It was during a game of D&D when the DM started banging his head on the table saying "its funny when it happens on 8 bit but not in my game!" I had to see what he was talking about through his sobs and tears!

This (http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=010311) was the first 8bT I read, way back before BC moved to Orlando . . .
I have no idea where I got the link from, now that I think of it. It was back when I read under two dozen comics . . . I think . . .
It wasn't VGCats, I got the link to there from here . . .
I doubt it was Cloud's Mystery Hour (anyone remember that?)
. . .
PA or PvP maybe?

I remember the first one I read was #8 or 9. It was just something a friend recommended to me in an IM, and if I want my friends to go look at whatever I want them to, that means I have to do the same for them. Luckily 8-bit theater is awesome, and I eagerly gobbled up new episodes up until around 300 or so. I think then I decided to wait a couple weeks in between reading instead of checking every day, so it wouldn't be so bad a wait. But then I started forgetting about it and only remembering every few months that I hadn't been keeping up with it. And since I forgot what had happened before I kept having to re-read the previou 30 or so panels, heh but I didn't mind.

I was reading through the computer games section of fiveminute.net, and 8-bit theater gets a brief mention in the fiver of Final Fantasy.
SimonBob: Okay, let's get one thing clear. This fiver is in no way related to 8-Bit Theatre, despite the fact that it uses the same content (ie. Final Fantasy for the Nintendo Entertainment System) for its humour.
Fighter: I like swords.
SimonBob: Just for that, none of you are in the fiver.
True, 'I like swords' wasn't the most unforgettable of quotes, but I was bored... and now here I am.

I saw the preloader in Chocobo robo voice and came here. Hooked ever since.
Sadly, it was exactly the same for me... I still love that song, I even managed to Download it somehwere...
I had heard about it throughout internet geekdom, and after a topic on rpg.net asking about webcomics had it listed by several members, I decided to check it out.
I also introduced it to my gaming group, but I don't think they got into it so much. :(

Back in the day, when I was part of a Halo modding clan, one of the guys read 8-bit. He quoted it sometimes. So... I asked him where all of his CrAzY jokes came from. He linked me here. It was around the part where they took out the Lich... I read through the archives in about a day, they were so good.

It should be pretty easy to find this place out by just searching for Final Fantasy on newgrounds.com. That is of course if your school doesn't block it and you are one who actually goes there from time to time.
Quite frankly, the animated series needs a Part 6. However, if you're lucky enough to search google every now and then... here's a screen cap for you.

A gaming pal of mine that I use to play Shadowrun with told me about it when I started talking about how much I loved the final fantasy series. He started quoting Fighter (admittedly, not the best character to quote when you want to impress someone... lol) and then talked about how BM was psychotic and trying to kill everyone else. I had to read it at that point!
That was about the middle of 2003, maybe early 2004. Since I started reading it, I've told everyone else I meet about it. It's spreading like a chucklarious (chuckle mixed with hillarious) virus among all my friends and family!
I only just as of the day of this post, just joined the forums... all that wasted time...

I found it while editing/reading Wikipedia. In the Red Mage article (now moved to an article about FF jobs in general) it said something like "Red Mage is also the name of a character in [[8-Bit Theater]]." I saw it several times before:
1. Clicked on the link, checked the external link to nuklearpower.com.
2. Check the website for a few minutes, never found the time to actually start reading the comic.
3. 2. several times
4. Read the first few episodes.
5. Saw the sentence mentioned earlier again, followed the links, started to actually read the comic.
6. Throughout a few days (since I would read them very late), I finally got up to the latest episode (they were entering the Castle of Ordeals).
7. I checked out the forums every now and then, but as soon as Red Mage got his Class Change (the episode where he is about to cast Hadoken), I read the forums regularly.

It was sheer boredom.
Seriously.
I started reading webcomics in general back when I had a data entry job, one of my first. I put the paper in the scanner, hit "Scan," and while it shifted through fifty pages of burn documents and other such useless government documents, I would alt-tab over to webcomics.
I actually started reading Bad Mushrooms - and liked it! - before VG Cats was formed. Oh yeah, let's hear it for seniority!
When I got all hooked onto the forums all those years ago - back when the people I looked up to (shiney and Lockeownzj00) still posted - 8Bit became crucial to my daily life, if only because of it's connection to NPF.

A friend of mine showed me one of the flash-videos made from the comic.
I got home and started looking for the other videos.
Googling 8-Bit Theater got me directly to this website and the rest is history.
And then after that I started telling all my friends about it.
I think my attraction to Nuklearpower was brought on by some other smelly individual with his own webcomic (http://www.cad-comic.com). And when said individual wouldn't stop expressing his extreme hate of Mr. Clevenger, I had to inspect the matter. Needless to say, I now know why he hates him so:D

Hi, I'm new, not only to the forum but to the comic as well.
I found 8-bit when I was looking for a webcomic to waste some time on. I started to read the first one and a few episodes later I was hooked. After a while I found the archive link and realized there were over 900 episodes! So I spent a few days reading them all and now I can't wait for the next ones. :)
I know the comic is based on a game but to be honest I haven't played many computergames and have probably never even seen the one this is based on. Still I find it very entertaining and that's what I think is so great about 8-bit. That and the fact that even with kinda limited facial expression and body-language the emotions in the comic still shines through. I admire that. Also the concept with 4 incompetent people that are supposed to save the world is very amusing.
So to make a long story short (to late?) I like 8-bit and will keep reading it.

Well, I was making a comic a while back, and I used what I thought was a joke originating from a mistranslation that I heard all over the internet. Namely, the "I casts the spells that makes the peoples fall down". Someone called me down for copying 8-Bit, and I've been checking for updates daily ever since.

My friends were reading it and I decided to check it out one day. It was the episode where RM fires the Hadoken (mimic'd from BM) for the first time. Hi there, I'm new here. [first post is GO!]
got into 8-bit when i was doing work experience, i was just browsing the internet and found a little megaman sprite comic, which led me to bob and george. (around the time george appeared in the megaman world)
Followed a link to many a website from bob and george, 8-bit, VGcats, Leasticoulddo, ctrl-alt-del...
And, i didn't think the voices in the animated ones fitted well, Fighters voice didn't sit well, thought that voice would suit BB more. BM and Theifs voices were good though.

I found 8-bit theater on Newgrounds, with a link to the comics at the end of one of the official flash cartoon. Being an old-school geek and passionate gamer, I found myself drawn to it more and more as I read through it, and I would now die in all possible ways if Brian found himself unable to continue the comics. :gonk:

I'm almost aghast that I haven't posted in this thread yet, seeing how 500+ others have already.
At the time me and my sister were re-living the nostalgic days of when we used to play Final Fantasy before the NES cartridge went up and missing (we've still yet to find it, but sister ordered a replacement, so it's all good). Searching Newgrounds, we came across the 8-Bit Theater flash and found it very amusing. At the end of the flash was a link, and that's how we found this site. It wasn't until months later that I found the forum.

Well, I was never one to read early Wirld War Comcibooks, as much to Brians chagrin, however, when I was referred here by a friend on another forum, (of which I am popular and VERY POWERFUL ahem) I found Brians 8 bit to be the one and only golden comic to be found. With a beautific mix of moronic notwittery, story plotline that SEVERELY deviated from the game one, but yet made up with the biffoonery and a cast that by now we all know and love, 8 bit is the Golden Standard from which I base all other comics off of. Im usually a very harsh critic on most comic threads, but Brians innovative use of plot devices and personality quirks have made 8 bit a lovable, if not laugh out loud performance that I have found just as funny from the first comic, to the very most recent one.
Personally, Im not very surprised that Brian came out for a Eisner Nomination. In my eyes, he might even give Marvel a run for their money, I sure as hell would like to see that.

I can't remember, probably the sprites...and the violent problems...and Thief...
My wife was searching for sprites for me one night and she bumped across the 8-bit Theatre... we both knew of it but only vaguely. She read about 100 pages (i was busy with other things) and she had laughed a lot. So finally, she talked me into reading it and I had read 950 pages by the end of that weekend. :D
It was the comedy, it was the FFness and it was the amazing sprites.

NPF was part of Top Web Comics. I was looking for Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger stuff. I stumbled upon Nuklear Power and saw a weird little Black Mage and a stupid Fighter talking in a forest. And I was like... O_o?
So I read a little and liked the comic. Then I saw the HUGE forum space. I found Captain SNES, Clanbob, and NPF that way before...

I remember watching 8-Bit D&D on Newgrounds several years ago for the first time. Then I discovered 8-Bit Theatre. They were on the same list of final fantasy flash videos that were among the most popular or something like that. I think one of my friends had shown me the 8-Bit flashes, several years ago. After that one of us discovered the site and told the other.
It's been awhile. I'm sure one of my friend's probably discovered the flash videos first and that's how I came to know about them. I don't regret it since the comic and flash episodes are entertaining and funny.

I am browing through the TV-tropes-wiki regulary, and they often mentioned 8-bit-theater. So, I like sprite comics, I like Final Fantasy, and I'm open to everything.
Of course, I had to read this.
And, men, WAS I amazed!^^
Exspecially the..well... interesting realationship between BM and WM got me stuck. XD (In the beginning, I was completly with White, because her hatred for BM's methods of fliting is completly reasonable, but I am more and more hopeing that he manages to win her heart... somehow XD)
I also love the in-depth, all the characters have. And Black Belt's monolouge when he died made me pretty sad.
OK, I better stop talking now, because I talk to much! ^^;

Well, I had gotten into the manga Naruto, and I was reading it online on Naruto Manga Returns at msn groups, and when I had read through the archives I started looking at other stuff in the group, and I came across a sprite comic. One of the episodes of that sprite comic attributed its inspiration to something called "8-Bit Theater". Out of curiousity, I clicked on the link it had, and it brought me here. I remember that the newest comic was the one where RM brought the group to a tavern. I went to the first comic, and over the next few days I read through the entire archives. I haven't stopped reading since. :p
I saw the chocobo song that had an homage to 8-bit in the beginning. Didn't think much of it.
I continued to do what I do normally for a year or two and then my wife and brother in law were talking about funny comics so I decided to read it... realized what it was and have read it ever since.

What drew me to 8BitTheater was that several years ago... like, 3 or 4, I was suddenly into making sprite comics myself, and I made several of them. I read them to myself and thought that the comics were really bland, so I googled the words "sprite comic" and looked around through the web and images tabs for some inspiration... and then there it was, a featured comic of 8BitTheater on the image search on the front page. I went and clicked it, read the comic, lmao'd, then browsed through the archives to read more, and then I was a quick fan of the series.
Then I promptly forgot about my own comics until several months later... when I finally deleted them. =D

A couple of years later, a friend of mine sends me an e-mail commenting on the funny comic he just found, and I was amazed to see that 8-bit theater was still running strong, and I've been following ever since.

I saw a page posted a forum I frequent, The Ordo Off Topicus, about a fortnight ago. It was Black Mage's explanation of how Lex Luthor was actually good, and I decided to check it out.
I'm dead glad I did.
I don't remember where I found this, but it was only like a month ago and I've read them all so far. So damn epic.

I was born only to read them....or someone told me about them like 4-5 years ago.

I ended up here, somehow, after reading Bob and George. The particular comic I happened to read was something sadistic involving Black Mage and Fighter, which I found funny. After finally catching up in the comics; this -> http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=65 made a lot more sense.

In 2005, I was surfing around vgcats.com when I found the link to 8-Bit. I've been reading it ever since that day.

Saw the first Flast Video on Newgrounds. Been following it off and on since Bikke.
Random RPG related Google searches. I think I started reading back in 2003. I found a 8-bit Dragon Warrior comic that linked me to 8BT. Fun times.

I was first introduced to it by a friend back when I was in High School, and I've been hooked ever since. I remember it was at about comic 350 when I first started and caught up through the archives. Now that the comic is nearing its end I need to go back and read through it all again so I can try to remember everything that has happened over the years. This will actually be the second online sprite comic that I will have seen to its conclusion, the first being "Bob and George".

Ao your the fabled Wife of Tacticslion eh? Awesome. Of course you could just be tacticslion pretending to be his wife by creating a new SN to fool us all! He is dastardly like that....
I kid I kid.
I found it randomly when It was at #10 and thought it was funny so I stuck around and read it since then. Awesome stuff.

Indeed! I, personally, never trust a word he says. ;)
Except, I suppose, like, all the time...
So, anyway, nice to meet you! :D
I'm up to comic #772 now ... He really wants me to finish before I see spoilers on these boards... I'm really enjoying the comic! It's quite an epic piece of hilarity!

Personally? I accidentally came across the flash animated versions on newgrounds. There was a link to nuklearpower.com in the title and ending screens.

I've heard about it quite a few times, usually in some relation to Ansem Retort. I heard 8-Bit Theater was much better (And it is), so I decided to start reading it, and I regret nothing.

It's pretty apparent that 8-Bit Theatre was a huge hit long before I learned of it a few weeks ago. What caused you to stumble on this awesome site?
My friend got me into it, we started reading it about ep 200-300 in and just kept going. We used to juggle chain flails and talk about 8bt while walking down the sidewalk and in parks, good times.

I first found out about 8bit when one of the "guest comics" was posted by the artist on DeviantArt, I clicked through the link to the NP page and have been reading it ever since. That was around comic number 300 or so. Can't quite remember. Been reading the forums since around the same time as well, and just decided to sign up today :D

I think I found out about it from reading other webcomics. Since every webcomic drawer seems to know all the others... Yes.
I just remember hearing that is was one of THE comics you have to read.

I started reading around when it was around #400 or so. I got a link from a messenger buddy and it was often linked in the forums I frequented.
I started from the begining and read through it until I needed to sleep so I bookmarked and started again when I got up.

VGcats brought me here, if I remember correctly. They had some kind of reference to 8-bit theater, and when I found out it was only about FF, it was instant love.

Browsed periodically prior to 2003 but it wasn't until watching the flashes on newgrounds that I really read more of the comic and since then I have, but at times wouldn't just so there would be more to read when I got back to it. Joined the forums in late '08 on the supposed ending to the comic but decided to hang around a little bit longer.
