I realize that my titles are going to fall apart if I cannae accurately describe the antagonist entities in the movie I've watched. Give me a break! I just saw The Mist.

Which is entirely different from The Fog (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6m31wSrpHTc). First off, it's based off of a Stephen King story, and (b), it's one of the only movies I've seen that would work better in two parts.

The Cast includes Thomas Jane as David Drayton, Nathan Gamble as his son Billy, and Marcia Harden as Mrs. Carmody.
The Plot starts us off in Maine, where a hurricane ravages the town. David takes shelter in the basement with his wife and son, and emerges the next morning to find out his boat house has been smashed, his window smashed and his latest painting ruined. He takes Billy and his next door neighbor to the store to pick up a few quick fixes - along with several other people looking to do the same, but they quickly end up trapped in the store by a thick mist.
Well, not so much the mist itself, but what's in the mist.

My Personal Opinion is that this movie would be better if it just focused on one location. I'm not the biggest fan of movies like Life Boat, where the confrontation is man vs. man, because that's not scary to me. While everyone is trapped in the store, it takes a bit for things to get started.

When a monster does show up, it doesn't exactly show up. You don't get a good look at what it is, only that it's strong, big, and can seriously ruin your day. So that's well done. Then, there's the politics in the store, where Mrs. Carmody proves herself to be a self-righteous religious nut trying to preach about the "end times," and actually starts gathering support.

It's just that the politics are uninteresting to me. It seems accurate to what would happen to a bunch of scared grown ups in a scary situation, but I've never liked that sort of drama. The monsters, on the other hand, are very interesting to me - from a biological standpoint. My curiosity wins over any fear that I might have - what are these things? What's the food chain? How do they work?
The Final Opinion is a resounding "meh." Not overly thrilled on this one. Interesting concept, interesting creatures, probably accurate to what would happen if the situation happens, but it's kind of mediocre.
