I've got a tekkit lite server running on my home computer. You can connect to it using sithcraft.dnsdynamic.net if you're interested. Might be a little laggy as it is running on my home computer under windows. If it gets too bad I'll switch over to linux and see what I can do about reducing the lag.

Is it up 24/7, maintenance and other downtime notwithstanding?
Also, are any mods disabled or items restricted?

I can only assume you've disabled Mystcraft, since it can be huge drain on resources, but other than that?

It's literally just running off my home PC and I never turn off my PC so its should be up unless something needs to be changed or I lose power. I also literally just downloaded the tekkit lite server, unzipped it, fired it up, and pointed a free dynamic DNS at it. It took all of maybe 60 seconds to set it up.

As soon as I get the money together I was planning on putting together a linux machine to set up to just practice with linux in general. I figured I might as well have something to run on it so the server as it is now is kind of a pretest in preparation for that. As such at some point I'll have this moved onto its own machine and will probably move that machine to someplace with better internet connectivity. To make a long story short I'm totally open to suggestions on things to do to improve the server because up to this point I've put in like zero effort and nothing is costing me any money at all. Though it really does seem to be working decently with relatively little lag right now.

Well. I have no idea how many people will end up playing this, but one thing you should probably do is disable Mystcraft.

Every dimension (or Age) loads it's own world that stays loaded in memory.
Get enough people opening Ages... well.

Trains grinding to a halt is one of the images that come to mind.

EDIT: At any rate, I'll pop on at some point. Try to build something nice. Maybe get a farm going, or something.

Server Updated to 0.6.1 adjust your clients accordingly and enjoy the pure joy of new mods like Dimensional Doors.

Just clean out the Mystcraft world files every week, or when it starts eating up resources. The Linking books are far too useful to not have if you spawn in a public-use Link Modifier block.

So I turned on the whitelist, if you've already logged in I probably added you to it. Also, added forge essentials so there are commands now. Just have to figure out how to set the permissions and stuff.

Edit: Screw the whitelist since the permissions system seems to be working.

Had an issue with what I think was a corrupted junk so I had to restore a backup from about midnight last night. You might have lost some of your work. Sorry about that.

I lied (again) the server address has actually changed to sithcraft.dnsdynamic.net:8443. Its a much much better port.
