there are in almost every place a bunch of dead threads shouldent they be erased to save on bandwith?

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure its only a waste if people access them.

I asked shiney about this once during one of our IM conversations. Mainly, people may want to reference back to something said in old threads, or other people may want to read them(as apparent by the fact that newbies are practitioners of Thread Necromancy). Not to mention the mods have more important things to do than go through deleting various old threads.

Don't worry, secretskull, I personally thought the same thing you did.

Yeah, we don't care enough to delete them. If they're closed for page limit, then it's so they don't go retarded usually. If another thread is opened, it's imagined it would be on topic. If it goes off, we close it. But we don't bother with deletions.

I enjoy going through the banned list and reading what stupid people did. 90% of those threads were closed.
