Since the name changed this will remove confusion also I'm going to have a vote for our next major story arc.
Dante

Can't you combine the plots? Hmm... On the way back to the Kaiu Wall we save a village from villains, then when we hit the wall and are ushered to Kyuden Hida, the ninjas attack and we have to track them down, then after that we have to discusss what to do with the dead guy's stuff, with a huge samurai battle as disgruntled would-be inheritors attack the group, and at the end of it all Satsume and Yukino ctach up with whoever it is they're suppsoed to duel to the death...

That get's a little to saturated. I prefer to not get my stories to complicated.
Dante

Of course... You can organize it into two main arcs, the "kill monsters arc" or "political intrigue" arc... and some of the unrelated plot points can be applied for extra juiciness of story.

Don't worry. I can make any of these stories work.
So do we stop for the night or keep chasing them?
Dante
06-09-2004, 03:09 PM
I'm with stop. If we chase them, we might run into a trap. God knows they've had enough time to summon more oni. Best to rest and come up with a plan.
Squishy Cheeks
06-09-2004, 03:13 PM
Then suggest it in character.
Krylo
06-09-2004, 05:52 PM
...I like traps. Traps are fun.
Also, I just got home and haven't read the actual RP yet.
Squishy Cheeks
06-10-2004, 05:44 PM
Alright. I'm going to be sending you private messages over the course of the rp. These private messages are details of information that I think you and only you should notice. If you want to share the detail with others it's up to you.
So do we stand our ground and protect the Cranes, or go after the Maho Tsukais and protect the empire?
The choice is up to you.
Forever Zero

On the one hand, it's dishonerable to just abandon allies to the whim of a hideous monster.
On the other, our duty is to the Empire, and it should come first.
I would probably vote to try and stop this monster now as a team, since we are here, and we can't just abandon the people to their fates at it's desire...
IHateMakingNames
06-10-2004, 07:43 PM
I would assume the empire has all sorts of royal guards and kick ass warriors, so I'd go for the Cranes now.
Squishy Cheeks
06-10-2004, 07:45 PM
I'm confused does that mean kill the oni or go after the cultists?
Forever Zero
06-10-2004, 07:47 PM
Go for the Cranes now and save them from the Oni.
Squishy Cheeks
06-10-2004, 07:55 PM
So we have two votes for stopping the oni. And I know Batgirl want's to go after the cultists so that's one vote for that.
Make that two for running.
Krylo
06-12-2004, 08:22 PM
So... just to clarify... Taken is losing the arm?
Edit: Also, my vote is for killing the cultists. They get away and we're going to have worse than that oni to deal with.
Squishy Cheeks
06-12-2004, 09:16 PM
no just your skin on that arm
Krylo
06-12-2004, 09:20 PM
Ow... that would really really hurt.

I've got enough raises for an instant fireball right?
Squishy Cheeks
06-16-2004, 08:15 PM
Yes You do. 27 points of damage, and the zombie is on fire, and decapitated. your fireball should knock it's head off, which btw is the only way to instant kill them. Other wise they take 60 points to kill.
IHateMakingNames
06-16-2004, 08:30 PM
Is making the horse trample over a zombie a legal move?
Squishy Cheeks
06-16-2004, 08:57 PM
Yes, but it's difficult. Only war horses are trained to trample, these are not war horses, so the Horse might just throw you if you try to get it to run someone over.

What's going on with the people fighting the zombies? When Raiden came in, it just seemed to stop and switch over to the people who skipped the zombie town.
Raiden
06-17-2004, 12:47 PM
Either the bandits, or the samurai battle. I've been off of this forum for so long, some good old blood-shed will do me good.
And IHMN-it seemed that the zombies were gone. I dunno. They were standing around, and no one was killing anything.
Squishy Cheeks
06-17-2004, 12:47 PM
It's your turn, what do you want to do?
IHateMakingNames

Can a spell be cast with only one arm?
I should have made Yoshi go get his weapon before leaving...
Squishy Cheeks
06-20-2004, 06:44 PM
Yes you can. You just need to be able to read the scroll. If you have the spell innate. It can be cast sans scroll.
IHateMakingNames
06-20-2004, 07:05 PM
Well, do some rolls for raised to instant fireball, so I know how much damage he does and if he gets the zombie off of his arm.

Usually you PM me when it's my turn. I've gotten used to that.
Also, I forgot that there are rolls and such, even for spells that don't do damage (Like the one I just cast). I'm just going to hope that the spell doesn't fail.

Is there any limit to how many spells can be used?
Squishy Cheeks
06-23-2004, 09:05 AM
Yes after the first two I do a stamina check. If you fail you begin to incur penalties. You already have a -1 penalty. Next spell will be at -2.
IHateMakingNames
06-23-2004, 05:10 PM
Well, it's good that I now know of this... How bad are these penalties?
Squishy Cheeks
06-24-2004, 01:15 PM
a negative means you lose a die rolled to see if you succeed. it does not affect the number of dice you keep.
Raiden is at -2 he rolls 9 dice normally and keeps 4. 9-2=7 so now I roll 7.
I like this stat system since it does account for fatigue, and other things.
FZ it's your turn.

Got it, getting ready to go...
Squishy Cheeks
06-25-2004, 09:29 AM
14 left. There are 4 in bat girl's house. 5 are trying to get inside. and the other 5 seem to be crowding arond something. It almost looks like they're feeding on something.
Next round:
Izumi
zombies
Raiden
Shiroku
Yoshi
Fatigue penalties:
Raiden: -2+1(from yoshi's spell)=1
Shiroku: -1
Yoshi: -2
Izumi: 0
