literal translation one that whats-their-names did a long time ago, it was different from yours somewhat.

The GBA version seemed like a good balance between the Woolsey script and the literal translation of the Japanese.

EDIT: Ye gods that All The Bravest sounds like some terrible shit. But I mean, it is an iOS product, it's not as if many of those are not terrible shit...

What was the last decent non-main series title they even released? 4 Warriors of Light?

Eh they do it out of pride. They can't bring themselves to admit that FFVI (and FFIX) was the peak of the franchise.

Besides last I check, FFVI is getting a remake on the 3DS currently in the works.

You know, most of my revised script is just a mish-mash of Woolsey, Sky Render and Slattery. My own personal touches are a bit harder to spot, but I did have a bit of fun here and there.

Oh, yeah, Sky Render. I hated his/her translation. It's not as if Woolsey made changes entirely at random, some of them were for very good reasons...

I agree with you, and that's why my script is mostly Woolsey. I change a word here or there to give it a more "spoken word" flavor. The old phrase "If it ain't on the page, it ain't on the stage" was my guideline. I wanted it to sound like something a person would say.
