Te best character from the best game. She was strong without being masculinized, emotional and tragic without being whiny, and she was a real heroine, even though she had doubts, like any real people.
She was the character that best conveyed the dualistic theme of FF6: love and hate, hope and tragedy, epic and personal.

Let me try to think of some "D" characters (ponders). I can think of Dracula (Castlevania), Drachma (Skies of Arcadia), Damian (Snowboard Kids), Dragonute (Shining Soul 2), and Mr. Domino (don't remember the game). Actually, yes, he did about as much damage as Cecil did in combat when I got him, and after a lot of leveling (after the point where he sees that one chick, Tellah's daughter) he was actually pretty handy.

Plus, he has one of the most memorable lines, along with Tellah, from FF4. I bet you could look up "Spoony Bard" on google and get like a million entries.

Atari, however, shoveled out a couple mil. for the E.T. name, and at the time of its creation, most of the better programmers had already left. The game SUCKED. :D

Oh I'm not defending the quality of the game, the game is without a doubt a craphole. But every list needs at least one entry that makes people who look on it later go "Why the fuck is ET there? What about Edgar?"
