Stop the presses! Pixar is working on a new film with the characters from the Incredibles (https://twitter.com/DisneyPixar/status/445989767986315264)! And another Cars movie but the important thing is Incredibles!!!!!!!!

Another Cars? It's amusing how Cars movies are the worst Pixar movies yet Disney asks them to make more because they sell Hot Wheels. That Not-Really-Pixar-But-Disney-Can-Cash-In-On-Franchise-Money movie Planes was a commercial flop yet Disney has a firefighter-themed sequel lined up because little boys like firefighters and they can remarket the planes toys as firefighter recolors
As for the Incredibles, ehhh. Not my favorite Pixar, but ok.They've been doing a lot of sequels lately and will likely continue since Brave didn't do so well. On the other hand, the Toy Story trilogy shows Pixar can make good sequels when they feel like it, so maybe an Incredibles 2 will be okay. Assuming they pick a good original storyline and don't default to "Dad feels overwhelmed/out of touch because teenage daughter starts dating/ son is growing up, wacky yet heartwarming hijinks ensue. With superpowers. "

Eh, going over their list of films (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Pixar_films): I find both A Bug's Life and Ratatouille less compelling than the first two Cars movies.

Planes... wasn't very good. It also missed much of the lesson that came from Cars, sadly.

I think Brave was just sold incorrectly - I went in wanting and expecting a different movie. It was much better the second or third time 'round.
As far as The Incredibles 2, regardless of how they handle it, I suspect very strongly that, more than just super-powered menaces, it's going to be about the personal crisis(es?) of one (or more) of the family members.
That's what really makes the Pixar movies work - the strong character growth and personal development through crisis.
Also, The Incredibles is awesome! Super excited!
