How many people here have played Morrowind? I've been trying to drum up support on a morrowind fan forum for a mod to add apparel and weapons from the 8BT characters. People seem to be somewhat interested, but I figured I'd post here to ask for permission from BC and also tell y'all of it at the same time.

I've completely taken all of the challenge out of Morrowind. I play the counsel, game of the year, version and in about 6 hours of play I max out all of my major skills and most of my minor ones, hit level 20 sometimes 30+. Plus I'm wearing the Boots of Blinding speed, with no ill effects, full Daedric or glass armor, have a daedric Katana, and Azura's Star. Not to mention 300+ k gold from making Oridnators fight me and selling their armor to the mud crab. Oh and yeah I'm usually the head of two guilds and a great house. Other than that its quite challenging and I haven't even begun to explore it fully, though I have completed the main quest.
The reason I get so powerful is becuase I friend lent my his printed out quest guide, which I memorized the main quests for the guilds and houses from, and gave me a little help with some exploits. If I played normally I'm sure it would be a lot better. I do have the computer version but my computer lacks the power to display it right, which is soon to be corrected. The 8-bit stuff sounds like a good ideal. Maybe someone could pull off a miracle and make Sword Chucks.
Wow. It took me about 3 months to take the challenge out of Morrowind, and that was when my character didn't need the boots of blinding speed, wore no armor and yet still couldn't be hit, somehow had his major attributes over maxed out, and so forth. I think I somehow became a vampire, but it didn't show because of the disease immunity that you get during the main quest, so I just got all of the benefits without the drawbacks.
What really would be amazing is if someone devoted their time to make a mod that atleast added Corneria to Morrowind, along with apparel. It's an idea, but it would be very hard to do, alas. But yeah.

I'm still playing it. I love it. To bits. I don't actually *want* to complete it, because I adore just roaming around Vvardenfell and taking in the scenery. I can get so completely lost in that game... haven't played it for a while though. I really should.
And yeah, the 8-bit stuff should be good.

I haven't played Morrowind, yet. But I hold the same opinion Splinter has, though for Neverwinter Nights.
Hell, I took my character sheet and made an in game version of Bigs Gridley, my Dwarven Monk [though he prefers the name Pugilist]
two words: Great game. Glitchy, but the gameplay makes up for it. Sounds like a good idea to me
One bug that I used to exploit Morrowind was in the Thieves Guild in Balmora (Which has now been fixed, thanks to the people at Bethesda. Thank you!):
Join the Theives Guild first of all, then when ever you have a bounty you can never, ever pay, just go to the person at the bar, drop ALL of your money before talking to him. Then talk to him, it will count the gold as depleted, as yet you aren't carrying any. So thus you get the bounty off your head with no gold/time taken away from you!
The next game I expect to play this hardcore is probably Fable. I still play Morrowind now. Whats your favorite book in Morrowind?

Great game. All it needs is a MMORPG based off of it or at least a sequel.
I'd really love to see that mod, and would offer to help, but I know little about the Construction Set. :(
For my char, once I get lots of $$ and get high stats, I work on furnishing a mansion with one-of-a-kind items and pillows (there's a lot of them out there*). Anyone else here run into a glove called Gamollputty? (I probably mispelled it, but there's nothing else with a similar name). Lots of stat effects with that one, and kinda hard to obtain.
Favorite book? I think it's called 'ABCs for barbarians' (the title alone did it for me on that one)
*ding!* idea.
There should be some contest as to who can find and collect the most pillows in 6 hours of play. I dont know what the prize would be, but I'm sure it'd be interesting. Just submit the save game file, count the pillows which must be stored in one place, and include a penalty for bounty.
How about everyone's favorite item in the game?
Mine would be the scroll of ictarian flight. the delivery alone constitues greatness.
me: *walking along a path*
(faint screaming is heard from unknown direction)
me: ?
(screaming gets louder)
me: wtf? *looks up*
(body of man falls from the sky and dies on the ground right next to me ... a scroll lies beside him)
me: I gotta get me some of that. *picks up scroll for fortify jump 1000pts* oh yeah.

I have more mods for Morrowind than I care to count. Once I get back home I'll post my list. Personal favorite weapons are a dual sai/bow & arrow setup, using Dark Brotherhood armor. Favorite spell is my homemade Omega. 200 pts of Fire, Cold, Shock, and Damage Health, in a 250 ft. Radius, with a light intensity of 1000 for 10 sec. It looks awesome.

Yeah well I got all Daedric Armor, Daedric Katana, Daedric Crescent (Unique), Daedric Dai-Katana, Daedric Axes hammers, axes....everything Daedric in the Game, then I found enough of the High quality soul Gems, the gold ones its been a while since I've played, and enchanted them all. My Helmet gave me night eye, my gauntlets strength increase, boots speed increase, basically I just got the best enchantments on them, and am the leader of the mages guild, the Assasin (Morrotong or something), head of the house that doesn't mind you killing of their officials (HEY I played it back when it first came out on). And managed to keep this nifty steam guardian guy alive (You get him for doing some quest and he follows you everywhere, all you have to do is keep him alive).
Oh yeah and I killed enough Ordinators to make the most UBER spells ever. I had a seperate spell for fortify Strength, Intellegence, Dexterity, Jump, Etc, Etc, for as long as possible. I use to use my fortify Jump spell to move around Vivic when I got bored. (On A side note I KILLED VIVIC! God he was hard as hell to kill)
And I maxed out all my major and minor skills, hit the max level and everything was max (except for Luck.) My recommandations for maxing out your skill is finding a strategy guide that tells you the location of all the secret masters (they can raise a certain skill to level 100, one for each skill.)
Yeah my guy was as Uber as you could get, although my friends called my obsessed.
Enough about me... some mods would be pretty nice. Oh yeah anyone ever get so bored that they spelled out their name in pillows in a town square then used a jump or levitation spell, or a combination to view it from the air.

If you want pillows, check out the chick that had you kill off the cave rats in her house. She has over 100 pillows in her house alone.
Yeah, I'm obsessed. I found that glitch that lets you raise your skill by one level for only one gold. It takes a long time, though.
I love doing the Imperial Legion quests because you get free armor. I love the Lord's Mail.
What's even more fun to do is raid the Treasuries in Vivec. You get Glass armor in Hlaalu and Ebony armor in Redoran, plus a shitload of jewels and stuff. In my stronghold, I just have bowls full of pearls, rubies, emeralds, and ebony.
My favorite book has to be Chance's Folly. It's just a strange book.

Yeah when I got my strronghold I started actually putting stuff in places that made sense. I put armor and shelves and stuff. then out of nowhere appears a "Overflow Treasure Chest" that has over 1000 peices of armor that I use to have on display. And did anyone else "claim" their own houses before getting strongholds. I did especially te shops without guards and some shops with guards. He should've sold me the Draegor armor instead of just having it on display. oh yeah did anyone abuse their mercantile skill. I would buy from shopkeepers and sell to others for twice as much.

These are stats from my Counsel character which I got in game, (I used a glitch.)
Level 45
Strength 310
Intelligence 255
Willpower 109
Agility 91
Speed 267 (Without the boots of blinding speed)
Endurance 100
Personality 92
Luck 128
My bedroom in my stronghold is covered in rare items and every shelve and chest is full. As for enchanting look up Azura Star it is better then a grand soul gem and isn't destroyed. If I put on all my enchanted items I fly, have 100pt light, 130% chameleon, and Nighteye 50%.
I lead:
Hlaalu
Fighters Guild
Mages Guild
Morag Tong
Temple
Imperial Cult
Ashlanders
Blades
Imperial Legion
East Empire Company

Abusing your skills is so much fun. But like you said, I had even more fun just stealing from the stores.
And you got a chest? I was wondering what happened to some of my stuff. Has anyone ever found that some of their stuff went missing? I figured that a thief just stole some of my stuff.
Anyway, I like helms. I take all my stuff off of the shelves, and place all kinds of helms. My prize one is a kind of mask that raises your personality a shitload, and it has a high armor rating. And I have books thrown everywhere, not to mention my bowls of jewels. And I have swords all over my bed. I collect swords and helms.
