Hello.

Recently as most of you are probably aware I made the decision to turn off the forum for a couple of days.

Here's the brief bullet-point:
-- After several thread reports came in, I basically saw that the staff all had to take breaks from their holiday(s)/family/guests, myself included, to deal with people arguing on an Internet message board. Note that Krylo and McTahr were both graciously available and attentive.

-- I chose to put the thing on hold and encourage the general userbase to take a break from pounding away at keyboards for a day or three. I wouldn't have considered was NPF at all more than the small-time corner of the Internet it's become.

-- I did muse on the negative effects this would have on The Dreadful and other elements of the community, such as Forum RPs and the like. I was not aware at the time that it also affected the chat, so there's that too. Ultimately I didn't reverse my choice until Matt, by way of POS and Krylo, reached out to complain about the unfair lack of notice for him and how it harmed discussion of his comic. I am aware of and completely accepting of responsibility for the negative ramifications the choice had for others and am willing to answer to that fully. NPF is (and can be!) so much more than the bad portions of it none of us like.

Presently I offer the following:
We have a rules thread (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showthread.php?t=38037) and a moderator conduct thread (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showthread.php?t=38035). Paired with the information and agreement(s) within if anyone feels strongly enough that these have been violated, ignored, or the like, I encourage you to follow through on those feelings. None of us is above reproach, myself by all means included.

I hope you had a safe and pleasant holiday season, whatever you do or do not celebrate, with friends, family, and loved ones.

Well it's not like The Dreadful is a much discussed thing here, but I still think of this forum as being the comic's home(at least till I get my own site for it).

So it seemed a little weird to think that in the wake of the recently released New Years Special the only place anyone could discuss the comic was outside of NPF.

I usually don't like to complain or cause drama, but I felt I had to say something.

EDIT: I also appreciate that you actually listened and considered it :)

Dear Mods: I love you and I'm sorry if any of y'all believed for even one second I did not love you.
(That'd be equally true even if you decided to kick my sorry ass to the curb. Okay, maybe slightly less true, but still generally true.)

It's a miracle this forum is still up considering things that have happened in the past. Can't we just all fucking hug each other and become a ball of love and peace? I know the answer is no. I was different once, though.

For me the forum died the day Smarty was banned. Rest in piece, little angel. Rest in peace.

I have no idea what was happening, but I came to the forum in a really bad time needing somewhere to go, and the switch was flipped literally as I was posting about it.

Thanks obama.

But no one should have to quit christmas to deal with forum drama.

Mostly, the downtime made me less sad about myself, and more worried for synk, so I'm glad you're okay. even if you ignoredmy steam friend request. you monster.

Also, part of what led to me being not super awesome was that my computer has become functionality impaired, so all of my typoes are a byproduct of typing on a phone. not, like, some deep seated depression or something, that manifests itself in lazy typing.

Oh yeah also I should conclude with the fact that I am doing better now so no harm no foul, and do not beat yourself up over it, given that I led with doing poorly.

I suddenly received several Steam friend requests during the barely-a-day the forum was deactivated. So maybe I should do that some more.

But maybe you didn't send it then? I dunno. Does it not let you try again?
