Don't talk to her... because she's a witch who made him drunk? Because he doesn't appear to be very drunk right now. Either that, or he's calling dibs because he 'loves her' and demands the opportunity to court her properly according to the traditions of his people.

You can sober up to the point where you're functional enough to move around/have conversations/charge out of a bar yelling at people in a relatively short amount of time.
He is a beefy elf, after all.

All elves are lightweights, this is indisputable fact and reason why they drink wine instead of real drinks. A high Str score does not mean a high Con score.

Maybe he was raised by dwarfs.
Liberal Hippie Social Justice Fighter Dwarfs of Chaotic Good alignment.
Free-Cheese Dwarven Democrats who would have a lot of Beard Guilt and adopt an elf just so they can feel good about themselves.

The server's being funny and B-dawg's gotta do some traveling this weekend. Not sure if there will be a Dreadful update this week or not.
There might be! I dunno how fixing this stuff goes or how long it takes.
One of the many reasons I've been hesitant to get The Dreadful its own site is because I'm sure every problem I could have with it would happen in like one day and I'd have no idea how to fix it.

If you're using wordpress to manage a website for Dreadful, it really isn't so bad. If you base your design off a pre-existing theme you can have something stable, up and running in a relatively short amount of time.
If you're talking more about server issues though (Apache I'm guessing?), from my own experiences they're usually not as scary as they seem - sometimes you update wordpress and an old, noncompliant plugin is referencing a deprecated jquery function or something of the like. I'd be happy to be a resource if you decided to go down that path, for what it's worth.

I dunno what the issues are with the site or the server. Brian manages 100% of that. I just make pages and mail them to him. :)
I will probably base whatever site I eventually make for The Dreadful (assuming I make a site for The Dreadful) loosely on the design here. I prefer a simpler look/feel to things. Would prefer no adverts or banners. I'd love to sustain myself simply via paypal or patreon donations.
Kirbyslaboratory
07-01-2014, 08:14 AM
Banners aren't entirely necessary - you can get relatively inexpensive webhosting that's fairly robust without the need to support with ads. I use hostgator for my personal use - costs me about $10 a month which I think is more than affordable. I'd have to look at the bandwidth breakdown but they've been great to me so far. Others have reported success with Dreamhost. I know your plans are really preliminary right now but I just thought I'd throw those out there.
Simple is good. Design isn't my forte but if that were to be a base I think it's a good place to start.

I don't think Liz really cares about Kit's predicament.Considering that she was lying awake in her bed before hearing about Kit, it seemed that the news worked as some sort of sedative. That happens to me sometimes when I can't decide between two different things. One one hand this, on the other hand that, on one hand this, on the other hand that... It's like a loop, and it gets very tiring and usually makes me take a nap to reboot the brain. I really hate making those decisions where there's no clear winner.

The magical shrinking/expanding power of the Shew Stone explains why Sabueso is able to keep it hidden without needing any kind of special bag/box/pouch.
Though since Sabueso is of a Liefeldian Inspiration, maybe an extra pouch (or 12) would've been apropos.

Well, the main plot of the comic is Kit wanting to kill Jeanne so she can save Poe. All this other stuff is what's getting in her way.
I wanted an uncomplicated idea to hold it together so I could have an excuse for Kit and Crew to go explore the Weird West. Kit wants to kill Jeanne and save* Poe, simple enough, but in the course of doing that, she runs afoul of a bunch of other weird crap, as well as crosses paths with people whose goals get in the way of her own (like Umami and this Shew Stone, or zombies, or the JDA, or Dewbreen and the Dryads, or the Knights).
*Kit has convinced herself Poe needs saving, but Poe may not agree.

My theory would be that Zombie-making spider creatures are just one of The Dreadful's possibilities. I'd suggest it's probably a bit more unpredictable (and potentially dangerous) than that. Indeed, my thought is it probably temporarily opens up a portal directly to hell inside of whatever Kit shoots, which is why it's so deadly against pretty much anything, even if they're immortal, and just allows whatever nasty demon beast wants to hop in and eat the soul/body of whatever thing Kit felt the need to use her super gun on.

MSperoni

Dunno then. Maybe the "spider" motif she's adopted for herself is independent of limb-count?
Sorta how Spider-Man only has four limbs. Lanarella happens to have six.
But someone who would leave Sabueso for a scrawny pumpkin man probably doesn't have a very clear head about things. Like basic counting.
That or she just doesn't care.

My assumption has always been that, in true Liefeldian fashion, he doesn't REALLY have a backstory except wherein it allows for dramatic cut aways, flashbacks, and is otherwise narratively useful, without, necessarily, being congruent with itself.

... so now I'm curious if this ALT-Earth type world exists in a state kind of similar to Eberron, where the Divine is hidden and distant from all, even the angels (who act as a matter of faith), or is similar to Errant Story, where the Divine... isn't (in that world, consisting of three energy-based super-advanced aliens and a big conglomeration of faith-magic); or more like Card's Children of Earth (in which there was a the human-created "Oversoul", and the more mythical/spiritual - self-existing? - "Keeper of Earth"); or, more weirdly, if the Divine is, but is simply malevolent or disassociated from morality or works on an orange/blue kind of amoral-morality akin to the angel's perspective.
Or, of course, if the "Angel" is like pretty much any of the other "mythical" creatures in Dreadful (at least based on my reading between the lines) - created by men and their magic/faith.
OR, if the Angel was, in fact, a fallen angel, who still considered themselves on the path of righteousness, despite being on the path of wickedness and corruption-through-sadism.

I mean, simply taking one look at that angel's design, no one really needs to link Admiral Ackbar (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4F4qzPbcFiA)* to realize that she's designed as a "no-win" situation (especially given that it was obvious to Marshal Cole.
Also, those heels totes make it obvious that she's evil. They remind me of Him, from PPG. (Those empty, black eyes; weirdly lined face; and tentacle hair kind of generate the heebie-jeebies, however.)
Another possibility that occurred was that the "Angel" wasn't an "Angel" at all, but rather a converted entity, whether Cthulic-like, changed demon, or something else similar.
There were other possibilities, but I've forgotten them, now.
(Also, 'dat Pumpkin-house entrance. S'r'sly. Gutter. My mind. Also, Sabueso turned angry and cruel in a really weird way. I wonder if he once had the hots for Kitt, but she spurned him or something.)
* I totally did.

Liz is pretty awesome if I do say so myself! I'm working on a Liz wallpaper too. Soon you will be able to have a full color pic of your waifu adorning your computer or PS3 background! Or both!

Clearly Charsi wanted to join the slumber party, but felt ostracised when Liz wouldn't let her in. Because the room wasn't large enough for those udders.

So, odds on Kit and/or Poe being responsible for the death of Charsi's mum? I'm going with 3:1, myself.

Well, since she was shot, it probably rules out Jeanne, right?

I thought both Kit and Poe got into trouble with Jeanne because they weren't shooting enough people? But I don't remember if that was after they'd already shot people and didn't like it, or if they were then forced to shoot more people to stay in the gang.

Actually, if you're referencing that flashback scene from waaaaaaay long ago, Kit screwed up a job because she shot TOO MANY people. Then Jeanne wanted her to shoot an unarmed hostage, which Kit objected to (but did anyway).
Jeanne's issue is more about Kit disobeying.

Ah, okay. That does sound like the flashback I was thinking of. I must have misinterpreted it.

The main character gets first dibs on the body pillow, so Kit and then Liz down the road if they sell.
Also I've decided to have the Liz wallpaper be a Christmas Bonus, since I had some things come up this last week (some very serious and some not so very serious) which caused me to miss a few days of Dreadful work. There won't be a comic update this week, and I was unable to get a Christmas Special made, so hopefully a Liz wallpaper will make up for it.

Dude, I seriously hope you give us a chance to see #11 in some way shape or form on both counts, or else it will come off as waaaaay too much of a tease and make us wonder why you even would torment us by sharing that tidbit at all.

But I enjoy tormenting people.
Cut content might appear as bonus material in future things. Like if I decide to sell a book or something. Or if I ever get my own site I could have a section specifically for unused content.

Oh, yes. Torment us some more. We like it that way.
I for one liked the jewels of wisdom, both of which I had forgotten, so now I'm not entirely certain of the context. But they don't need further context. They're shiny enough all on their own.

Well I was approaching Mezzo Forte/Kite levels and I knew there would be no way in the world Brian would allow that on the site. Plus I realized that it was a little gratuitous. That's what I get for watching too much HBO!
And...about your commission...uhhh...it was so long since it was brought up I assumed it was dropped or you found someone else to do it! :P

You tease.
That aside, Charsi's sensitivity about her breasts and bringing it up out of nowhere was a great moment.

If I ever get to the point where I'm making porno comics for cash I'm gonna tap into the fan-comic market.
Seems more lucrative. Like...One Piece or Pokemon or Sesame Street or whatever the horny kids are into these days.

Would honestly love to see what One Piece characters look in your style.
Really though, you can certainly do well with original characters and stories too. Jolly Jack is proof of that.

Geez Matt, why spend $22 on a furry artbook when you could find plenty of tutorials online for free?
They're subsets called 'fossil' for dinosaurs and scaly for lizards, but they fall under the same blanket term of furries. Technically, some furries aren't even furry, just 'hairy'.
EDIT: I just thought of this, but don't you already have furry characters? There was the centaur, then the minotaur. They technically count as furries. Then again, you also have a nice mix of monster girls and (a) kemomimi.

I do have to just say with Erin's current... mental status I have no doubt that ends up pretty damn hilarious.
Liz I find puzzling cause it's hard to imagine her even having a libido but there it is.

Yeah there's Boozloaf, but the centaur got killed.
Never heard of a "kemomimi" before! Have no idea what it is.

01-04-2015, 01:16 PM
Excuse me, I got the word wrong. It's 'kemonomimi', which is 'animal ears'. Catgirls are the most obvious example. Not to be confused with furries, they're a thing of their own, since they usually only have the tail and ears. Depending on the genre, they could be considered monster girls and be a completely different race.
