Obviously.

The Hulk is the strongest there is.

Okay, let's talk Bruce Banner. Kind of a nerd, you say? He is the foremost expert on radiation in the Marvel universe. Even Doctor Doom and Reed Richards defer to him (https://scans-daily.dreamwidth.org/4933998.html). He is frequently shown to be one of the smartest people in the world. Even without the Hulk personalities, he's still got some tricks up his sleeve.

Let's talk women - now, as Jekyll and Hyde as Hulk is, so his love interests are a mix of human and alien.

Betty Ross (http://marvelcomic.pl/bios/ross_betty//ross_betty_10.jpg). Both versions (https://arousinggrammardotcom.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/hulk21.jpg). Yowza. Did I mention that she's played by Liv Tyler and Jennifer Connely? ...Yowza.

Caiera. (http://i.stack.imgur.com/fK9rW.jpg) The mother of Hulk's (http://i.stack.imgur.com/AgGGo.jpg) children, member of his Warbound and all around badass. You know she fought him to a standstill? (http://www.brucebanner.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Caiera_Oldstrong_Earth-616_001.jpg)

Jarella. (http://www.netbrawl.com/uploads/1690eb7df5a40e5b9845118e778dfdd0.jpg) A green skinned princess who welcomed Hulk into her tiny kingdom with open arms.

How many superheroes, Gods and cosmic deities has Hulk smashed? So many, you guys. Like, oh, I don't know, Superman (http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/11114/111146542/4379263-1758922-hulk_beats_superman_l.jpg).
Wolverine. (http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/11114/111143776/3731732-wolverine_050_032_033.jpg)
Doctor Strange. (http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/6/69579/1511149-sucker_punch_from_hulk.jpg) Fun fact, Doctor Strange is kind of the sorcerer, casting powerful magic spells with a wave of his hand. So Hulk breaks his hands in World War Hulk.
Iron Man. (http://cdn.niketalk.com/8/84/842b0d16_2315615696_fe58c6aba5_o.jpeg)
The X-Men. (http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100310051328/marveldatabase/images/1/13/World_War_Hulk_X-Men_Vol_1_1.jpg)
Sentry. (http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/11112/111129726/3382069-4bis.jpg)
Black Bolt. (http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/11117/111177432/4022197-2f15b0cf_16.jpeg)
Loki. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gouq9_TbSe0) "Puny God."
All of the Avengers. At once. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRaw2f4to8w)
Abomination. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z02M17sXzGQ)

So, super sexy, intelligent and suave scientist (or rather, shy, awkward and dorky, but apparently both descriptions mean the same thing (http://data2.whicdn.com/images/47775630/large.gif) these days.) accidentally irradiates himself, turns into the Hulk, becomes the greatest super hero in the world.

Just, y'know, leave him alone. (http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u59/Poetisch/Hulk_zpsy5ea8htd.png)

Hulk is so cool that the Illuminati fired him into space because he was too awesome. She-Hulk smashed Iron Man. Hulk took over a planet, met a girl, had some sons, and then Hulk's planet gets blown up by the Illuminati space ship. So Hulk and his friends make their way back to Earth to smash those responsible, straight up beats down some of the mightiest heroes of all time (Black Bolt, Sentry, Doctor Strange) and then builds a coliseum where humanity kicks back and watches some blood sports.

What part of the Illuminati fired the Hulk into space is boring?

Also, Hulk is Hulk. Joe Fixit is dapper.

After watching some Avengers cartoons, watching him go back to "Hurr smash" made me sad.

No lie, my favorite super hero in the Marvelverse is Captain America precisely because he's so 'boring.'

There's just something incredibly refreshing about a decent human being with decent moral values stumbling his way into being a superhero, then refusing to compromise in spite of his comparative powerlessness

Like, with Superman the dynamic's always: He can afford in some respects to have that strong moral framework because he's so overpowered that he's rarely in a position other superheroes find themselves in, where they have to consider compromising those values in order to subdue a superior foe

With Captain America, fuck, those are his values, and he's not going to waver, even if it kills him.
And damn, that's respectable.

Boring, maybe. But respectable as fuck.

Comics characters change so many times over the years I don't really have a fave.

Currently I like Wonder Woman a lot, and Jean Grey from All New Xmen.

My fave series of all time is probably Garth Ennis's run on The Punisher.

Then again, come to think of it, I guess my fave character is Kit! :D

Yeah I'm going to have to go with my own character Jenny Creed. In terms of raw power she's basically the Hulk with shape-changing Wolverine claws and a pinch of Human Torch and functional immortality and wow she sounds like an original character from a bad fanfiction when you put it like that.

She also happens to have access to every real and fictional reality imaginable, so she's completely justifiable as an original character insert in fanfiction.

Superhero comics taught me so much about writing.

My character "My Character Can Always Beat Your Character" and my other character "My Dad Can Beat Up Your Dad" were pretty cool.

Oh has everyone seen those Justice League: Gods and Monsters shorts yet? It's a darker alternative continuity where they've got different people in the roles of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

Apparently Superman is General Zod's son, Batman is the guy who's normally Man-Bat and Wonder Woman is instead one of the New Gods.

I didn't care for the Batman one too much but the other two were pretty neat.

WW being one of the New Gods isn't too far from her New 52 origin.

Spiderman has always been a favorite of mine, in spite of the recent "Amazing" movies.

The second one was surprisingly awesome, though I still dislike Garfield himself as an actor.

But yeah, Spider-man was so dang groundbreaking in that he was the first solo teenage superhero, first one to habitually deal with realistic problems, etc.

Spider-man- If my name didn't make it obvious.

Spider-man is alot like how Solid Snake described Captain America. A guy thrust into power and now has to go toe to toe with some of the best and worst the world has to offer. Unlike Rogers, Parker is much younger and initially without resources, training or even a strong moral code to lean on.

He does however have his mind. Although he doesn't list high among the minds of marvel Hank Pym is amazed at what Parker has made. Such as his "Spider Tracker" which is tiny and broadcasts directly to his spider sense. Pym was stunned as Spidy just created something orders of magnitude better then his Helmet/suit, in his spare time with a highschooler's allowance.

Tony has said that if Peter had his resources he would build better things then his suit.

Then we have spider sense which is basically gamebreaking when paired with his agility and flexibility. That allows him to react to almost anything that is dangerous near instantly. Making him one of the toughest super heros to hit (outside of super speeders)

However Like Captn Spider-man is about level with B or even C list villians. The only reason he is among the giants like Thor and iron man is because of his persistence, quick wits and his adaptability.

And his randomness.

No seriously many villans point out that spiderman doesn't have a set patrol like other heroes fall into occasionally. he Randomly swings around with no pattern in mind. Making him more likely to stumble upon the odd mugging/robbery then other street level heroes. Allowing him to easily bag and tag.

So hey, I've been getting a lot of run time out of Comics Explained... mostly Hulk stuff, and I thought hey, while there was this great thread here, it seems a shame to waste it.

Basically I found out a lot more about the Hulk and wanted to talk about him, now that he's been killed by Hawkeye.

---------- Post added at 09:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:55 PM ----------

The Hulk is a hero that has tried to kill himself. The Hulk has several emotional problems, including multiple personality disorder and anxiety. The Hulk is a gentle giant who just wants to be left alone, but is adept at making friends with animals and children.

He is big, and he is strong and he's always tried to save people. There are times where the writers went crazy and wrote his character to be a crazy beast, but on the whole, Bruce Banner has proven himself to be a good person who just wants acceptance, but is always anxious that something will cause him to turn into Hulk, so he keeps to himself and doesn't really let himself get close to anyone.

He is strong enough to do anything he wants. Everybody should leave him alone. He could dance ballet and no one would say anything.

And I can get being angry just all of the time.

Yeah, Superman has plenty of slack in most situations, but that doesn't make him less interesting for me. There was that quote from Abraham Lincoln: "Nearly all men can withstand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power." It's kind of a 'what you are in the dark' situation.
