Between Black Mage and Other (for Ranger), I am torn. Yes, I know that they are two very different characters and that Ranger's appearance was brief and minor. Yet I still love them both.

Dude, you cannot have 8-Bit Theatre without Fighter. He's just too awesome for the rest of the group that they want to kill him. I mean, well, he's essentially identical to me. My "friends" constantly threaten me with death, I normally say stuff that is just non-sensical 99% of the time, but in that last percent I say something shockingly brilliant or just plain awesome, I talk in strange speak, I come up with idiotic ideas and plans (But there's always that brilliant factor.), etc. The only thing is, Fighter isn't maniacal. I think it would be awesome if he was more maniacal. Anyway, even though I doubt what I've said has convinced you at all, Fighter is the best.

Thief and EPS. The characters are all awesome, but out of the main 6 (the dark warriors are too imbecilic to even come close to those really), BM is too mean (on top of having no sense of repartee), WM is too nice, RM and Fighter are just stupid, and BB just likes to beat people to the ground. Thief is subtle, charismatic, and just plain awesome. I mean, how many people can steal the gold off the walls? AND Thief is an elf, which is self-explanatory.
EPS is machinating, actually smart, evil but not in a thoroughly bad, frightening, clinically insane way like BM, has good views on things, and has ultimate fighting skill. None of the heroes could have single-handedly destroyed a giant! AND EPS is a girl, which is self-explanatory.

1) He represents everything you'd except in your typical warrior/tanker, right down to the affinity for swords. Course', I'm probally bias because I always play a warrior/tanker in games when given the option to do so.

Yeah fighter is easily the best playable character in the game. You can get through the entire game with a party of all fighters. In fact I just had 3 fighters and a red mage because the life spell is a lot of fun.

Black Mage is my personal favorit. Mostly because he's my favorit type of character. He's obviously got a huge amount of power within him, so he breaks the rules of society, but noone wants to associate with him.

I Black Mage is my favorite for two reasons.

1) He can send forth a wave of destruction equivalent to a hydrogen bomb that creates apocolyptic doom and destruction.

2) He's openly evil. In reality, all the light warriors are evil. Fighter himself admits it in episode 551. If all the Light Warriors "murder their way to the top," then at least Black Mage is honest about his motives.

How to choose amongst the mighty heroes of 8-Bit Theatre? Tis a task that boggles the mind and the imagination. Who amongst them stands head and shoulders above the rest? I say..none. Yes, none! Each has his own appeal. Each has his own strenghts and weaknesses. Whether that be...Overwhelming destructive might, unequeal stealth and nefarious skills, access to the very fabric that shapes their existence, an indestructable form and a tireless blade, or the cool soothing of healing.

There's also all the other ones, but hey. I didn't feel like coming up with materials and stuff for them.

By the way, I'm sure we'll all agree on the Evil to Good Descending (or Ascending, depending on your point of view) order.

:bmage: is the obvious choice I would think, he's better than RM because all RM does it think up plans that don't work, unless he includes common sense into them, he only casted 2 spells out of the entire comic. Black Mage is the only one of the LW that is immune to Thief's contracts because when he was the ruler of hell he made them not effect him. He could easily destroy all of them except Fighter. He is the smartest one of the LW, this is proven if you look closer to what he does, he is also the hardest to trick. His only problems are that he can't STOP being evil and destructive, he's too power hungry, and he won't use weaker spells at all. :bmage: is the best all around except for taking hits, and if you completely obliterate your opponents then you don't have to worry about that. So I chose :bmage: and :fighter: . Without Fighter BM wouldn't be half so funny (I only mentioned things that other people didn't mention, the whole evil thing is kinda obvious). It wouldn't be nearly as funny without all of them but BM and Fighter have to be the best IMO

OK. Here is my theory as relating to the characters and what we see of Brian around the site. This is probably the best place for it, as I am very unlikely to get into trouble over what I put her should I offend the great guy known as Brian. Ya hear that? GREAT GUY. Who puts my favorite web comic, online, for free. Now how awesome is that?

White Mage - This is the Brian that posts on the news section (you know, the bit that goes under old comics). Example: The Burned Cat Hoax. Only a nice guy would have pointed this out (before it was known as a hoax).
Black Mage - It's probably just me, but the forum Brian is a little bit more malevolent than he appears on the news section. I don't have evidence, so sue me.
Thief + Red Mage - No clue, but would like to hear theories.
Fighter - Well, we can all be idiot savants sometimes, so I think this is it for that character.

So far we've got: Brian is a nice guy who has a little of the healthy BM in him, and he can be stupid at times. Just like all of us.

Alright, I went with BM because...... Well, BOATDOKEN! for one, and the fact that he has no morals, he's the only character in the whole comic that recognizes Thief for the clever sob that he is, he can't get a girl...Or a break. Definitely Fighter. Just to show even "special" people have their moments... or something. Although I dislike Fighter because he let me down when I was playing FF1 on my GBA. I had a team of all Fighters (which worked... for a while) and I figured it was worth a shot. Unfortunately, once I got to Chaos (SPOILER: who is really GARLAND) and started the battle, things weren't looking too good. I couldn't heal my Fighters as fast as Chaos could cast spells.

Wow, I have to agree with that, Fighter puts up with a lot of physical trauma, he had a cupboard fall on him once! He almost died! But yet! HE LIVES!! And he has put up with BM's continuous attacks upon him, and he is STILL alive. SO yeah, Fighter does deserve our respect as fighting machine! :fighter:

Hello I'm new here, though I've read the comic for quite a while now.

Anyway my favorite character is Black Mage, he's evil, violent, likes to blow stuff up, likes to make things(and people) burst into flames, and he likes to stab people repeatedly.

Besides whenever he dies he becomes the most poweful being in 8-Bit theater except for maybe Sarda, Brian obviously doesn't count since he's the author & not an actual character.

Yeah Kary is awesome she was a much better villain than Lich, of course my view is biased since I really liked Black Mage Ruller of Hell.
