I just remembered, you never answered a question.
How much of the original group's memory is gone? Is the entire area around killing the goddess fighting (Getting there, fighting her, killing her, leaving), or is the entire part of killing her just gone? Or some other thing?
Darth SS
07-26-2004, 10:48 PM
Actually, I did answer that.
But we remember everything. Except the closer we get to the goddess fight, the fuzzier our memory gets, and we can't remember the fight at all. There's just a blank in our memory, followed by us waking up in a field.

So... did the group of heroes seperate and go their seperate ways after the unmemorable battle? Since... maybe the amnesia was a lot worse earlier, but we have regained memories of our travels over the years.... maybe... I dunno... ^^;;
IHateMakingNames

I think it's our choice as to what the group did afterwards, at least your one member. Some of the members could have continued traveling together for two years, or one could have tried to steal everything from the rest of the group then ran away, or the group could have just split up at some point for various reasons.
CelesJessa
07-27-2004, 12:40 AM
So... what is everyone else going to decide? I think I'm going to go with my idea earlier for my character:
maybe the amnesia was a lot worse earlier, but we have regained memories of our travels over the years....
It makes sense. When they come out of something with a bunch of people and don't remember what the heck just happened, they will probably all go their own seperate ways (making it easier for us to control our character's bios and such) Then over the course of two years, they slowly start remembering the events of what happened, up until the final battle.
Does that sound good?

Someone who shall remain unnamed (Your secret is safe with me, Celes!) suggested I post this both here and in the sign up thread. So, y'know, everyone who needs to know does, and its not overlooked by accident.

That really doesn't work because SS said our characters were famous for killing the goddess, but it's died down over the years (And it only having been 2 years, it must have been early that the game started). Obviously, some one must have had some memories of everything that was going on (Besides the final battle).

But I don't know what else to do. It's hard to control what happened between 2 years in an RP if your characters have had contact...
Edit: And Demon, I told you before, but so it's known by all, SS would have the last say in newly joining people.

It's only 3 characters that we have to worry about (Kal, Guy, and Celes). The rest we can say just left because they got bored, and had to do something by themselves, or died, or something else.

Okay. So, any ideas for what Kal, Guy, and Celes did in the two years before the current RP?
IHateMakingNames
07-27-2004, 12:58 AM
Just think of what your character would have done. Like for Guy, he would have tried getting into Celes' pants for a month or two. After most likely failing, he'd get bored/depressed and leave to go back to his home city and win some tournaments and get rich off of that and being famous for killing an evil goddess.
CelesJessa
07-27-2004, 01:01 AM
Alright. Then Celes probably went back home, now that she is famous, even though she still can't summon, she still is a powerful mage living back home. Or traveling like she was at the begining of the first Axiom.
EDIT: woo. you can tell how blonde I am tonight. I didn't even notice you guys were looking for me on the last thread. ^^;; I have a clarinet sectional tomorrow so I was busy with stuff and not really totally paying attention.

Just something I'd like to run past here. Stoneskin spell. Operating thusly: invincibility to physical attacks until character has been hit x times (in Lucian's case, we'll say 12). Each hit cracks the stone until it breaks away... but the hits have to be hard enough that they would cause more than an irritation to the character without stoneskin. (So, a small child hitting the back of his leg isn't going to take off a layer, but an adult hitting him in the chest would, despite a punch to the chest not being a 'life threatening' attack, it's still strong enough that it would have hurt Lucian normally).
Also, Magic Cloak, which just slows all attacks that attempt to push through it, thus reducing their kinetic energy... aka their power.
Just want to know whether it'd be kosher to use either of those. Oh, and Magic Cloak affects magic by dampening it's power, but Stoneskin has no effect on magic at all.
Edit: Almost forgot, stoneskin is user only, but magic cloak can be used to defend other characters. Other utility spells he has are things like 'sharpen' which make weapons magically sharper, enlarge, which makes items bigger, shrink, which makes items smaller (those three spells can't be cast at something wielded by another person, for overpowering reasons. Let's just explain it as the latent magical energy stopping it), fly (for casting on others), stuff like that. Normal utility magey spells.
Attack spells are things like lightning bolts, streams of magical fire, magic missiles, you know... the common fare.
Edit: I ask about the stoneskin, because, on the one hand, limited physical invulnerability is kinda moddy, but, on the other... not having it makes him useless unless he can hide behind people, which isn't his style. He's a faerie, most people use iron or steel. Iron and steel burn him. He's also not very sturdy... and it's only 12 shots, and he'd probably go down on the one after that.

Sorry, I had some last-day band stuff to take care of. They are just being held in this room, since chains wouldn't be able to stop a mage from doing what they do best-cast magic. Instead they are locked in this surreal, gross room, and no doors are visable to us.

Hmm, discussion is made, RP is started and five pages in...
Perfect timing as usual!
Name: Dezil Eternion
Race: Human
Age: 24
Height and weight: Umm... 6 foot 2 inches, and... 220 pounds? I'm not very good with preportions...
Class: Mechanical Engineer
Physical Description: A fairly big man, Dezil can almost always be seen wearing his work gear, which is composed of a thick gray longcoat, with the insides of the coat lined with pockets full of tools. Under his coat, he wears plain black pants, and a white shirt. His hair is brown, and an uncontrolled mess on his head. His face is covered in a thick layer of stubble, and overall he has a somewhat eccentric appearance.
Bio: Raised in one of the more technoligically advanced cities on the continent, Dezil has always been fascinated and interested in machines. As he grew up, he would always buy tool kits and broken devices whenever he got the chance, and made more money by selling the devices he fixed. As soon as he was old enough, he took the money he had saved up, said goodbye to his parents, and headed out. He has been wandering ever since; seeing the world, making a living on his gadgets, and always tinkering and writing up plans to make something better.
So if I'm still in this, what's going on right this second?

Dante, don't you see something wrong with all of the mages having been taken away in a portal, then the fighters are somewhere else, and your guy is with the fighters casting spells?
Dante
07-28-2004, 10:20 PM
My guy knows no attack magic. His spells are basically there to enhance what he can already do. I was talking to SS this afternoon - "Anyone with magic as a PRIMARY form of action" gets snatched. My guy doesn;t need Haste or anything to do his job - but it certainly makes it easier. A red mage without his heals and attck spells is basically just a fighter, but Talan without magic is a slower and less effective Talan.
I don't really consider enhancing yourself with Haste to be a primary form of action. God knows he needs it to keep up with the godliness of you guys.
(And I'm also abusing my acting DM powers in a non-intrusive way, so nyah!)

07-29-2004, 12:09 PM
And remember that I posted a set ammount of guys to beat-down.
Hell, Muktar alone has probably taken down half-of them. And just as a future notice about the cultists...
They're very underhanded. If they lunge towards you, they don't swing their swords. They flip out, hack wildly, kick you in the shins, and start chewing on your face. It's not a matter of doing the properly trained way for them, it's get from point A to point B. Point B is usually a dead you.
So...for the moment...pooey. I'll clean that battle off, and set you guys up to continue, and then I most likely have to leave.

Don't do it man.
In the last RP, IHMN spooked her in her sleep, and she screamed. Kal and Thomas then preceeded to bust into her room. Kal threw his dagger (Narrowly missing) and Thomas tackled Guy, ending with his sword at Guy's throat. Celes had also made a fireball she was going to use on him.

I'm guessing there are supposed to be just enough rooms so everyone has to pair off? If so, either some one is alone since we have 13, or it works because we have 14 (I'm not sure on the numbers).
Edit - Also, what exactly did Jad mean by "take advantage of me while unconcious"?

They're magic rooms. So, yes. Everyone pairs off.

I think just about anyone but Lucian would have been a better choice... she's slightly better than him, as that he would have corrected your terminology by noting that he is, in fact, a sociopath, and then sent off another spell. However, only those two would actually attack you for trying to share the room.
Also, if we HAVE to pair off, Guy would probably be best for Lucian. He's not the type that would talk much, and thus he's not the type that would irritate Lucian.
