View Full Version : PBS to maybe bring back Carmen Sandiego.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssss. (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/16/carmen-sandiego-returning-pbs_n_3604059.html?utm_hp_ref=entertainment&ir=Entertainment)
Calling all gumshoes: "Carmen Sandeigo" could be returning to PBS.
The network posted the below photo on Instagram and shared it on its official Tumblr, hinting at the return of the popular character and series "Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?"
http://instagram.com/p/brh2lDjEai/
The caption reads: Where in the world did this come from? Stay tuned for something awesome!" After speculation took off on Tumblr, PBS posted an update: "Update!!! We have one clue for you -- this is not about new episodes, but will be appreciated by any 90s kid. Stay tuned!"
It appears the network could be getting ready to rebroadcast the 1990s TV series. A rep for PBS confirmed there won't be new episodes of the series at this time, but PBS is "working on something that 90s kids will enjoy from a nostalgia perspective."
Sadly, it looks like they're just planning on showing re-runs at this time. But if this thing takes off like I want it too, we could have a new game-show in no time and a new cartoon again and maybe a live-action movie.....and and and.....I miss Carmen Sandiego. :3:

I cry at how little I actually remember of that show :(
It's okay. PBS will reacquaint you with it soon enough.

I'm guessing the game show since that was always their thing (not only Where in the World but Where in Time), whereas the cartoon was on FOX.

What I liked about the Cartoon was how they gave Carmen a character. She was the first antagonist I was introduced to that didn't do evil for its own sake or even personal game but ultimately out of boredom. Which was a pretty new thing at the time for a kids show and especially an educational one.

This was entirely true for me as well.
She was pretty daggum awesome.
Also the characters were pretty cool too.
The game show was good, but I wasn't as into it because... it wasn't a cartoon.
EDIT: something weird just happened where the forum told me that I have to wait 30 seconds between posts (although I hadn't posted and it didn't show up) and then told me I made a duplicate post (and presumably that it was ignoring the second post, though I didn't have time to read the whole message). Anyway, that was strange. Wait! Carmen must have stolen my post!

To the Shymobile!
I only seat four passengers with someone jammed in the middle of the back seat. Depending on the turnout someone's either going in the trunk or lashed to the roof.

Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego? (1994-1999)
An animated series based on the 'Carmen Sandiego' line of computer games. The world-renowned thief Carmen Sandiego has, with the help of her henchmen, stolen the landmarks of the world, and it's up to ACME Detective Agency sleuths Zack and Ivy to get them back. Like the computer game, this show's primary goal was to build up kids' knowledge of geography and world culture.
