Talos, Jericho, Tamona and Delmenon are going to the Avariel city, they need to keep their numbers low as to not be noticed. SS, I was hoping that you and Bombshell would be able to meet up with Scott (VG2000) and the Ogre in order to bring them into the storyline, then go on a sidequest, and have the whole group reunite after both objectives were completed. You were omitted out of necessity, not anything personal; it just kind of formed that way. (personally, I think that bringing Tamona along is still a bit of a stretch.)
Dragonsbane

Talos wouldn't go without Tamona, and in a city built on a big metal disk.....I'd say that her magnetic powers will be fairly useful.

Talos is sort of starting to hate Delmenon because he doesn't like his and Tamona's relationship. I was thinking about possessing an Avariel and grossing you out when you got to the gate.
Dragonsbane
06-19-2004, 12:53 PM
you have any idea how hard it is to gross out a barbarian? Consider some of the stuff they eat! Besides, Tamona would just smack Talos with her mace......the drow are a matriarchal society, remember? She's a female, and in her opinion a male relative wouldn't be someone to choose whether or not she can do this sort of thing.
Delmenon would just get mad if you keep killing Avariel, since Gwaethir might get suspicious.
Jaguar
06-19-2004, 12:59 PM
I'm aware of that. Talos has his Shadow power, enabling him to dodge any attack Tamona might possibly try to hit him with. Tamona, on the other hand, has the power of Magnetism, which could make the whole city implode. Also, keep in mind that Delmenon is also male, and additionally, not even Drow.
Dragonsbane
06-19-2004, 01:52 PM
but he isn't disagreeing with Tamona, is he? Besides, she knows that he comes from a different culture, and might get offended if she began bossing him around.

I thought we were supposed to be saving the Avariel, not making them spontaniously explode.

She made a face at him, winked, then smiled as best as she could with the gag on as he tied it more tightly....
How romantic.

Also, Jericho wasn't totally taking over the control of the air in there or anything, he was merely offsetting some of Gwaethir's control. Think of it as an "Island of good in a sea of evil." kind of thing. A little bubble at Jericho's control.

for mentioning your SAAW, you should be smacked.....with a spiked mace....
anyway, the air in the throne room is alive, and semi-sentient. It's actually a powerful Air Elemental that is bound to serve the royal family. It was saddened by the king killing his own daughter, and also by Gwaethir becoming evil and taking the throne. It wants its people (the Avariel) to be free....so if you can communicate with it.....*hint hint*

Bombshell, I would like to make a special request.
Your inner diologues between "Ziff" and Lance are extremely confusing, but not because of anything intentional on your part, but it is the lack of description. We have no Idea who is talking.
May I suggest that you put a little extra detail into your diologue posts?
take for example your last post, which do you think is easier to read:
ORIGINAL VERSION:
"I sense this turning into a war. A war of good against evil. I've been waiting and it is time." "Or is it time Lance?" "What? You again. I told you get out of my head." "This time I'm not in your head Lance... I'm here." "What impossible!" "Or is it Lance? " "No stop speaking. You're dead. You couldn't of survived that. And besides only me and my master know that you're dead. So how can you be here." "Start the war Lance but end it with the good winning." "I'll start the war. I will end it for which ever side I want to win."
MODIFIED VERSION:
"I sense this turning into a war. A war of good against evil." Lance brooded to himself as he walked through the corridors. "I've been waiting and it is time."
"Or is it time Lance?" A voice echoed from within his own mind.
"What? You again. I told you get out of my head." Lance shouted harshly into the darkness.
"This time I'm not in your head Lance... I'm here." Ziff called from an unknown location.
"What impossible!" Lance cried, a hint of old fear in his voice.
"Or is it Lance? " Ziffs mocking voice continued.
"No stop speaking. You're dead. You couldn't of survived that." Lance called desperatelly into the darkness. "And besides only me and my master know that you're dead. So how can you be here?"
"Start the war Lance but end it with the good winning." Ziffs voice replied, ignoring the question.
Rage welled up within the Pyromancers form, he swore into the darkness vowing, "I'll start the war. I will end it for which ever side I want to win!"
See the difference?

I mean no dissrespect, I just think that a little attention to detail would make the RP run a lot smoother, and provide more oportunity for the others to join in on your adventure. If Gwaethir is defeated and we cannot understand what is going on on your side, we would be most likely to move on in a different direction.

Okay, Muktar (our head guard!) This is what we need from you.
name:
race:
age:
weapon:
description:
element:
alignment:
Here is a brief re-cap of the events and back-story. You will have to look through the previous chapters and the other's character sheets if you want more.
The basic idea is that hundreds of years ago (fantasy level of time kind of thing), A group of Evil was formed in order to conquer and destroy the world. Each of the members of this group had the power of one of the elements of the earth. As their rein of terror spread over the land, a second group was formed.
This group was gung-ho for the greater good. They met up and vowed to defeat the Evil elementals. Each of these characters also controls and element, and in one case: two.
THE GOODS: (Based on the people who actually post now and then)
Ziff: Fire element (Bombshell)
Jericho: Wind element (Slightly Aboveaverage Man)
Scott: Lightning element (Videogamerz2000)
Delmenon: Earth & Fire (Dragonsbane)
Talos: Shadow (Jaguar)
Jack: Earth (Secretskull)
and Tamona is Talos' NPC sister, who controls Magnetism.
An addition to the Ice, Water, or Light catagories would be appreciated.
The EVILS: (we are allowed to have Two characters, a good and an evil... With the exception of Jaguar, who has 3 characters for some reason.)
Lance: Fire (Bombshell)
Tanthalas: Lightning (Jaguar)
Judas: Water (Slightly Aboveaverage Man)
Zephyrhagen (known as Ze): Ice (Jaguar)
Gwaethir: Wind (Dragonsbane)
Cho'Gond and Cho'Gore: Mind (Dementedmongoose)
An addition to the Earth, Shadow, or Magnetism catagories would be appreciated here.
So far, there seems to be a power struggle in the Evil side as to who is leading them, it is between Gwaethir and Judas. The Evils have spread throughout the land and are wreaking havoc wherever they go. A former Evil of Shadow: Talos has joined forces with the Good side in order to free his sister from the clutches of his Evil brother Tanthalas. The good side came to his aide and stormed the monestary where Tamona, the sister was being held. Tamona was released, and Tanthalas, and Ze were forced to flee from the battle.
A little while beforehand, Judas had lead the forces of evil to a cave dug within a mountain, revealing many stone pillars which posessed spirits representing each of the elements. Judas herself is actually being controlled by one of these spirits against her will, and the Spirit has total influence over her and her actions. Several of the Evils accepted these spirits, boosting their power exponentially. (The Spirit of Water was the only one that was inherantly evil).
As their next course of action, several of the Heroes decided that they would embark on a mission to free a spiecies of Winged Elves known as the Avaraels. They had been enslaved by the Gwaethir, Evil of Wind hundreds of years ago after their king killed Gwaethir's love. Jericho (who used to have a relationship with Judas before she became posessed), Delmenon, Talos, and Tamona are now inside the city of the Avarael (which floats in the air). They discovered how Gwaethir took over the city and are now confronting him within the throne room. Jack, and Scott have just shown up in the city and are fighting their way to the Citidel.
Ziff, (Who has been killed and resurected some 20 times during the course of this RP) was apparently killed again, and seems to be inhabiting the skull of his old friend Lance, the Evil of Fire. I can't tell you much about all of this, because frankly, I don't get it either.
So that's pretty much it. Make your Char and we'll find some way to insert you into the Story.

Name: Garis Sonoffalis
Race: Human
Age: 32
Weapon: A sturdy wooden staff with bronze plated tips.
Description: Male, lean, tanned, with light brown hair. Wears loose white robes bound tight at the waist, wrists, and ankles. Agile and quick in mind and body, his main physical weakness is lack of brute strength.
Element: Light
Alignment: Good
Name: Falis Sonoffelin
Race: Human
Age: 53
Weapon: A dagger in his sleeve.
Description: Male, lanky, pale, slightly graying black hair. Wears simple dark peasent's clothes under a black cloak with a hood. Evasive and frail, the asset he adds to the group is focus on the long-term goals.
Element: Shadow
Alignment: Evil
The names and ages should provide enough detail as to their connection, and their elements imply how they look toward each other. Hopefully I've made a good contribution with my coming.
Dragonsbane
07-10-2004, 07:19 PM
I'd recommend changing Garis's element to light, or ice, since we already have a Hero of Shadow (Talos). Maybe he got a different element (and alignment) from his mother's side of the family?
Heh, yours are some of the least godmoddy characters we have.....good job, and welcome to the RP!
SAAM forgot a few things.......I'll bring you up to speed on them.
Delmenon and Tamona have a bit of a.....relationship........and since Talos doesn't seem to approve, he and Delmenon aren't speaking to eachother much.
Gwaethir Hurricane can be one arrogant sonofabitch, but he's powerful, driven, and has more allies than Judas. Plus, even if he loses his enslaved kingdom of Avariel (he is an Avariel himself, by the way.......go way back and find the original sign-up and evil sign-up threads to find out these details) he's still going to control an immense amount of conquered territory. There is a very slim chance under very slim circumstances of him switching sides, but it's very unlikely.
Ziff/Lance are really different sides of the same person, in my theory......sort of a Gollum/Smeagol thing (look at some of their conversations if you don't believe me!).
If things get worse, and Jericho's newly-discovered Air Elemental can't or won't stop Gwaethir, then Delmenon is about to summon a huge, ancient dragon.....a power of Earth and Fire to attack Gwaethir's palace and distract him.
A tip: look for interesting tricks for your element, it helps!

07-10-2004, 08:39 PM
Interesting tricks? You mean stuff that is plausable but aren't obvious? I can seeing blinding attacks and illusions (bent light) for Garis and fear effects and invisibility for Falis (are you scared of the dark?). So you know, neither of Falis's parents passed powers down to him, he was born with them inate (think D&D sorceror or psion). His father thought his son was a freak and tried to kill him. Obviously, it didn't work and his father was cast into supernatural darkness, hence the Shadow element. I figured an obscure reason for Falis's power would be needed since there already was an Evil Shadow.
Dragonsbane
07-10-2004, 09:14 PM
I see LASERS for Garis, actually *evil grin* and healing magic, and purifying, and burning things.....the possibilities are endless!
Faris can probably do stuff similar to what Talos could do. Stuff like possessing people (until Delmenon used Purging Flames to hurt him and force him out), becoming invisible, teleporting....
let's put it this way: Gwaethir flies, can tear people apart using intensified wind, can harden air into blades inside someone's lungs, can remove air from an area around a victim (if he's feeling cruel), can speed the motion of molecules in the air to produce heat, can slow down the molecules in the air to produce cold.
You can have a LOT of powers, no matter what element you pick!
Ganurath
07-10-2004, 09:23 PM
Oh. I see Falis blocking light energy from getting into people, blinding and freezing them simulataneously. As for Garis, I'm thinking something akin to Gwaethir's razor wind, but light instead. On a less violent note, there's clairvoyance.
Dragonsbane
07-10-2004, 09:42 PM
Gwaethir's attack is a bit more badass than that, even though the Heroes have been able to beat it so far. He hardens the air into big blades and cuts people with them...not just a bunch of little razors.
By the way....I should have clarified this earlier, Gwaethir isn't possessed by the Spirit of Air (which became inherently evil at some point in the past), but it has been convincing him to oppress his people, and kill innocents, since he slew the Avariel king and his court.
trust me, though, a huge laser would be an awesome attack! Especially since Delmenon has recently gained a super-high-temperature energy-beam-type attack! Basically a really intense heat ray........and he knows Pyroclasm...

No HoP we didn't, but you didn't post for a while so he kind of got lost in the sands of time if you get my drift. Most of my posts which had to do with bringing the rest of the group up to Gwaethir's city were just that: "The rest of the group."
So it is implied that you are with Jack, Scott and Cho'gond & Cho'gore fighting your way to the citadel. (Where me, DB and Jaguar are now)
Edit: and Muktar, your chars look excellent. We'll find some way of inserting them into the story.
DB, I didn't forget, but I didn't want to put every little detail in there because I once again had work in a couple hours. NOT TODAY BIATCH! I got the whole fugging day off!
Dragonsbane
07-11-2004, 12:24 PM
yeah.........by the way, before you try and kill Gwaethir and take his powert, I'll give you a tip. He's the king now, the elemental can't turn against him (though you made it try, and it was a valiant effort, too!), and you can't steal his power. You notice how he keeps toying with you, seeming to be using only a fraction of his true power? He's got the Spirit of Air appearing in his mind as Xaetharra, and convincing him that the heroes want to overthrow his kingdom so they can bring back a king as corrupt as the old one. He believes you are mages that want to bring his city crashing to the ground, so the people of the "crawling races" can enslave his people and loot his city.
He was once a nice guy, so if you stop attacking him, and convince him to see the truth....then he'll try and turn the Spirit of Air away from evil. Basically, the Spirits are originally neutral, but when defeated in mental combat their alignment becomes the same as that of the person who defeated them. At some point in the past, the Spirit of Air was controlled by an evil person, so she became evil.........if Gwaethir reverts to being good, if you convince him he was wrong without constantly attacking, then he'll help you. You get what you came for, and Gwaethir will start ruling his people differently....

07-11-2004, 03:23 PM
Interesting, though you gave the impression that the Elemental was the source of the power in this room and that it should be the first to be turned.
Dragonsbane
07-12-2004, 08:12 AM
if it questions him, he'll question himself......you notice he actually became upset? Trying to steal his power reaffirmed his paranoia, but you almost reached him. The elemental makes him incredibly strong here, but it never questioned his decisions before.....and he was very disturbed by the way it almost turned on him. Trying to turn the elemental WAS the right thing to do, but it wasn't the ONLY thing to do....you still have a way to go before he gives up.

One more thing....Talos is starting to seem like a bit of a pervert....
Jaguar
07-13-2004, 08:43 AM
Keep in mind that drow males are like slaves to drow females and will do almost anything to help them. Plus, Tanthalas would be the pervert. He stripped her naked. But he's intended to be a pervert because he's evil.
Too true, Delmenon, except that he wasn't targeting Delmenon himself. He was targeting Demenon's armor. Metal, as we all know, is subject to manipulation by electreicity.

OOC: the barbarians wouldn't care.....and since when can Judas destroy hundreds of thousands of people? Wait.....if she can, then so can the other Evil (or ex-Evil) who's been enhanced by a Spirit for a long time.
I'm trying to get the point across that the armies of every race within the world are unifying under an intense threat... and the threat is so evil that their efforts are in vain. Besides, I haven't had much of a chance to really explore her power yet.
Secondly, Gwaethir's relationship with his spirit is more like a Symbiotic one. Judas' is more of a dominance of wills.
Remember, before Judas was posessed she was just an ordinary elf. The Spirit of Water which is possessing her is in fact, pure evil. Not just evil because the last person it infected (yeah, that's the right word) was evil, but It is the most intelectually advanced Spirit of all of them.
Gwaethir was being influenced. Judas is being controlled. but not by some ordinary spirit, but by the power of Water itself. This power has the ability to grant or remove any water it so desires.
Judas removed all the water from the bodies of the Army, leaving them completely mummified and turning them to dust.

actually, SAAM, that's the reason why Gwaethir was stronger than Judas earlier.....he still has access to his own, brilliant mind.....though it was clouded and deluded by the Spirit of Air. He's more dangerous now, he kept the power but is himself again. He could probably use the same trick he used on Ze to destroy an army, or just suffocate them.....ah, pointless to speculate. He was being controlled by the Air counterpart of the thing controlling Judas.
Also, it kinda goes against what we've been saying to make one whole element evil by nature. It makes more sense for them to be neutral, but something upset the balance. Thus, Judas can't be controlled by some ultimate manifestation of water, because that would make the entire element evil. And how can it be intellectually advanced when it wants power? It's an element, what would it want with power!
I said he was hovering in midair, Jaguar...and the Shield was part of his plan to stop lightning bolts.

Point 1: What the crap? I am gone for an hour and half the people in the RP die... and one of them wasn't bombshell!
Point 2: remember how Jericho is always talking about balance? In this world everything must have a balance. If there is an element that is totally evil, there must be an element that is totally good to counteract that. Give it time, I plan to have Jericho bring everything into balance at some point.
Point 3: The Water element was the first to become fully Sentient, and in some ways, Omnicient. (Like how Judas seems to know what is going on everywhere and know everyone from 'past encounters.') The other Elements act more on animal Instinct, being maleable to their environment: like how too many Evil hosts resulted in the Spirit of Air becoming evil.
The Water element on the other hand, could think purely for itself. It Chose evil, it wasn't influenced by anything. Of course, to the Water, it seems like it is doing what it thinks is right.

I thought that there was a good and evil force for each element, the Heroes and the Evils? Evils is just an odd name, but Bombshell made it up WAY long ago and it kinda stuck....
I thought Judas was just being godmoddy? *looks innocent* kidding, I thought she was just well-informed, or could scry. Either way, Gwaethir was still kicking her ass when they fought, until Tanthalas interfered.....
this is confusing........and for once it isn't Smeagol and Gollum-I mean Ziff and Lance, confusing me.

Jericho stepped out onto a balcony of the citidel, viewing the Avariel city as the daylight waned into darkness. The celebrations still continued and would probably go on for days; this is a city that had not experienced true freedom in centuries. Much had to be caught up on. Crowds of Avariels swept through the city on both the land and the air, their jubilation causing them to forget the attrocities that had been committed by the Drow for the time being.
But Jericho's attention was not focused upon the rejoicing Avariels, but on the Winds of Change that swept through the land. Odd feelings and readings came to him from lands far away. Fear, Love, Hate, and Sadness; but one feeling rang loud above the others. Sex.
In through the winds of the east, the voices of hundreds of thousands screaming in unison rang over the drone of the celebrating Avariels. Jericho joined in, screaming,
"I WANT PUSSY!"

Jericho looks around at the shattered city...
"Anybody got any duct tape?"
Gwaethir walks in and sees his city split in half with Jericho presiding over it. He glowers at Jericho, who stares wide eyed at Gwaethir, then puts his hands out in front of him.
"I know what your thinkin'..."
