I always called him "Rockman", because I lived in Japan at the time... But I haven't been able to discern much of a difference between them.

im not sure myself but if i recall correctly, megaman and x are 2 different characters made by the same guy (light)
protoman is protoman and i think zero is a different dude
i think there's a character in the X series, prometheus.. he looks just like proto man, with a scarf around his neck. i think he's proto man from the megaman series.. just that he survived
hey sakae!
rockman too? heheheh i've played a lot of rockman, including hacked ones (it's supposed to be a darkwing duck game, but they put in rockman.. quite cute, watching rockman say "I AM THE TERRR THAT FLAPS IN THE NIGHT!" ehhehe)

I'm pretty sure the name conflict is from translating the game to Japanese, than back to English. I call it the "Babelfish Syndrome".

Haha. That was awesome.
I think Bohemian Rhapsody was voted the best song of all time somewhere. I read it on yahoo news.
As it should be. Truly, it is a great song.

The thing I like about it is that it is a truly original song. You listen to it, you really can't trace any musical influences in it. It really is unique in that sense, and that's why I love the song. (Also why I like Outkast. I'm normally not into rap, but, c'mon. OutKast. How can you not like them?)

Don't know, I'm only half-japanese.
Not I
My theory is that he is a data file, represented on my television as an electronic sprite character. He thinks I can't see him, but I can.....And soon, vengeance shall be mine...

Prometheus wasn't in the X series, he was just in Bob and George.
Proto Man was the first android built by Light, upon which all the other robots were based. He had a little bit more free will than Light was comfortable with a robot having (due to his fear that they would break the Three Laws) so he ended up leaving shortly after he was built.
Shortly after, Light built Rock, a robotic lab assistant, and Roll, a robotic housekeeper. Then, with the help of Dr. Wily, he built six industrial robots: Cuts Man, Fire Man, Ice Man, Guts Man, Bomb Man and Elec Man. These six robots were promptly re-programmed by Dr. Wily to be his tools for world domination, which forced Light to convert Rock into a fighting robot, renaming him Mega Man.
After defeating Dr. Wily umpteen times, Dr. Light decided to build his next-generation robot, with a design similar to Mega Man's but with numerous upgrades, and with a highly advanced AI system that would allow the robot, which he simply called "X", to think and make decisions for itself, becoming fully sentient. Again, Light was afraid of a fully sentient robot becoming a threat, so he locked it into a capsule for thirty years so that his ethical subroutines could be fully tested.
Unfortunately, at some point during that thirty years something happened that caused the capsule to be lost, remaining sealed for an additional seventy years until it was rediscovered by Dr. Cain, who re-activated X, reverse-engineered him, and began producing a line of robots (known as "reploids") based on his design. However, these robots hadn't had X's extensive testing, and didn't always do what they were told. This led to the creation of the Maverick Hunters, a group of robots tasked with hunting down rogue reploids and destroying them. This group was led by Sigma until he himself went maverick. X is also a member of this group, and his battles with Sigma constitute the core plot of the Mega Man X series.
Now, to back up a little bit, while Dr. Light was working on X, Wily was working on a next-generation robot of his own, called Zero. Zero also had a highly advanced AI, and carried a virus that would cause nearly any robot infected with it to go nuts and start killing people. Shortly before the first X game, Zero fought Sigma which resulted in this virus being transmitted to the leader of the Maverick Hunters, causing him to go berserk. Zero then allied himself with X, from which point on he proceeded to get blown up and rebuilt repeatedly. It's also quite probablt that Zero was respolsible for the deaths of Dr. Light and the rest of the original Mega Man cast.

I saw that a while ago.
...
I liked it so I'll watch it again! I've always liked Queen and megaman, so the combination is perfect.

I think ive read this somewhere on a megaman website. i havent played all the x series yet (ive only played up to X3... wish i could get my hands on the newer ones) but it does piss me off that zero gets blown up every once in a while. i've tried a demo version of X5, where you get to play as zero wholly (i think), i think its much better to play with both options in hand, compared to X3 (where u can only switch once with zero)
will we get to see a megaman concert?

You can't download shockwave/flash/whatever files directly from the source by right clicking.
However!
You can go into your Temporary Internet Files folder, search the name of the shockwave file and PRESTO! You've got your movie.
I found that out while I was finding a way to download one of those animated voice 8 Bit Theater things on newgrounds.

Can't you right-click on the link and "Save as"? I'm not sure, but it should work.

good stuff. although when Bass is playing the guitar, he's moving his hand in the wrong direction (you go 'down' on the neck to make the guitar higher pitched). but ill give it props for the headbanging part.

I remember back in the day reading a book called Megaman 2, which was obviously based on the game of the same name. It was some kids book, I don't really remember specifics. Anyway, that book had some kind of Pinocchio rip-off story about Dr. Light turning Megaman into a 'real boy'. So accroding to that, he was a robot and then became a guy. I think that Megaman X is a different story than the original Megaman games.
