I got into this series recently and something about it I just love. Maybe its just me but it seems like a Japanese series inspired by western comics. With the main character having a rather plain but most western style outfit and the tendency for such universes to be filled with monsters, mad scientists, and alien invaders because... well hero has to fight someone.

One thing I find really interesting is that this series was originally a webcomic. If you want to check out the webcomic (http://galaxyheavyblow.web.fc2.com/) (though is obviously japanese) but has been re-released by Shonen Jump and translated into english by the same. Art by the guy that did Eyeshield 21. First chapter is free on jump/viz website. I cant link to it sadly because I found it through the app and dont know how to link the web address.

I think what I enjoy best is this is much how I figure someone like Superman would actually be like. Completely detached and bored. The character is named for being so absurdly powerful he can defeat anyone with one punch. At first I thought, wow that sounds boring, but the series plays it all to a great comedic effect and I am a sucker for over the top dark humor.

Anyways just sharing because the more I'm reading the more I'm liking this and its been awhile since I've been looking forward to more of a series this much

[edit]Oh and here is the webcomic of the re-release (http://tonarinoyj.jp/manga/onepanman/1/) obviously still japanese but thought I should share it too

It's a fantastic series so far.

Sometimes it does things I'm not fond of ( "look at five pages of this explosion happening aaaand we're out of pages, see you next time!" ) but other than that it's great, yeah.

ahh yes, one punch man. Damn fine stuff.

Pri Pri Prisoner, or puff puff prisoner as sometimes called, is best hero following OPM.
