So you might have noticed that The Dreadful's update schedule has been a bit off and on lately. Well, I've been working on another project for a few months now and I've been unable to keep up with my Dreadful business. I'm out of pages, so The Dreadful is going to have to go on a small hiatus until I get this other project finished.

I wish I had planned for this a little better, because this would've been the perfect time for another Guest Comic Contest.

So is this other project a "I'll have something neat to share with you all soon" type of project or a "Local man arrested for tethering swarms of trained bees to fruit and loosing them in the park" type project?

Edit: Since when have we had a ninja-post warning system and why is it Lost in Space themed?

Well, it's a fancomic. It's not specific to nuklearpower, but if Brian doesn't mind I'd like to post it here as a sort of "thanks for your patience" thing.

(It'll be like a between chapters bonus, even though it's not Dreadful related)

(It's not HIKYM, though it's similar genre-wise)

Sounds fun. :)

If it's not HIKYM, but similar genre wise, I would be highly surprised if it isn't a story around [character] from [often abbreviated media].

Like literally since the wee hours this morning, and because the developer made it for himself first before releasing it to the vBulletin community (and I didn't care to edit the phrase).

Ah so that explains why it's "Lost in Space" themed. It's strangly fitting for this place.

Anyway this fan comic sounds interesting Speroni. Can't wait to see it!

Also if it's ok to ask, how long is it? Is it a few pages or a whole chapter (5+ pages)?

I'm currently at 32 pages, which isn't very much considering I've been working on it for a few months, but things kinda went awry with planning. I kinda over-planned it and now I'm having to do a lot of editing so I can tighten things up.

Maybe I'm slow, but it took us awhile to get HIKYM to the point where we could post it, and the same happened when I started The Dreadful... Like, you gotta develop a story, find research, design characters (or in this case figure out how to draw pre-existing ones), write the pages, draw the pages, etc. Plus beginnings are super hard for me to do on top of it. So it doesn't surprise me that it's taken so long. (The Dreadful took nearly two months before I had enough material to start posting it)

I'm nearly done though! I'm looking forward to getting back to Dreadful business.

That sounds to me like it's a large chunk of awesome to be dropped upon folks as a fun packaged thing, hardly worth being upset over no Dreadful for a little bit.

Is it a one-off project, in the sense that when you're done what you're working on now it will be "complete" (even if it's released page-by-page alongside the Dreadful), or will it too continue onward?

If Brian lets me upload it on nuklearpower I plan on posting it in large chunks. Tall comics similar to Warbot and the Epilogue.

There are a few other sites I'm going to post it (one of which is my Deviant Art page) so even if Brian won't let me post it here, it will be somewhere.

Unless it's extremely well received, I won't be doing more than this first chapter.

Yeah I know what you mean. Creating a story, the world its set in, the characters it's about, ect, it all takes time, practice, and research to do. But that hard work is almost always worth it in the end. :)

A delayed work will eventually turn out good.

Just a minor recommendation. When the comic does pick up again, try to make the sheriff's undead corpse reflect the amount of road rash that might be picked up from being dragged the x-amount of weeks the comic will be in hiatus.

And please let this only be a hiatus. I'd hate to see another project started & just go nowhere on the website. There's been a bit too much of this.

Heck, Brian suggested we might get a new Warbot in Accounting ages ago, and that doesn't seem like its going to happen either.

Last I recall he said something to the effect of "There's only so many jokes you can make on the premise, really." and that was about it...

Because I mean, there's only so many jokes you can make on that premise...really!

Yeah but this is Brian. If we took out all the repeated jokes 8 bit would've been like ten pages long.
