FF1 Controls for NEStron

Hi, I'm new to the site :)

I just got FF1 for my NEStron emulator. I can get to where you select your team members and I can choose my first one but I can't move the hand over to the other so I can choose the other team members. :confused: I may sound stupid, but I'm clueless. What are the controls for FF1 on the NEStron?

If I remember properly this is an old school game. It's not the controls your clueless on....put spaces in to finish the name and it automatically goes to the next person.

No, you see I can't even change their names... I can surf through all the character choise on the top left square but nothing else. :rolleyes: Help?

EDIT: I figured it out. Thanks for your help, though. If anyone knows, what are the exact controls? I figured out that "s" is the interact button and the arrow keys move you around. Is there anything else I should know?

Ah, the good old NES emulator I remenber when I got my first was it not hell to find to find it took about a week... Did you try pressing every button 'cause that's how I got it. But I think my crontrols were Ctrl, Tab and Shift or Caps Locks? Try these they are probably the wrong ones but you can give it a try.

How about....if you are having trouble finding the buttons....go into Options....Input.....Player 1 Controls.....and reassigning them to ones you can understand?

Actually these are the standard controls for NEStron:

A -> Keyboard x

B -> Keyboard z

Start -> Keyboard Enter

Select -> Keyboard Right Shift



I believe you have to push A to select the Light Warrior of your choice...so X button.

Thanks for all the help guys. I have one last question. When in battle does everyone have to do something or can you skip over a party member and they do nothing? I know I can beat Imps with one shot but I still have to go through everyone...

No you cannot skip other party menbers.

GAH! I understand all the controls and such, but the color schemes are all messed up! The grass is black for god's sake! I tried seeing if FF1 was the only game with messed up colors and it isn't... I went through all the graphic options on the NEStron but they don't help. How do I fix the colors?

Yeah, getting another emulator is probably the best choice. I use FCE Ultra myself and have never had any problems.
