The Underworld's Ruler has recently died. Cause of death is unknown, but the Ruler no longer exist. Having no spawns or children, there are no heirs to the throne. Which means that 90% of the demons are now trying to become the next Underworld Ruler. To do so, the demon(s) have to get to the Underworld Capitol Castle, and hold there position in there until no one dares oppose them.

Demons can look like anything and can do anything (Not one demon, but overall). So as long as you aren't an angel or human (Or to overpowered), then any character you make should be fine. I'm most likely brining Dou back since I don't think that fantasy RP is going to start.

There can only be one Ruler (By law, but it’s a world of demons, laws aren’t really obeyed), but the amount of power that the Ruler gets leads to back stabbing between partners or groups trying to rule. It’s one Ruler, and followers (Ruler can almost always kill the followers, unless they are really honorable, or cursed, or just like following over ruling (The 10%)).

We will all be in one group that has past relations (Most likely), so after characters are made it will be put together how they all know each other.

Technology is modern with a fantasy twist. So there are guns, and there are giant metal robot suits. But, for whatever reason, guns don’t do much against demon skin (Or skin equivalent).

Adding this is for whatever reason. When a human dies, they become a demon (Keeping there human memories). Their demon form and powers is pretty random, but it’s easy to change your form (Not powers) with the right connections and money. When a demon dies, they become a human again, but lose all of their memories. This process repeats until they live a human life which is deemed worthy enough to go to Heaven.

The goal is to get enough power by any means (Get followers, find legendary items, ally yourself with some powerful demon and hope you can later trick him, etc, etc). But, since we are a group, there should be many points of backstabbing and tricks to get rid of possible problems to your eventual sole ruling of the Underworld. None of you are strong enough to do it alone, so you need a couple of the others alive.

Appearance: This demon looks like a giant, armored, bipedal wolf. He has two huge wolf-like legs with large claws. His upper torso is like that of a giant, muscular human with black fur. He has four arms. Two are human but have long claws and fur, with which he can carry weapons and such. The others are really large and muscular, ending in wicked, serrated pincers. He has a long, spiked, furry tail and a wolf head. His tongue, however, is that of a snake. He's 14 feet tall and weighs 963 pounds. This demon can also run on all fours, letting him run faster and attack with his teeth and pincer arms.
Weapons/Armor: This demon has a really large halberd which he carries with his human-like hands. His plate mail armor is spiked and black.
Abilities/Powers:
Jump: While he cannot fly, this demon can leap great distances, even while wearing armor. He uses this ability to leap onto a foe, stabbing or slashing them as he comes down.
Venom: This demon's teeth, pincers, and claws can inject a powerful poison into an opponent, causing them to be phisically weakened.
Whirl Sweep: Carnaraska can create a whirlwind attack with the axe head of his halberd, enabling him to strike multiple foes.
Background: This demon is barbaric and bloodthirsty. His name is a slang term for "carnage and death." Before becoming a demon, Carnaraska was a street brawler who always fought dirty. Now, he's a very strong melee opponent.

Background: He was once a human sorcerer who was adventuring to become powerful enough to planeswalk to ancient Netheril of a far away planet on a material plane similar to his, but far separated. When he finally learned to planeswalk, he started trying it, but was sucked into a planet of Ancient Gold Wyrms who quickly divined his purpose and had him killed by Zambufu. He has been slowly recuperating in the underworld from that ordeal and has a fear of other males.

Age: 169

Sex: I'M not gonna count his chromosomes. And neither should you. But his human form was that of a male.

Appearance: Well, that's the kicker. He has no form. He's a big fucking amoeba. Kinda like the Water Temple boss from Zelda: OoT. Most of his formless body is a translucent blue with particles floating around in it, presumably food or the latest person who insulted him, or both. He has a freaky reddish nucleus, and his total body mass is pretty big. Probably around that of a small car, like a Gremlin. Mostly water and such. Being a demi-shape shifter, he can form his body into different shapes. He usually just kinda flows along, but he sometimes goes around in a humanoid form, which is large, given his weight and size. No matter his shape, his coloring is the same, and he usually keeps the nucleus in that shape's center of gravity, or middle, whichever comes first.

Weapons/armor: Nothing. If he needs something, he just 'absorbs' it, enclosing it in a vacuole. It's not uncommon for him to be seen with money, papers, or a demon's head, perfectly preserved in his body.

Abilities/powers:
Pseudopods – Amadeus can form lil' appendages, that can grab stuff and toss it around. He can also suffocate a demon, by forcing himself down its throat. If his concentration is disrupted, however, fancy crap like that won't work.
Envelop – Works best on dead or unconscious prey, he eats whatever it is, and digests it. If still alive when eaten, whatever it is will either die from lack of air or counterattack. It takes over a day to digest a human-sized being, and the time differs depending on the size and composition of the being.
Senses – He is capable of hearing and feeling vibrations, tasting and smelling. He can 'see' in various wavelengths, although not in the normal spectrum.
Invulnerable – Attacking the cytoplasm won't get you very far, since it'll quickly reform. However...
Weaknesses: If possible, drawing the nucleus outside if the body and attacking it is the easiest way to seriously damage Amadeus. Freezing and electricity are also recommended, since the former will usually immobilize him, although he is still aware of his surroundings, and the latter works well because he is very conductive. Fire works moderately well, but most other crap is useless.

Background: During life, Amadeus was a conniving, scheming, brutal underling of an organized crime syndicate. He always switched sides, sometimes because he wanted to be on the winning side, other times for no real reason at all. He never held anything in high regard, never having a goal in mind, never dedicating his life to something other than whores, liquor, and killing. When his eventual death came, he was not only surprised to find himself in the Underworld, but also that his body was now a puddle of endoplasm.

Extra: Because he lacks a mouth, Amadeus communicates using thought speak, denoted by <>. But that's all he can do, no mind-reading or anything else. He can, however, change the distance, volume, and even the listeners with ease.

demented, demons only have the memories from there last human life. Meaning your guy would only be around 30ish (Depending on when he died, but accident makes me think young), and he wouldn't remember anything about wars. That, and you seem stupid overall, so smarten up.

Zw, how is it 1069 years old, but in it's human life he was part of an organized crime syndicate? I don't think those would have existed 1000 years ago. Also, demon forms are random, not chosen by the Powers That Be (I was originally going to do that, but then how would there be demon chairs or giant evil penguins?).

Apperance:He is human shaped, covered in fireproof black scales with large black horns sprouting from his head. He wraps himself in blue flames to make himself appear more powerful, and gives him a source of blue fire to manipulate.When he wraped in fire he hovers slightly above the ground.
Weapons:He wields a large black katana coated in blue flames.
Abilities/Powers:
Blue fire - He can manipulate blue fire in any way.
Increased speed - Because he hovers slighlty above the ground, he move extremely fast
Cross gaps - Again, due to hoverting, he can cross small gaps when traveling at speed
Samurai spirit - Because of his life as a samurai, he is very skilled with a wide array of weapons
Background: He was a feared and deadly samurai as a human, but was killed by a ninja assasin in his sleep. He now spends his time fighting other demons, mostly because he loves the feeling of battle.
Extra: When angerd(sp?) he increases in size. Without a source of blue fire he is much less powerful and must rely on his samurai skill to keep him alive.

He has slightly tanned skin, each eye contains a silver pupil and a black iris. He also has 2 ebony black wings resembling bat wings, and he has pearly white fangs to match. His skin has become grafted with his armor, so his skin is effectively a jet black titanium alloy armor. He wears a silver cloak that cuts off just above his heels.
Weapons/Armor: Light Abilities, fangs (in a pinch), wing buffet, wing slash, various martial techniques, cloak (has a bladed hem used to damage, disarm, deflect, and defend against attacks). His skin is effectively his armor.
Abilities/Powers:
Light Control - Khadafi has complete control over light and he takes advantage of his intellect to think of creative ways to use this power, not to simply mindlessly slaughter enemies.
Flight - Khadafi's wings allow him to fly at near perfect mobility.
Background: Khadafi was actually the Roman soldier who pierced Jesus Christ with Longicolnis. Having never repented for his sins, he became a demon and underwent his metamorphosis. He developed his powers over light in no time at all, and honed them until his wit made him a match for far older and more powerful demons.

She died 1928 in a car crash caused by herself. Due to that and a lot of other sins (like for example she was Very Gluttenous) she was sent to hell. She grew acustomed to being in hell and actually started enjoing it.

cruelty, change the color blind time limit to varies (Depending on how much she puts into it). Just going "BAM! You're color blind" seems cheap. And the age is messed up. And the year for humans if around modern time (2004), so your age doesn't match up. If she was alive in the 1920's, her demon age would be 80+Age of human before dying, not 1568.

Weapons/Armor: His bare, clawed hands are good enough to rip most things to pieces. His skin is also quite durable.
Abilities/Powers: Charge: Running at his opponent like a dog, he rams into them with a large amount of force, which sends them flying a good 10 feet.
Ring of Fire: shoots out a ring of fire around him. Pretty weak, but useful for when he's surrounded.
Fire Blast: Shooting out a snaking blast of pure flames, this projectile can incinerate almost anything in his path. This is Diablo's most powerful technique and leaves him very drained after using it, making him very vulnerable.
Background: He was once the greatest of the three Prime Evils, but was defeated twice at the hands of humans. When his soul was finally set free, the chain for him continued and he became human.

When Diablo was reborn as a human, he was an excellent warrior. He enjoyed killing and it became almost a neccessity for him. After many years of battle, murder, and many other terrible and evil incidences, he was murdered by those who feared he would become too powerful for his own good.

When he became a demon, he somehow had his monstrous form from his first time as a demon, but his powers were significantly weakened and he had no clue that he was so powerful in his original state. This rebirth of Diablo frightened some of the demons who had seen him before, but were relieved when they found out his powers had drained to that of a normal demon. After over a thousand years, his powers grew greatly, but they're still like nothing that they had been before.

Extra: Like mentioned in the background, he's pretty powerful, but not nearly as powerful as the original Diablo.

Since real history only goes back about 2000 years, for this RP world those 2000 years are stretched out to 1,000,000 years. Technology advanced really, really slowly until 1900.

Demons can have kids (If they have the right parts). When a demon born demon dies, they become a human, but they are the insane people (Serial killers, nut jobs, religious leaders, etc, etc).

Demon world's technology is 1900ish, but with some modern day stuff thrown in.

Society is basically a giant ghetto slum. Killing is an every day thing, our most hidious crimes are hobbies, women (Or womenly demons) are less then dirt, and other bad stuff.

Appearance: basically, he is a fusion of an oriental dragon and a european dragon. He stands about 13' high and is about 35' long, wingspan of about 60', bull-like horns, large fangs, snake-like head, spikes all along his spinal column, prehensile tail, blood red scales, black eyes with red irises, his front paws have apposable thumbs while his back ones have a large claw coming out the back of his heel
Weapons/Armor: Also N/A
Abilities/Powers:
-Flight: He can keep it up for about four hours before he needs to rest, two if he flies quickly
-Breath Weapon: Extremely cold gas that freezes on contact
-Regeneration: He has to remain still for about thirty seconds in order for it to begin, and then keep physical activity to a minimum for it to continue working, or in other words no fighting
-He isn't affected by exceptionally cold or hot conditions
Background: Azalekas was once a powerful warrior, he has forgotten his old life as a human. The fact that he has never been one to live in the past, always looking towards the future at what he would do next being the most likely reason. Though Azalekas remembers that even in life he was called a demon, the why is not important to him anymore. Azalekas has spent much of his time as a demon watching the others squabble, learning their weaknesses and then swooping in for the kill. The rare times he would not be able to, he made an alliance with them, and then would soon afterwards slay them when their guard was down.

Your guy is too weak? *snicker* You really should look at some of the other demons here. Your guy is on par with some of the older demons here. Of course, not mini-Diablo. Only the really big demons can beat him easily, but we won't find them much, I think. He's just a follower anyway (unless of course he finds out about his real past, but IHMN won't let that happen), so nothing's really going to happen to him... hopefully.

What's so powerful about that guy? Besides being big, there isn't anything special about him. Just get on his back and he's completely screwed. Dragon tails can't bend to get his back.

But, hot climates would be a big problem for him. If a dragon has a chilling breath, heat is bad.


Also, Diablo is weak. He shoots fire and is big, big deal. Find out about your real past, it won't really matter. You'll just be a weak demon who knows that he was an average-to-slightly above average demon.

Edit - This will start after you all decide as to how your characters have known each other for quite some time (Because otherwise you would never work as a group to get the Ruler position).

I'm not making a character because I haven't felt like it.

By the way, he could use his tail easily enough to remove any offending beings from his back, or his spikes would keep them off. His tail is unusially long and is basically another arm if he needs it.

Azalekas would probably have met them by simply watching them gather, heard what was going on, put two and two together and decided that joining them would be the best possible option for him to gain power.

I didn't know what the word prehinsle meant before, but he can't have that. For one, it makes no sense. A giant dragon suddenly has a small, thin tail (Because most lizard tails are the opposite of that, being wide and long) capable of grabbing things? And two, then he is to powerful. He is large, his obvious power means he should have an obvious weakness, that weakness being his back.

And the spikes do nothing. First off, they are just along the spine. Secondly, they are large, so one could actually use the spikes as cover.

And no to the rage thing. Getting stronger and letting out freezing vapors is to much.

Alrighty, no problem. Though he isn't exactly a lizard, he is more snake-like if anything. He doesn't really look like an european dragon, his body and tail are more along the lines of an oriental dragon. If you've seen Spirited Away, he is like that dragon except his tail is longer and the other details I noted.

Well, my character has basically become a nuisance to everyone already, and since he's so small, he's hard to kill. Most demons know him, I guess, and this select group should just be the bunch that thinks it might be handy to have him along. Y'know, for tight spots.

No, you need to come up with how all your characters have known each other for a while (Like over a month). Maybe they were all in a barfight and beat the shit out of each other, and then it become a weekly buddy thing. Maybe some of you were dealing demon crack to another when some of the other ones raided the place for money and demon crack (Remember, this is the demon world, evil is normal), then you all had a good laugh about it after trying to kill each other then went out to get drunk and kill something.

You aren't going to become a group with out knowing each other to try and get the Ruler title (Unless you are all idiots). Back stabbing is a common thing, most of you should have done it when buying some bread (Or the demon equlivant of bread). You would only allow some one you recently met into your quest to become the Ruler if you had a plan to get rid of them before they can get rid of you. With the previous relationships thing, you will still back stab each other (Or you should), but it won't be as obvious, as often, and/or nearly as early (Depending on the relationship).

They all came to me looking for blackmail information, as I am the best red yellow pages in the demon world, and saw that the rest were getting info from me, so they started trying to kill each other in order to keep the info all to themselves. When it was over, only one demon died, and the group went to a bar and got drunk and had a good laugh about the incident.

Carnaraska can be a bartender at the local bar who loves to start brawls, mainly because he gets paid extra for stopping brawls and he almost always wins because of his four arms and tail. He also does it for the thrill.

Elyss was at the bar at the time the brawl started and sat around taking no notice of them. That might have actually attracted attention at her. There was a kind of could ara around her, that no one really came around her. Her being female made them shy away more. One person actually came near her, but she had been prepared for that and her eyes lighted up, freezing the person in time. This gave her a chance to walk to another table and sit down with her drink. After the fight was over the other characters might have taken note of her and they had formed a sort of comrade shipp. She agreed with them, because she thought it might actually be fun.

Put a little more work into it? Alrighty, when the brawl started Azalekas was watching from a corner and he eventually got pulled into it. He was the one who dealt the killing blow to the one demon, by watching and predicting its tactics and then attacking it at the last second. And the group realized that Azalekas would be useful with his ability to find other demon's weaknesses, and Azalekas saw that everybody else would be useful in their own ways. And it has been that way ever since.

How is that? And it isn't some sort of natural ability or anything, its just him watching and learning.

Mephisto walked into the bar when he herd(sp?) the sounds of fighting. After the fight was over he had killed three demons and the building seemed about to collapse. When the idea of a group was proposed, he joined in the hope of getting to kill each these powerful demons.

Deus was just sitting at the bar, having a good time, slowly digesting sometthing, when he got dragged into the fight. Afterwards, he had two meals to work on. He joined this band of misfits since he seemed to be making out pretty well, and that was just one fight.

I'll just say Diablo was sleeping in there in a drunk stupor, was woken up, and got pretty pissed. Then he killed a few other demons, went back to sleep, and joined the group because he was bored.

The RP starts a couple days after the previous Ruler dies. Do you want to make your Ruler obtaining plans OOC before I make the first thread and start you off on your way, or choose your plans IC?

Note that this plan can basically be anything. As said before, you can just try and charge the castle and hope who ever is in there can't kill you. You can try and find some super powerful items to make yourselves invincible. You can ally yourself with some super powerful demon then try to kill him off later. And so forth. Your plans will most likely be from rumors and stories you hear, so even if you all agree to go get the SWORD OF INSTANT DOOM AND INVUNERABLITY that is just sitting in the middle of a very safe lake", it doesn't mean that your sources were true (Sword would probably be changed to "SWORD OF EVENTUAL DOOM and safe lake would turn into lake of lava with giant evil demon squids inside of it).
