This is great, now there is one more thing out there that wants to steal my soul. (http://gamesdomain.yahoo.com/preview/31937) The customization is amazing, and the graphics are just sick. Check out the “exclusive” video. I... must... resist.

Acolyte: I gotta say, I was ridiculously tempted at first... but unless the game gets amazing reviews, I really think I'm going to stay away. City of Heroes is still compelling and looks to stay that way, and if I REALLY need a fantasy MMORPG, I think World of Warcraft will do it.
And god, my Everquest days, way back when were so terrible. :P

Yeah well I personally would want to play WoW over EQ2 anyway. Although if there were enough hours in the day...
On a side note:
I wish there was a way to try out a MMORPG before you shell out $100, cause I want to play one but have no idea what in the heck to play.

I tried to sign up for the beta, but the reccomended a freekin gig of RAM.
I think the customization thing is a new direction, but I just get a severe sense of meh.

I was a hardcore EQer since release. I quit not long after Verant left EQ. SoE is just a crap company and they let that game go to the birds. Awful GMing, poorly designed expansions with shoddy content, extremely unbalanced releases that ruined old world content. Judging by their track record, I wouldn't touch EQ2. SoE is so desperate to regain their rapidly depleting customer base, they're giving free access to all expired accounts and crap, trying to get people to play again. I just think EQ2 will be a gigantic rinse/repeat of everything after Shadows of Luclin. Blegh.

EVILNess: Well, you DO get a full free month with almost all MMORPGs... but if you end up disliking it you're paying the $50 (or so) for only a month's worth of play.
City of Heroes is always a good MMORPG to start with. ;)
