Define online RPG?
Do you mean like freeform Text-Based, an online DnD-type game, a MUD, or a MMORPG?

I would also help if you defined what was "not good" to give a context of what your looking for.

yeah, give us some more to go on... and whether or not you want to pay to play it.

Lady G probably won't be logging on for a few more days, judging by the past... so we'll just have to guess (unless she actually gets on today as well as yesterday, which is pretty rare from the other threads I've seen where she asks for help).
Anyway, if you're talking about MUDs, I'd suggest atp.mud.hu port: 3000
If you're talking about free form text, I would suggest logging more and checking our own RP section... same with DnD over the net... except it's usually not DnD but other systems that end up going on.
If a MMORPG, well, I don't like those, so um... ask someone else.

If you're talking about a MUD, I would suggest avatar.outland.org:3000. Beyond that, I don't play any online RPGs.
As for MMORPGs, I've heard Ragnarok Online is quite good. Also FFXI is supposedly extremely addicting. I've played niether, so don't take my word for it.

As far as MMOs are concerned, I hear City of Heroes is pretty good. Other than that, I'd wait. Guild Wars, Everquest 2, and World of Warcraft are all set to be released soon.

Drakolan: Agreed, on the MMORPG front City of Heroes is the most fun right now. World of Warcraft is looking amazing, and has had a ton of good press. Everquest 2 I've not heard a lot about but will ceraintly have a huge fanbase moving over to it. And Guild Wars I hear is gonna be free (as in no monthly fees)? Maybe I just heard that though.
Some of my favorites would have to be the text based MUD called materia magica, and Phantasia

Free as in beer? I seriously doubt that most quality video games on the Net are free, except for FPSs. If you find one, let us know, mmkay? As for the ones that aren't free, the devs have to eat.
MMORPG - Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. Actually an Adventure style game, with RPG rules for battle and such.
If you're looking for fantasy, then try Everquest, Ragnarok Online, or Final Fantasy XI. They are all very popular, but not free. If looking for a GOOD game, try City of Heroes, which, while not fantasy, is very good. These are all the MMORPGs I know. Look at their sites, via Google, for more info.
MUDS - Multi User Dungeon. The precursor to MMORPGs. I'm not familar with them, but This guy apparently is (http://www.lysator.liu.se/mud/faq/faq1.html). If you don't know how to "telnet", then goto the Run option in your Start menu, and type telnet. Tada! (assuming you use windows. If not, then you oughta already know how.)
Free-form text based, online Dnd sessions - the first can be found in the Roleplaying section of the forum. The latter is usually done in a chat room, amongst friends. A game of Dungeons and Dragons, or similar table-top RPGs, is played out, only instead of on a table the converstion takes place on the chat program. Probably not what you're looking for, but I don't know.
