Today, Nov 11th was my great uncle's funeral, he was in his 80s, and served as a soldier of war for a great length of time before he came home to Australia.

That comic helped make the day easier.

There's my comic. The conversion from bitmap to jpeg didn't do too good, but I don't see any other way I can do it. MS Paint won't let me convert it to gif like I'd've preferred, and Imaging doesn't seem to know what a gif file is.

EDIT: Imaging doesn't recognize .png files either. Damn. But it does recognize .tif files. I wonder what those are? Well, if they're better to convert to from bitmaps than .jpegs are, I'll resave the comic as a .tif and link to that in the comic thread instead. If it's as clear as I hope it is, then I'll feel confident about providing AB's sprite sheet without it looking garbled, discolored, and several other things. I'll plop it on down next to my first comic and anywhere else someone wants it to be.

2nd Edit: Ahh, the file as a .tif looks as good as the bitmap does! That r0xx0rz my b0xx0rz! As soon as I can get back to imageshack, I'll replace the .jpeg comic with the new .tif one and get the sprite sheet up. It's a lot of different sprites but I know there's still others I need, like the chocobo by itself and facing forward and backward when AB is riding it. Look forward to it!

3rd Edit: Damnit, I can't find where everyone is posting their sprite sheets, if they are at all. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough but I'm damn sure I looked everywhere.

I really want to make an edited sprite for AB, not just a recolored one, in addition to giving her some style and clothes changes, and make some effects and learn how to properly search for scenery. Hopefully, it'll only be a week or two before I try to make more comics.

A tip with resizing sprites. When resizing sprites, use "Image > Stretch/Skew..." (CTRL+W) and type in absolute values. 300% or 400% are pretty standard. 200% if they're gonna be really small. ;)

Except with more swearing, and a bit of a pre-interruption, like:

Anything basically. ^^ If you want to play it safe, go for things that contain chocolate. If it hasn't resolved itself by now.

... as is WA's for a first one. Seeing as Chicago already told you about resizing, just one other tip: never save a sprite comic as .jpg. In most cases it ends up looking blurry or even has jpg-artifacts, making it blocky (well... the other kind of blocky). I recommend .gif or .png.

The main comics do feel I have to comment on, however, are SAAM's last three ones. Dude, I'm sorry, but I can't find that funny. Not just because I didn't go near the outback when I was camping (rather I actually went camping in a forest), but I also wouldn't have a guide, especially without knowing who s/he would be. You at least were correct on my distaste of Steve Irwin. I'm still very sorry, it's just... yeah.

There's a few of us Australians that do the same thing. Just replace "Australia" with "Emu", "Wilderness" with "Farm", put both of them in the same set of quote marks, and you'll hear "CRIKEY!" for a good five minutes from those few. XD

I already have a good idea for my next comic, but I'll be needing QueenQeeko's sprites. I know where to get those. I just need her permission. I'll also need some special effects sprites related to MagiTek Armor from Final Fantasy VI, which I think I can find easily enough by Googlin' that up. Oh, this will be good! ...And good practice on usage of special effects.

Well, my third comic is out. I'm surprised that even though it took so long to get around to it, it's still on the same page as my second comic. You guys're slacking off! Just kidding. Oh, you'll notice that the panels are misshapen and stuff. That's because when I completed the original, it was too big to have imageshack host it so I had to clip out some of the space.

I don't remember exactly, but I mostly did a combination search of Final Fantasy 6, sprite, image, special effect, battle, combat...you know, all that nonsense.

EDIT: Oh, you meant to get that sexy little picture I used in my comic. I strictly wanted a sexy image of that particular girl. Her name is Kei and she hails from the anime called Dirty Pair Flash, which in spite of the name is a regular anime and not a hentai. I just typed "Dirty Pair Flash Images" and eventually found that sight as I was checking pages.

EDIT: Yes, I have a new comic which I presented even though I did a comic yesterday! Aren't motivated sprite comic authors grand?

Anyways, the comic is more like two separate mini-comics, with the first comic taking up the top three panels and the second one taking up the bottom three panels. They were intended, in the beginning, to be full-blown comics in their own right, but I just didn't see a reason to make the comic in the top panels to be worth making a full comic about. As for the bottom one, it probably would have been a full comic using the actual Magitek Armor special effect sprites I required, but since those didn't arrive and I didn't wanna keep people waiting, I made it without the effect sprites. And since I didn't have the effect sprites, I didn't need the extra panels to show them off so I managed to make that into a half comic as well. And thus I stuck the two half comics together and you get double the laughter and double the fun. Voila. (bows)

I'll replace it with Advanced Magitek, everyone on these forums needs some sort of weapon or power. QQ rules Hell, Stephanos has low-level magic and a Darksaber, and I have a complete and utter mastery of magic*. You deserve some sort of mech-armor, it's just that Ride Armor wasn't really appropriate for a FFVI sprite.

I'll replace it with Advanced Magitek, everyone on these forums needs some sort of weapon or power. QQ rules Hell, Stephanos has low-level magic and a Darksaber, and I have a complete and utter mastery of magic*. You deserve some sort of mech-armor, it's just that Ride Armor wasn't really appropriate for a FFVI sprites.

Ahem. I only rule Hell as the new Chaos over on the SOoO forum, DB, and htat was because of Stephanos' comic deeming it so... I doubt that many here were aware of that, so I'd assume that in the (un)Holy realm of NPF that the original Chaos is still in charge.
