SO I've just recently got done watching Detentionaire on Youtube, and as far as I'm concerned its the best cartoon Canada has ever made. The basic premises is that a highschool kid gets framed for a bigass prank, and gets detention for a whole year, but every day he's sneaking out to gather evidence to prove his innocence (breaking rules to prove that he didn't break any rules), while gradually uncovering a sinister brainwashing plot of ever growing complexity, that seems to be connected to his own past.
Highlights of the show include:
- cool asian protagonist who's only nerdy in useful ways
- a main character's love interest who's pretty independant, smart and cool.
- A tech savy Bully who is surprisingly friendly and helpful and loves kittens
- cyborg drill sergeant principal mothas!
- Hidden depths from a lot of the major characters, even the dumbest ones have moments of cleverness
- A miniature dragon thing as the school's mascot
- Loads of adults that are either useless or antagonistic
- All the girls dressing fairly conservatively, even the mean bitchy ones
- Hazmat suited people as the school's janitors
- And apparently some evil corporation that has some big part in it
And here's some favorite episodes to get us started:

As far as I know its only been shown in Canada and Australia (for some reason the latter got to see episodes earlier than the former) I thought I once heard it was going to make it to the UK, but I haven't heard any fresh news on that. And I'm pretty sure the 3rd season is set to start sometime soon.
