So much in this trailer...having read the books, I can identify most of it, but some of it is still confusing me, particularly what that one castle is. Dragonstone from the outside? Storm's End finally? I dunno.

I'd go with Dragonstone and say that's Edric Storm being rowed away in the boat. Or Davos being rowed to the castle. When they rowed into Storm's End it was at night, but they seemed to have transplanted that scene into Renly's death and I can't really see them doing it/showing it twice.
Really looking forward to this season actually though. It'll be the first season where I've read the book before seeing the season.

Aww, and here I was hoping we'd continue the tradition (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showthread.php?t=39910&highlight=winter+is+coming) of themed naming (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showthread.php?t=41559&highlight=cold+winds+are+rising) for these threads, perhaps an appropriate "Valar Marghulis, bitches" this time. Now I am dissapoint.
But yes looking forward to this, hopefully it'll be better than last season, which had some poor episodes and a bit too much diverging from the books. At least Deanarys gets more to do this time around, can't wait for the arrival of the Unsullied.
Unfortunately I recall that Tyrion and Arya don't get as much to do at this point in the story. Also is it still confirmed that they're splitting this next book across 2 seasons? So we won't get some of the more epic stuff until next year now.

I was hoping to finish The Wheel of Time and read all of the books before Season 3 started, but alas, life got in the way. Still, love this series from the TV-only perspective. Eagerly awaiting this latest season. I read a while ago that they are splitting the third book into Season 3 and 4, is that still true?

In Europe, A Storm of Swords was split into two volumes, 'Steel and Snow' and 'Blood and Gold' but I don't think they'll split it at the same place the books did.

While in general seasons 3 and 4 are being split between the first and second halfs of A Storm of Swords, the producers have said they are taking some liberties with moving around particular events to give all the characters things to do and keep characters who are not seen at all in A Storm of Swords (or A Feast for Crows, for that matter) doing things in each season.
So while I can assume this season ends with the RW, certain characters were pushed back to Season 4 (such as Oberyn Martell), since they do not very much in the first half of the book. On the other hand, stuff that happens in some of the later books has been moved up to Season 3. So presumably at least some of the pacing issues with the conversion to the TV format have been worked out...
