Does anyone here know how to make a cool pattern?

1. Arts and Crafts. Don't worry; a mod will be along to move this thread there, so don't bother opening up another thread(it only makes people angry).

2. Well, what do you mean by "cool pattern"? I can think of plenty of "cool pattern"s and half of 'em, I don't even ned Photoshop for. I can just use MS Paint. Be more specific, please.

Otaku_Son, don't be such a jackass... :D ^_^ ^_+

I think by cool pattern, he means a cool background or wallpaper. If you mean that, just do something abstract. I find that using Liquify and Blurring is very helpful when I'm bored and want a new wallpaper...but I'm hardly a pro at Photoshop. -_-

That's an effect, not a pattern. Most patterns are either: A) Random or B) repetetive.

good patterns are hard to come by, believe you me.

You Can make your own patterns by selecting the rectangular marquee tool and holding alt to keep it a uniform square. select an area you want to make a pattern out of and then go to Edit> Define pattern. You can choose to name it if you'd like, after that select the paintbucket. In the tool bar there'll be a drop box that says Foreground. CLick that and choose pattern. The drop box next to it will have your handy new pattern ready and waiting.

Oh and otaku, your definition of pattern is too general. You combined Assymetrical pattern and symmetrical pattern into one. quite a world of difference. :D
