New TF2 Comic arrives, and it is a doozy!

After nearly a YEAR of waiting, Valve remembered that it had been working on a comic series at some point and had left it on a rather unpleasant cliffhanger (http://www.teamfortress.com/tf04_blood_in_the_water/)! Not unlike a certain video game franchise they may or may not remember making way back when!

Well, the waiting is FINALLY over (for the comic, anyway. Half-Life 3 will never see the light of day) as Valve released Team Fortress Comics #5: Old Wounds (http://www.teamfortress.com/tf05_old_wounds/) on August 21st! And I gotta say, it's totally worth the wait! It's nearly EIGHTY "pages" long (granted some "pages" are single panels, or duplicate pages with a single new box of text)! A lot of the characters a chance to shine, we get some much-deserved plot development with the Classic mercs, Gray Mann, and the Administrator, and of course Zhanna remains Zhanna. Which means she remains amazing.

The main Comics page on teamfortress.com/comics.php has also updated to include spaces for Episodes 6 and 7, which means there are only two issues left. Maybe Valve will make them before we all grow old and retire! (Just kidding I love you Valve, call me)

I also wondered why Spy called Heavy "Mikhail." I don't remember anyone using that name for him before. Heavy called himself Misha in an earlier issue, as did his sisters. Is that his name or just a term of endearment? Or did Valve just forget that he had a name because it's been so freaking long since they last wrote a comic?

TFwiki says "Misha" was short for Mikhail. Or it was because it was TF Classic Spy disguised as Heavy and Spy was testing something.

Oh hey, BLU team is finally getting some love! I was going to come here and say I was a little disappointed that the apparent Halloween Update was Community Made but I'm happy they at least made a movie and are plannign a big update for the end of the year (read: sometime in the next five years). Even though most of the mercs' audio is from the in-game files, Demoman trying to figure out how to use 3d glasses and Soldier being Soldier kind of make up for that.

Edit: I read the post explaining why there's no big Halloween event this year, so I'm editing out my standard "seriously though what are Valve's actual employees doing" snark. I forgive them.

Whatever Valve is working on, it sure as hell ain't HL3.
