Shall we get a little creepy today?
http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a469/PokemonUmbral/BuriedAlive.jpg
Buried Alive
Let's see if I can remember these without going back to do some research. Buried Alive here replaces Cubone's mother as the boss fight in Pokemon Tower located in Lavender Town in the Kanto region. He fights like a Pokemon Trainer, using four very high level Pokemon. If you can manage to somehow defeat him, the game crashes, but if you lost to him, you get to view a game over screen with him cradling your dead body as he slowly drags you down into the soil to consume you.
http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a469/PokemonUmbral/CreepyBlack.png
Creepy Black
In Pokemon Black (which is a special version of the original Pokemon games), the trainer acquires a unique Pokemon simply called "Ghost", which resembles the unidentifiable sprites of ghost Pokemon in Pokemon Tower until you gain the ability to see what they really are. Ghost has only one attack called Curse (the official Curse move didn't exist at this time) and Curse was not only able to instantly kill any and all Pokemon that attacked it, but was even able to kill the rival trainers that challenged you. Once you defeated the Elite Four, the game shoots forward to you as an old man in a strange tower, meeting and speaking with the lost souls of those whom Ghost has cursed. Then you get to fight Ghost yourself, with you having no Pokemon and no moves other than Struggle. Ghost will wait until you are nearly dead from the recoil damage and finally use Curse to put you out of your misery.
http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a469/PokemonUmbral/LostSilver.png
Lost Silver
Lost Silver involves Gold trapped inside Belsprout Tower with a Cyndaquil and the rest of his party filled with Unown. What is special about these Unown is that their arrangement in your team spells words. As the game continues, the player steadily undergoes some disturbing changes, such as losing him limbs and head while his team is arranged. There's a Pokemon battle where he fights Red's level 255 Pikachu with what appears to be half of a shiny Celebi. And the Unown are constantly getting rearranged to spell more creepy messages, like H-E-D-I-E-D and N-O-M-O-R-E.
http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a469/PokemonUmbral/StrangledRed.jpg
Strangled Red
A young trainer named Steven lived in Pallet town with his brother. He was a Charmander trainer and had named his Charmander Miki. Anyways, he goes about his journey and then one day must trade his Miki (then a Charizard) over to his brother so that they can complete their respective Pokedexes. Unfortunately, something happens during the trade, and Miki is no longer with us. Steven, lost in despair, does the unthinkable and swims (without the aid of any Pokemon) to a beach where he encounters MissingNo and wills MissingNo to join him, believing that MissingNo possesses a unique power to bring Miki back. He returns to Pokemon Tower and acquires a mysterious item that has one very unique ability...that he then uses on his own brother when he returns to Pallet Town. The ability? Well, there's a red this particular hacked game is called Strangled Red.
http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a469/PokemonUmbral/Rosa.jpg
While not a creepypasta in it's own right, do note that Rosa is on her way to Honmyr...and she's looking to make some new friends. Thou hast been warned.
Oh, and one more...

Are you quite sure that you made up that whole Jigglypuff theory on your own, Aldurin?

Creepy-Pastas sure isn't my thing. ^^;
Anyhow, quick reminder of current tasks: Post for Relm, Gem, Drac and myself.

Wait . . . is the Strangled Red Steven . . . THAT (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Steven) Steven? Is that a Steven we're going to meet?

Astral Harmony: "Post Quick Reply no longer allows me to meld an addition to a post into the current post even if both are mine."
No, you muggle. This particular Steven is an original character created by the Strangled Red creepypasta. He basically looks exactly like Red does except with longer hair, although he developed the glowing red eyes and vicious smile as his mind slipped into dementia after the loss of Miki the Charizard.

Working on various things, post included. From the boss fight onward, I'm going to be calculating a move's chance to hit based on the official Pokemon equation for determining it.
Here's a quick review just so you know...
Hit Chance = MoveAcc x (User's Acc / Target's Eva)
You divide the move user's Acc (a percentage) by the target's Eva (also a percentage), multiply it by MoveAcc which is the accuracy of the move itself, and there you have it. If P is equal to or greater than 1, the attack always lands.
The Acc and Eva of all allies and enemies will always start at 100% (1), so the division part of the equation doesn't even factor in unless you guys start buffing and debuffing Acc and Eva, so the hit chance is determined by the move's accuracy alone. You can check how much of a change there is to Acc and Eva buffs and debuffs by checking here (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Stats#Stages).
I'm doing this as part of my work in allowing Slayer weapons to be modified.
And yes, this actually helps me a little because I no longer have to do die rolls to determine the Acc and Eva statistics for the enemies, nor do I have to figure out what it is for you guys. Just make sure I'm well aware of what your buffs and debuffs are in those statistics, friends.

Hyacinth and Pierce's posts will be updated tomorrow morning. I can conclude Hyacinth's battle this turn since there's not a whole lot the enemy constructs can do if Hyacinth just decides to say "fuck it" and leave them in their little holes.
Here's some notes, though...
- I'm not certain why Probopass's SpDef rises by 50%. If you're talking about the Sand Force ability, my research into it states that it increases the Power of Probopass's Rock, Ground and Steel moves by 30%.
- Gravity does reduce the Evasion of all units on the battlefield by 2 levels, but I would've allowed that to only happen to the enemies if you Focus'd it. Just so you know.
- Based on Ice being ineffective against both Steel and Fire, the Ice Pokebrid Action doesn't affect Hotdogger. I would most likely recommend a Strategem Shift using a Water attack for at least some kind of effect in this case.
I just need to figure out how Hyacinth's Signature Technique works and then figure out what to have Melanie do. As for Pierce, all I need to do is eat a bowl of stupid and then the ideas for the battlefield should just flow with ease.

- The Sp.Def increase is an inherent bonus of Sandstorm toward Rock types in the same fashion that Rain Dance boosts the offensive of Water types.
Sand Force is an added bonus on top of that.
- Gravity being focused seems odd since it seems like a weather effect. Although having one sided weather would be amusing.
Comments on experimental data pad are up. Mostly well received with some some clarifications requested and some comments.
Also, I don't mind the occasional double-post if the system acts up or so.

Ah, this book here must be outdated. It told me that Sandstorm increased the Spd of Rock types, not the SpDef, which is why Melanie and Probopass's Spd increased in my current info of the post. Wish these jerkoffs would settle on what these moves do.
Gonna use Lucian to end the conflict early so that Hyacinth can catch up to everyone else and then find a way later this week to tow Ray into the boss fights. Time for Lucian to finally be a badass instead of just looking sort of like one.
Assload of Addendums...
Menarker gave me a lot of bad ideas and since I lub me sum bowls o' stoopeed, I decided to go ahead and consider them good enough ideas to bring them into the official Pokemon Umbral world.
There's going to be two new characters, Runner Droops and Valkyrie. Runner is going to be revealed during Pierce's Reality Shard boss fight while Valkyrie is a Honmyr street vigilante leader that will probably figure more into Ray's personal saga as he tries to unify Honmyr in this RP and the sequel.
Runner will join the party in a more permanent fashion as yet another reward for completing Haunting Hell [Optional Dungeon]. Her class, Meme Maestro, will be unique to her, allowing her to use incredible internet meme-based powers at the omnipresent risk of causing memebuses to fall from the sky onto the intended target and causing both instant death and Shutdown. So, hopefully, her abilities will be very worth the comedic risk.
Next, Dubstep Pokemon, which will be available when you complete Doktor Absol's Laboratory [Optional Dungeon]. Needless to say, there's a connection there. I will figure out the specifics of Dubstep Pokemon tomorrow but I expect their attacks to be super effective against Ice, Psychic, Rock, Steel, Heritage, Knomere, Mechanical, and Deus Exes. I'm thinking that their attacks won't be as effective against things like Bug, Grass, Water, Ghost, Ruin, Shadow and Undead enemies. Many of their attacks will have the new Burst attribute, which allows the attack to shatter Light Screen, Reflect, and other protective moves but not necessarily all of them. I'll have it all figured out later. This also might involve a new status effect called Groove where the enemy is forced to dance.
Oh, and Deus Ex is the replacement name for Neo-Mechanical enemies. I'm trying to correct my stupidity from long ago and this is one of those steps.
I'm also altering the rewards for Weapons Graveyard. First off, note that the dialogue before the fight will be quite different if you've captured Lost Silver and Strangled Red before attempting it. You'll also recruit a very famous ally. Slayer weapon modification is no longer a reward and can just be left to the Slayers, Daphne and the Engineer specialists. The Lexhur body mod thing does not change.
Finally, the Honmyrdex will change around some. One, I'll do a little more altering to include the new Dubstep Pokemon (maybe bring it up to 550 Pokemon?) and two, I'll move PC-created Pokemon into a special listing all its own since I think I forgot about Charlotte's Pokemon Revenard and that one creepy Pokemon Pierce has. I would also like to include an actual Ruin version of Aegislash like what Hyacinth plans to have...or already does? I'unno.
Anyways, I think that's finally it from me. Pierce's post will be done tomorrow and I'll have a lot more of this nonsense sorted out, like what Menarker has wisely suggested for the new Pokemon type strengths and weaknesses. Honestly, sometimes it pays to stall for posting for so long because it gives him time to think and help me come up with really dumb ideas. Thanks, buddy!

Please tell me this new type alters the Whismur evolutionary line.

*points at the Dodrio head.*
Believe it or not, I created an unevolved one-headed version of that thing. I think I named it Struthuno? I can imagine what people will say when they see it...
Pokemon Trainer: "What the fuck is that? A one-headed version of the Doduo species? What a total freak!"
Struthuno: "Struthuno." <Fuckhead.>
A Dubstep variant of Whismur sounds good, but it makes more sense to just turn Whismur into a Dubstep/Normal type. Maybe make it look more emo.
Aldurin
07-28-2014, 07:46 PM
Interesting, I was gonna originally make up a Quado . . . do . . . on the spot. A Dodrio evolution with four heads, which happens to pass the threshold of being able to cooperate without being a hive mind, rendering it useless in battle.
Also you need to save the emo for your Dubstep/Dark pokemon.
Astral Harmony
07-28-2014, 08:37 PM
Maybe Dubstep/Ghost. I always thought the Dark type was based on dishonorable tactics and low blows, like kicking dust in your opponent's eyes or hitting below the belt, hence moves like Fake Out and Fake Tears and Fake...Nose? Ghost feels more like attacking with negative emotions like depression and grudges. Except for madness. Attacking with madness is the Ruin way.
...A Dubstep evolution of Whismur...for some reason, I think the name of that Skrillex song Bangarang fits.

Menarker: "How can you be so half-assed and such a complete ass at the same time? You're a contradiction in derogatory terminology!"
There. Brilliant.
And don't be mean to my Dubstep Pokemon. They wub you. Wub wub wub. Wub wub wub.
Aldurin

Actually I'm pretty sure Dubstep pokemon are bullshit. They probably gain attack bonuses depending on which part of the soundtrack they attack on, so the smart ones will stall their turns for at least a minute waiting for the drop.

Now that the forums are back up and I had a look at everything, I'm going to go ahead and redo all the boss posts. I don't have all the text leading up to the battles (except for Pierce since I hadn't posted that one yet) but I can make that up over the week. Overall, I'd say that we didn't lose that much in the ruckus. Barely anything at all considering.

I personally want to opt/vote that we skip the current batch of bosses (hopefully Shiney will retrieve the posts we did do) and we can go ahead with the storyline. Basically that we re-start at the point where we defeated our respective bosses and that we finally find the Sentinels that we were all searching for in the shard.

So in total we've got Dracorion and Menarker wishing to skip through their boss fights and Aldurin wishing to take on his undead dire bear. This is most definitely workable on all fronts, and I admire Donovan's blatant insanity in wishing to unleash all kinds of alchemical hell on a giant zombie bear. We haven't had madness that refreshing since Charlotte was around.
Dark Charlotte: "Refreshing madness is so Successionary War One. What is my madness level at these days? Overpowering? All-consuming? Unyielding? Something like that."
I shall endeavor to have Donovan's fight rebuilt Monday afternoon and maybe have something for Renny and Pierce in their post-battle shenanigans. You other wacky PCs, I demand thine votes or thine lives!

So...y'know...just another Thursday in Pokemon Umbral.
But alright, Hyacinth moves forward!

Shiney is truely Master of the Universe.
Anyways, so Renny, Donovan and Hyacinth are all set up, I guess? That just leaves Pierce and Ray and I'll get that done over the next three days while I try to fix some things on my end.
EDIT: Just For the Future...
The Weapons Graveyard optional quest has been upgraded. You can now acquire a new character there if you have completed the Lost Silver and Strangled Red optional quest chains beforehand.

Off the Wall by Astral Harmony
Today's Topic: The Elite Five
- Astral Harmony: "While it's never expected that someone would be so damn talented that they can actually conquer all eight of Honmyr's Pokemon Gyms, anything with possible with the right amount of preparation. That's why anyone seeking even greater challenges can use rewards from the Pokemon Gyms to locate and challenge the Elite Five."
- Irene Crosswald: "And despite what you think, the Elite Five aren't people who are actually known to the players or their characters yet. In other words, while Astral Harmony had previously thought that individuals like myself and Jeanette Ricewood and Spartina would be members of this illustrious group, it was decided, quite recently in fact, to make them original characters that have nothing better to do than to be challenged by those who seek the mightiest challenges imaginable. Well, next to mightiest challenges imaginable. It is possible that at least a couple of these can take on Sexy or even Dinner, so make sure you've got all your death-related paperwork in order before stepping up to some of the finest warriors Honmyr has ever produced."
- Astral Harmony: "No hard feelings, right Irene? I mean, you've got enough on your shoulders as is. Anyways, without further ado, let's get into this'n, shall we?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How To Find the Elite Five
When you defeat a Pokemon Gym leader, a piece of strange data is wirelessly uploaded into the badge that you receive from your victory. These pieces of data are actually halves of a map, and with eight badges, that leads to four individual maps in total. When you have two complementary pieces, a map leading to an Elite Champion is then wirelessly transmitted into any Inquiry Visor or Pokedex registered to you. With the badges being registered to you, the devices being registered to you, and even the data being registered to you, it is impossible to copy or transmit this data in a way that would allow one to challenge Elite Champions without having taken on and defeated the gyms first. Not like it matters, anyways. If you can't even conquer a single Pokemon Gym in Honmyr, you have no hope against an Elite Champion.
The data fragments that you collect are random regardless of which Gym Leaders you challenge, but you will never get duplicate fragments so challenging all eight will get you your four maps in total regardless. At any rate, once you have a full map, you can then officially challenge the Elite Champion that the map will lead you to. This means that if you're fortunate enough to acquire two halves of the same map from the first two gyms you've defeated, then you can challenge an Elite Champion really early in your gym conquest adventures.
Elite Champions cannot be found directly, even with the map. When you enter their general battleground, they will use their Inquiry Visors to scan your devices and badges. If the badge you have is truely registered to you and you are the registered owner of the device that you possess and the two related map data pieces are in that device, then the Elite Champion will finally reveal himself/herself to you. This is a clear indication that you are allowed to face this Elite Champion.
But I'm sure you do recall that the title of this Off the Wall topic says Elite Five instead, right? That's because defeating an Elite Champion will reward you with another data fragment. In this case, it's a quarter of another map and you will need all to find the fifth Elite Champion. This means that you can't face Honmyr's greatest Elite Champion unless you've conquered all eight Pokemon Gyms and the first four of the Elite Five.
The Archangel Tier Elite Champions
Like how angels would protect or do the bidding of gods, the four Elite Champions that must be defeated to begin searching for the fifth one compose the Archangel Tier.
L'Zarc the Almighty Tempest
- Location: Revealed to be the Summit of Freya Mountain once you collect the two "Perpetual Storm" map pieces.
- Type: Dragon / Flying
- Classes: Overblade / Deva / Breeder
- Specialties: Shock Trooper / Destroyer
- Pokeforms: Ho-Oh / Rayquaza / Shaymin (Sky Forme)
- Arsenal: Mega Gyarados [Leader] / Mega Aerodactyl [Leader] / Pidgeot / Talonflame / Salamence / Togekiss
- Infinity Drive: Azure Maelstrom
- Backstory: L'Zarc is an extremely handsome white-haired man who seeks absolute perfection within himself and has sacrificed everything else for it. He does this through ceaseless training everyday at his home, the summit of Freya Mountain, in which those who reach this summit will find a sealed shrine that will only open and reveal L'Zarc's presence to those who have the map pieces. He wields a mighty Assault Saber that he forged himself and has been retweaking ever since, making it a superbly-balanced blade that could easily sell for millions of dollars among collectors.
Freya Mountain is renowned for powerful storms, and the blizzard that rages on this mountain deals damage to L'Zarc's enemies and even has a small chance of ejecting them in each round of combat. Through training in these extreme conditions, L'Zarc and his Pokemon are at the prime of their physical being, and will not falter even against the most hardcore opponents. The reason L'Zard has offered to be an Elite Champion is that only through fighting the strongest warriors Honmyr can produce does he feel that his own potential will continue to ascend.
Azazea the Black Reaper
- Location: Revealed to be the dead center of the Root Cage Marsh once you collect the two "Laughing Skull" map pieces.
- Type: Undead / Ghost
- Classes: Overblade / Dragoon* / 5 Star*
- Specialties: Shock Trooper / Medic
- Infinity Drive: Unsung Wrath
- Backstory: Originally a war historian, Azazea came to realize that she had an incredible sixth sense. She could hear the anguished voices of the slain and see them. A lot of people believe that she too is dead and has haunted the Root Cage Tree in the Root Cage Marsh, a large, tall tree with roots that begin thirty feet above ground that spread out and bend downward until they finally enter the murky waters. However, Azazea is very much alive and perfectly sane. She has taken to living in the marshes and has become so deeply connected to the spiritual world that she can use her own body's vitae to awaken the dead, which she uses as both soldiers and mounts. This is dangerous since this means she expends her own life force to reanimate necromantic beings, but so far Azazea is still well and fit, although you wouldn't think to believe that given how petite her body is.
If you have the map pieces and venture underneath the exposed roots of the Root Marsh Tree, a dark fog builds up rapidly from all around and Azazea presents herself as though rising from the surrounding muck itself. Be mindful of the weight of your Pokemon as heavier Pokemon will suffer some combat penalties from sinking into the soft, drenched soil.
Helenuxe the Brine Witch
- Location: Revealed to be a small stretch of beach in the far northwestern area of White Wastelands when you collect the two "Frozen Embrace" map pieces.
- Type: Ice / Water
- Classes: Deva / Grandmaster* / Breeder
- Specialties: Shock Trooper / Sniper
- Pokeforms: Articuno / Suicune / Kyurem (White Kyurem)
- Arsenal: Mega Blastoise [Leader] / Mega Abomasnow [Leader] / Walrein / Mamoswine / Froslass / Seismitoad
- Infinity Drive: White Apocalypse
- Backstory: Helenuxe was a opera singer that wasn't doing so well in her career, and she believed this to be due to her not knowing how to express her feelings very well. So she put her career on permanent hold and ventured out into Honmyr, never to be seen in real public again. She is a heartbreakingly beautiful woman who wears little more than a thin, semi-translucent white dress. Her hair is a very pale blonde and despite her lack of clothing and near-constant wetness due to seawater exposure, she doesn't seem the slightest bit bothered by the biting winds that must be digging all the way into her bones.
When you show up, and you have the map pieces, you will hear Helenuxe's beautiful voice being carried on the winds, beckoning you closer to the edge of the freezing ocean. Helenuxe is typically perched on a rock that juts out of the tides, and will seem to literally walk on water as she steps forward to meet your challenge.
Kirkland the Engulfing Dementia
- Location: Revealed to be in the Devouring Catacombs psyche ward when you collect the two "Bleeding Eye" map pieces.
- Type: Electric / Psychic
- Classes: Overblade / Grandmaster / Breeder
- Specialties: Shock Trooper / Engineer
- Arsenal: Mega Alakazam [Leader] / Mega Ampharos [Leader] / Metagross / Luxray / Reuniclus / Eelektross
- Infinity Drive: Ego Purge
- Backstory: Nothing is known about Kirkland or can be known, but the few rumors that exist suggest immoral scientific experimentation as the most likely result of his 'condition'. His face and body are covered by an odd combination of thick wrappings and various metal objects like body armor, barbed wire and nails. His presense is able to cause all kinds of frightening phenomena, like distorted ghostly images and other illusions that screw with your senses. These phenomena grow stronger and more realistic the closer you get to Kirkland until he suddenly appears before you himself.
Kirkland is able to use his incredible psychic powers to literally turn any situation into his favor. Keeping a stable mind during the fight will help you see that some of his tricks are illusions, preventing you from falling prey to his tricks.
The God Tier Elite Champion
Ir the Traveler
- Location: Revealed to be in the Offlands when you collect all four "Apex" map pieces. Just enter when you have all the data and Ir will randomly appear before you.
- Type: N/A
- Classes: Overblade / Deva / Grandmaster / Breeder / 5 Star / Deathdealer*
- Specialties: Shock Trooper
- Pokeforms: Astral Harmony [Strength] / Astral Harmony [Wisdom] / Astral Harmony [Secrecy]
- Arsenal: Mega Mandragor [Leader] / Mega Charnibolg [Leader] / Mega Abysslayer [Leader] / Mega Chimaeridyne / Mega Sacregasus / Mega Dullihon
- Infinity Drive: Cosmic Ruination
- Backstory: Ir is not a registered citizen of Honmyr. There is no data of her on any database in the entire Pokemon World. Given the fact that she is only encountered in the Offlands, it is believed that she is some kind of interdimensional traveler, hence the unofficial title she has been given by those who have challenged her thus far. Ir seems to have no limit when it comes to combat talent, and she is believed to be as beautiful as she is powerful, but she hides nearly her entire body in a skintight armor that is both medievil and futuristic. Only her fiery red hair is exposed.
Because the challenge takes place in the Offlands, you can expect the battlefield and the weather to change on the fly. However, it doesn't seem to effect Ir nearly as badly as it usually should.
* Dragoon ~ The upgraded title of a Pokemon Rider.
* 5 Star ~ The upgraded title of a Troop Master.
* Grandmaster ~ The upgraded title of a Pokemonk.
* Deathdealer ~ The upgraded title of a Deckmaster.

Heh, a transcontinental search for each individual Elite 5, instead of them all being in the same area. That's so unneedlessly complicated. Sounds fun.
Ir is such a rule-breaker though. Having a whole team of Megas where normally a player can only have one Mega. ^^; (At least in the actual games).
Then again, she also has so many class levels, it's equally absurd.

Also, I thought legendary pokebrid forms were not only incredibly dangerous but illegal and practically unheard of. How did all of these Elite 5s get legendary forms and that detail not become semi-common knowledge without the scientific community gaining the know-how on how to graft legendary forms?

Because shut up, that's why. Or Garus will make a Renny X Pierce yaoi doujin.
...Y'know, as opposed as to all the fanfics that I'm sure random immature writers and artists have already created.
But to be honest, I think it has something to do with one's destined potential. High level Pokebrids/Devas in PATCA will usually have a legendary form.

I'll get a response done this weekend, I've been distracted with some stressful stuff recently so I haven't been able to elaborate on how Donovan will get himself killed in this fight.

...how Donovan will get himself killed in this fight.
This goddess smells a running gag where Donovan does potentially suicidal things and all of them somehow turn out for the better.
Thinking on it, maybe I should create an Off the Wall based on Pokemon Umbral's extensive list of running gags.
Anyways, the Renny post is gonna get done early this morning before I head off to work. I've been playing Natural Doctrine a lot. My initial thought was that it may as well call itself Dark Souls Tactics because of how insanely difficult it is, but after a while and some experimentation with tactics, I'm starting to skullfuck this game. Then again, that's probably how Dracorion plays Dark Souls.
EDIT #1 (Oct 17): Okay, so Menarker's post has caused me to rethink and redo a lot of things to refine the system. Let's see if I can make sense of this mess.
The Breaker Formula
- When: Applied when using attacks like Super Fang, Endeavor, Pain Split, and instant death type attacks against a Boss or Elite Boss target unless their HP falls below MaxHP x.125.
- Reason: Bosses and Elite Bosses have redonkulous amounts of HP. The moves listed just above, if applied to the target normallty, would be overpowered. Using the Breaker Formula will still give them some damaging potential against the target so that the effect isn't wasted since targets like that would normally be immune to the effects.
- How It Works: Hooooooh boy, here we go...
1.) S = 100 - (D - O)
2.) Roll an e-die with S being the number of sides. The result then becomes R for the next equation.
3.) B = (M x .125) x (R / 100)
Did I totally blow your mind? Let's take this step-by-step, if that's possible...
a.) First you'll need to figure out S by subtracting O from D and then subtracting that from 100. O is the total offense of the user (Atk + SpAtk) and D is the total defense of the target (Def + SpDef). S is considered the limit of how much damage this move can possibly do given the statistics of the user and the target, and the highest number S can be is 100, even if O is larger than D.
b.) M is the current maximum HP of the target. You multiply that by .125. Then take R and divide that by 100. And finally you can multiply both numbers together to get the total damage.
Umm...let's do an example, shall we? Like the one that was done in Renny's post.
1.) S = 100 - (D - 0)
Milsha's Atk is 17 and her SpAtk is 15. O is those two numbers added together so O = 32.
Cynthia's Def (before the Bleed debuff that happened during the Upkeep Phase) was 22 and her SpDef was also 22. D is those two numbers added together so D = 44.
44 - 32 = 12.
100 - 12 = 88.
S is 88.
2.) Roll an e-die with S being the number of sides. The result then becomes R for the next equation.[I]
Using any number of programs for random number generation or dice, I roll a die with 88 sides. In this case, I got a 41.
R is 41.
[I]3.) B = (M x .125) x (R / 100)
M is the maximum HP than Cynthia possesses, so M = 11000. We can now figure out just how damage the successful Death effect of Milsha's Signature Technique has done.
11000 x .125 = 1375.
41 / 100 = .41
1375 x .41 = 563.75 or 564 since I like to round up.
Therefore, Milsha's Death effect dealt 564 damage in this example calculation.
This means that you can alter your damage output by increasing the user's offensive statistics or decreasing the defensive statistics of the target, which adds more sides to the e-die that gets rolled. This potential maxes out when the attacker's total offense is greater than the defender's total defense.
The Affliction Formula
- When: Applied whenever a damaging affliction is applied to a target.
- Reason: As a way of scaling down status damage against HP-heavy targets but allowing them to still be quite effective. Status afflictions that deal damage, like Poison, Burn, or Frostbite, will now have owners. The damage inflicted by a status effect will be determined by the one who dealt it. As long as there are different owners involved, a damaging affliction can be placed on a target three times. If another owner attempts to apply the same affect, the affliction that is dealing the least amount of damage to the target will be dropped.
- How It Works: Take a look at this formula...
S = [(M / X) x .125] + O
M is the maximum HP of the afflicted target.
X is the HP multiplier that is used to give the target their maximum HP.
O is the total offense of the user (Atk + SpAtk). Unlike the Breaker Formula, the target's total defense does not come into play.
Let's bring in Milsha and Cynthia once more to show us how it's done.
M is 11000 (Cynthia's maximum HP).
X is 100 (Cynthia's base HP is 110 so 110 x 100 = 11000).
O is 44 (Milsha's Atk and SpAtk added together).
11000 / 100 = 110 x .125 = 13.75 + 44 = 57.75 or 58.
So any damaging status affliction dealt onto Cynthia by Milsha will deal 58 damage unless Milsha ups one or both of her offensive statistics.
Autoreactions
Autoreactions are logical thought processes carried out by your allies and enemies when something doesn't work to prevent more AP or RP being wasted on the effort.
There are two in the latest RP post I've done.
Since Bianca was successful in finding Steel-type armor for Renny on her first Item Search attempt, she initiates an Autoreaction and conserves 4 AP that would have been wasted searching for Steel-type armor that she has already found.
Cynthia realizes that her first attack on Milsha was unsuccessful because of the invincibility effect gained by Renny's Serene Grace, and so she initiates an Autoreaction and conserves AP to begin attacking next turn.
Autoreactions performed by allied characters can be contested by PCs if they feel that I didn't understand the point of the action.
Notes
As one might expect, I will at some point create Slayer accessories and Pokemon Hold Items that add multipliers to Breaker moves and afflictions so that even those with low offensive statistics can still be major players.

The Toxic is more to see if it does anything to the chemicals than to the bear, but if anything it allows Donovan to put to use the new Affliction rules that seem to favor him so dearly.
Mix them all and drink them would be a fun approach, but it doesn't make sense for Donovan who has gone through enough experimentation to prefer studying them at someone else's expense.
Also it's unfortunate that Kiyomi is all physical moves, since if she does have to throw in to wipe out the chemicals table that means she's probably gonna be affected by some of it.

I'll see what I can do for your two posts, Menarker and Aldurin. Hopefully I can do something this weekend, but my laptop just fuggin' died. I just bought the one that I'm using right now. Seriously, this ain't no joke.
Hopefully, I can somehow yank out my old laptop's hard drive and get the files over here. They're are pretty damn necessary for all the things I need to do in both RPs.
Menarker
10-24-2014, 01:12 AM
That sucks. I hope you have luck retrieving the files.
When my laptop died, I was able to save a bit of money (and presumably some privacy) by having them put the laptop drive in an external drive casing and providing a cable to connect it with a different laptop/computer for me to connect on my own time. This process is more likely to succeed if your laptop "died" due to a logical error instead of a mechanical one. But I can't imagine it'd hurt to try.
When you do get the chance, go ahead and work on Aldurin's first (and Drac's long overdue battle result for the other RP. Maybe see if he wants to end it early so he can catch up). I'll be busy with some other real life stuff on the side over the next week.

Set up a Google Drive account, there's a way to create a folder on each of your devices that automatically synchronizes with your Drive database, which is useful for keeping your files available across multiple devices (I keep my D&D pdfs easily accessible this way, since I have it set up on my desktop, laptop and phone).
It won't help with this problem since your laptop is already dead, but for any future inconvenience you won't lose your files that easily.

I should be coming back from this fallout starting in two days. Then I can do both posts or more this weekend after I catch everything up.
New computer's not bad now that I'm getting used to it AKA deleted all the crap I didn't need on this. ...Actually, should I have kept Skype? Imagine us doing a Pokemon Umbral teleconference or something...

Thank you, m'lord. Recieved my hard drive adaptor in the mail and I'm transferring my files over.
I'm having a lot of fun tweaking my ideas of Oozyme, Enzlimer and it's second evolution, Gungestor. The reason why is that its eating ability is going to expand to allow them to devour the following:
* Slayer Weapons
- A replacement weapon can be requested, but it won't be tweaked to the Slayer's specifications.
- The Pokemon might be able to use the devoured weapon itself.
* Slayer Armor
- A replacement armor can be requested, but it won't be as strong as the Slayer's current rank
- The Pokemon type-defenses will receive that new type.
* Items
- The Pokemon will automatically gain the benefits of the item it has devoured, which can swing to your advantage if the item has a detrimental effect.
* Hold Items
- The Pokemon can keep and swap out the devoured Hold Item for anything it currently has.
* Ninja Ofuda
- The Pokemon gains the effects of the item which, like items, could proove advantageous if the effect was negative.
* Pokeballs
- If the Pokeball is empty, the deployed Pokemon cannot be recalled until defeated.
- If the Pokeball was occupied, the Pokemon cannot be deployed.
* Destiny Deck
- The Pokemon will be able to devour cards in your current hand, in your graveyard, or Trap cards that have been deployed but not activated.
* Constructs
- Aside from Evoliths, the Pokemon is able to devour other constructs created by the Engineers and gain various effects based on what was consumed.

Anyways, I think I finally have everything I want to have on this new laptop transferred over. Assuming there's no sudden work requests this weekend (I could always refuse those but I'd be a fool to turn down overtime hours of any number), I should make those two RP posts and handle a few other things on the side.
Edit [Nov 6 2014]: Lateness of the posts due to long work hours and the additional chores that come with breaking in a computer. Instead of telling me about the processing specs on the box, I would have preferred that the box mention that Microsoft Works doesn't come with Windows 8 and I'd like to strangle everyone who thought that made any sense not to include it just because it's been discontinued. Of course people are still going to use .wps files!
Also, I will admit that I got distracted playing Sword Art Online -Hollow Fragment- (Silica is kawaii incarnate) and Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus. Senran Kagura may be about hot anime chicks fighting and destroying each others' clothes, but I'm more interested in how Japan keeps stretching and stretching the defining scope of 'ninja'. I though ninjas were supposed to be silent and stealthy covert infiltration and assassination specialists who meld with the shadows, not flashly over-the-top out-and-out brawl...ergh, whatever. Maybe I'm just overthinking things again. Besides, I don't think I have room to talk when I've got the pink-wearing Pizza who brandishes an electrically powered industrial pizza cutter and the assault rifle and carbon steel machete-toting Tomoe.

About the only upgrade I can think of for Bad Poison would be Ninja Poison, but the upgraded effects of Ninja Poison (can only cure itself after the target dies and causes Deathlock for Tx1D4 upon death) don't really apply since Rodger won't be revived upon death anyways.
Don't forget that other units can apply the same status effects to the same target. Notice on Rodger's place in the order phase that "Don" appears before the status effects. If Calisto can apply Bad Poison to the target, then Rodger can suffer the effects of two bad poisons each Upkeep. The max for all afflictions is 3 each, so go nutburgers on that bear.
...Donovan and the undead bear. He wouldn't be able to keep Rodger in the building because of the stench and unsanitary conditions and I imagine that before battle, he'd have to drive out and fetch him either from the nearest beehive or human victim whose brain he's chowing on.
EDIT: Just some notes about Donovan's post before I head off to work (sorry, no Renny post, ergh)...
The intensity, or level, of Bad Poison's effects will max out at Lv 6, in which case it will be doing six times the damage of a Lv 1. The damage can only then be further increased by buffing Donovan's Atk and/or SpAtk statistics since the Affliction Formula still applies on every turn.
Evoliths only require 4 AP to attack (otherwise, I don't think Kiyomi would've had enough AP to have her Evolith and herself attack on the same turn). I will also see if I can spend some time coming up with actual statistics for each Evolith (probably similar to what I'll figure out for the Megevo Pokemon).
When the Spectral Evolith attacked the table, I applied a 30% shatter chance to each potion, and a 50% chance when Kiyomi attacked it. With the table destroyed and all that shit now on the floor near the table, only an AoE attack or some other Strategem Shift would allow one to attack multiple bottles.

Something I just noticed now and should point out, Donovan's synchtechs don't have rage costs listed on them, since I think they were balanced back when there was a baseline rage cost for those moves (I think 50 or 60 rage, 10-12 equivalent in the current system). Looking at the current guide it lists that synchtechs have variable rage cost.
Do you remember what those were supposed to be, or if we should look over the techs again to see if they need to be assigned individual costs?
Menarker
11-12-2014, 01:09 AM
Helped Aldurin find out the Sync-Tech stuff.
In the past, it was free for the first use and then 50 rage (converted to 10 rage now) to use each time. (This was probably during the period when P-Shift costed more rage immediately.)
And later on/currently, it was pretty much 10 rage for a synctech, with P-Shifting requiring you had 12 rage in storage but drained your rage by 4 when activated and for each upkeep afterwards that the transformation was maintained.

Ok, edit made. The NPC bios on the pad are actually pretty unclear about things like Kiyomi's Overdrive ability, which don't have a listed cost and are categorized next to passive effects and evolith descriptions. Yes, m'lord. I'll correct it tomorrow when I have time to work on things.
Edit [Nov 22 2014]: Fuggin' quick reply still doesn't like me. Going through a few things right now (getting a new car, a new promotion at work, Dragon Age: Inquisition and Far Cry 4) and it's costing me a couple days.
I don't think that I work tomorrow so I'm going to focus on getting Donovan's Umbral post and setting up Pierce's Lustral post for the next chapter. Then over the week, I'll handle Renny's Umbral post early and setup the enemies for Renny and Pierce's Lustral Chapter 4 campaigns. Wish me... well, not luck, really. Wish me some extra time in the day. Like, four hours or something. I hate sleep so much!
I also intend to gather together all my status effects and attack attributes, old and new, and create a list of each one with their effects and associated type tomorrow. The only new one I can think of right now is called Stagger. It's a Fighting-type status effect that lasts until the Upkeep of the same turn and basically adds minor multipliers to additional attacks that effect that target (x1.1, x1.2, or x1.3 per number of times inflicted on that turn). Fighting-type humanoids like Kurika and Catherine will be the pioneers of the status effect and we'll see how it goes from there.
Also, probably going to create a Dark/Ghost legendary type that is basically the Grim Reaper Pokemon. And then maybe, maybe I can finally say that I've created all the Pokemon I've wanted to create. By now it's gotta be up close to 600 of the sodden things and I have to save a lot of creature ideas for the Deckmaster's Beast Cards.

Slayer weapon and armor modifications and you can always pitch ideas to me about adding these statuses to certain Pokemon and Pokebrid moves or actions. The rules are fluid, my friends. I have no problem modifying the system to make them more fun for the players.
But honestly, I would like to use the Pokebrid rank tiers to grant more powerful Pokebrid actions, both inward and outward, to those who invest into becoming Devas.

I could see upgraded brid actions lead to effects like the self ones granting the benefits of a relevant ability for that turn on top of its normal effect (say self Fire grants Flame Body for that turn, or external Fire is Ember with Will-o-Wisp's burn rate), and external ones imitating more powerful support moves (or simply lower-power damage attacks).

Afflictions
* HarmoNote #1: If an action that is cancelled by a No Act effect costs AP, that AP is not refunded. If it costs RP, RP is refunded.
* HarmoNote #2: Any use of a Stratagem to cure an affliction requires 4 AP per use, regardless of it requiring that an attack be used.
* HarmoNote #3: In the Time afflictions, Prime attacks are considered attacks used directly by Slayers, Pokebrids, Riders, Rangers, Monks, and a Deckmaster's Assault Cards. Secondary attacks are those used by the Trainer & Snagger's Pokemon, the Deckmaster's Fiend Cards, and the Troop Master's subordinates.

Might've forgotten one or two, but I'm sleepy so leave me alone. Dracorion, I'll get to your Lustral stuff tomorrow morning.

Assault Cards
Fiend Cards
Ooh, tell me more. I am suddenly more interested in Deckmaster now that it sounds like it's Hearthstone for real men. I like the new slew of statuses (given Donovan's theming, he may need to have something that interacts with the Madness status in one of his future levels).
Also I think I finally found a visual reference for how fights between the more powerful characters look in Umbral.

Now that I think of it, Madness would probably be more associated with the Ruin type.
Anyways, all I really did was change the names around a bit. Spell Card became Assault Card (because the cards don't always involve magic, just direct attack), Beast Card became Fiend Card (no change in the cards themselves, just the name), and Trap Card became...well, Trap Card sounds fine.
In case you're interested, Fiends will borrow a lot from mythical creatures and some original ones. So expect stuff like armed goblins, hydras, gryphons, minotaurs, skeletons, centaurs, mermaids, fairies, giant spiders, blood mantises and so on with creatures I originally came up with to flesh it all out. But that's just the Flesh deck.
EDIT [Nov 24]: Dracorion, the Lustral stuff has been updated quite a bit so you can decide which route to take based on which enemies you wanna capture. I don't think the update is complete as I still need to add some context, but it's more than enough to talk things over with Menarker.

Lustral side of things are ready to proceed for Drac and I, once you're done with updated stats.

Relax, Menarker. I know about all the things I have to do at all times unless I am distracted by boobies.
...I will also take this moment to admit that I am very often distracted by boobies.
EDIT: Menarker, I should have your RP post up tomorrow morning and I think I will have some Lustral stuff done. I just haven't been feeling well. The douchebags I live with are sick 24/7. I think it's the fact that they go out way too often for loose women.

Oof, Donovan's character bio is rough. I'm going to have to take a weekend to reformat it and actually include information. Is Flame Aura's attack type physical or special? Who knows because I was too dumb to ever say so (listed it as special in the recent post since that makes more sense and it's the lower stat).
Also those planned upgrades are going into the garbage bin (maybe the Orb stays, maybe). The new changes to Rayquaza bumps that into the primary candidate spot for Donovan's legendary form (goodbye to Deoxys' bullshit evolution that I worry might actually be kept on the Homnyrdex), and the changes to slayer weapons means I need to rethink the whole thing with the pistols. Oh and statting out the what-the-fucks that give us the demon levels since I'm pretty sure that with four half-demon levels Donovan eventually gets two.
I also need to redo the ruin form since that was basically pseudo-Rayquaza. Maybe Ruin/Dubstep, just so Donovan has something that emphasizes special attack. Ruin/Fairy for the sake of irony . . . the Rezonscape's the limit!
AH: Still not sure whether we're staying on eduperd or pirateperd for all of the umbral data, so that would help me be sure of where to keep all of the in-progress stuff and proposals for Donovan's cleaned-up bio.

Taking a while guess, I'd say the Flame Aura would be Special-type. Most fire attacks are unless you use them in a more physical form like Fire Fang or Fire Punch.
I'll still be using Piratepads for all my stuff. Having this new laptop allows me to see the content on Edupads but I can't interact with it in any way. I can't modify or select the data to copy it somewhere else or anything. If I wanted to extract data from them to a notepad, I'd have to type it in word-for-word.
Not sure if Renny's battle ending will also mean that Donovan's battle will also end. It just made sense for Renny's battle to end. No matter how powerful Cynthia is, she's still just a human. A human that took an air-fuel explosion full on in the face. And has lost a lot of blood. And an arm. And has been struck by flames a lot. Even though statistics would declare that she survived all of it, I can't see her as having done so and remaining conscious.

Heh, if it was DnD rules, there'd probably be a roll for taking massive damage all at once (like taking 50% of your max hitpoints in one attack) to see if you remain conscious/alive. *Shrug* Not that it applies here, but I could see the logic in it.
Anyhow, I'll let the other players who aren't doing their battles possibly roleplay their arrival in the same general area as Renny to help move things along.
EDIT: Also, for reals, I'll be away for a bit due to internet being offline when I move tomorrow.

I'd prefer if Donovan's battle didn't end just to stay in sync with the other players. I can pick up the slack if the progression gets asynchronous.

Oh, something to point out for the pokemon users that aren't playing Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire. There's extensive tweaking of quite a few movesets between the X/Y and OR/AS, which mostly seems to be changing the levels that some moves are gained but there are quite a few added moves. For example, Gallade now has Wide Guard and Quick Guard on its moveset which is relevant and useful for Renny, and it'll be worth checking if the other pokemon in your party/forms have new moves available. Bulbapedia made this easy with separate columns for X/Y and OR/AS for level listings.

I should plan on getting the guide someday. It's quicker than going through webpages on Bulbapedia.
Lustral stuff should be set up all the way to the fights tomorrow for both participants. Donovan's Umbral post will be handled on Sundeh.

So exhausted. I thought the purpose of a weekend was to relax and let off all the pressure that built up over the week? Feh.
Came up with an idea while working on Lustral stuff called the MewGen. These will be powerful single-type Pokemon (if you can find that general list of Pokemon, you'll note that there are very, very few single types) that cannot undergo mega evolution. You can request a quick optional dungeon where you fight a specified MewGen and capture it once you've collected Astral Harmony. Note that some types of MewGen will not exist like Heritage, Ruin, Time, Shadow and Dubstep.
As for the Pokemon Lustral stuff, I will at last have Renny and Pierce's parties all set up tomorrow morning. I might have more done, like a tutorial on the new mechanics, but no promises. Donovan's Pokemon Umbral post will be completed over the next three days depending on my mood. And when I say "mood", I mean "I can work on Umbral stuff or I can work on Lustral stuff". There's a lot more Umbral stuff to do besides Donovan's post since it wasn't just Renny and Donovan fighting. A glance at Donny's post makes it look relatively quick to do.

So, the Eevee clown car but with Mew-equivalents? I like the idea. Also I need a reminder on dare/nani Astral Harmony is, since I get the feeling that it's important. Yes I know it's Astral type.

I'm... well... she's a Pokemon that exists to hopefully connect everything to everything else, like the mysteries of how Mew became the common ancestor of all Pokemon (except Legendaries, I guess) and how it can know all TMs and HMs and a bunch of possible other things that I can't think of right now... like maybe your Jigglypuff Theory which... oh my god, it's still in my inbox. I should totally save that at some point. Maybe Gem Inex and Al Durin can make it work.
Pokemon Umbral: Jigglypuff uses its marker to rape people's faces? Well, we'll try to work that into the story.
Anyways, the MewGen Pokemon are designed to be a sort of a middle-ground between Mew and the many, many Pokemon that exist today. So, very ancient Pokemon whose fossils are too badly damaged (not to mention too gigantic) to be revived by modern science but Astral Harmony can revive the Pokemon from them.
The oddity of Astral Harmony is that it's not just one Pokemon but three. Each of the three Pokemon must be wielded by different trainers and when the trainers have her deployed on the same battlefield, there's the ability to fuse them into more powerful forms (A & B, B & C, C & A or A, B & C). So, basically a Pokezord.

After Donovan's battle is done, you might wanna also discretly move the other players (Pierce, Hyacinth, Impact) to the next section to, along with any NPCs they are supposed to be with.
And yes, got my internet back in case no one knew.

Still a better love story than Charlotte X Discord Twilight.
It would kind of work out as a motivation, though. Captain Wooper and his insane quest to hunt the Buttpedo that bit off half of his tail. The part that was connected to his ass. He keeps the part he was able to save in a jar filled with alcohol. Not even disinfectant perserving alcohol, just cheap bourbon.
Anyways, doing Pierce's stuff tonight and maybe I'll have all of Donovan's RP post done tonight.

Will Buttpedo be different from Sharpredator, or is Sharpredator's nebulous backside actually being a butt now canon?
Or is Buttpedo a spinoff when Sharpedo is exposed to the Butt Stone?

Due to internet connectivity-based bullshit and ye olde complaints about how it takes forever to type things into Piratepads, I remembered that I wanted to start my own forums.
And then I did so.
But also due to aforementioned internet connectivity-based bullshit, setting everything up is going incredibly slowly. Once I've figured out everything I wanted to set up there, I'll PM everyone with the address and whatnot. Donovan's RP post and Renny and Pierce's progress in Lustral will all be pulled over there.
Also, a Butt Stone? No no no, good sir, a Stone Butt. From the submerged statue of a woman. The Sharpedo was trying to catch a Luvdisc or whatever and the Luvdisc dodged out of the way just in time for the Sharpedo to smash its face into the sculpted ass of that statue, and now it is cursed to consume one-thousand human and/or Pokemon asses in order to become a regular Sharpedo again.
*Jots down Buttpedo information into a notepad.* I hath recorded it, and thus it is canon.

I was going to bring up the discussion of moving Umbral onto its own dedicated site, but it looks like you're ahead of me on that. If you need help with getting things in order let me know, since I kinda/maybe/possibly know HTML or at least can be an extra partial brain to help get things together.
