Eleven Moons

This RP takes place at the end of the Renaissance era in the bustling city of Venice. Behind the mask of the happy aristocratic society lives a devilish game of houses. The mechanics of treachery, debauchery, murder, and crime churn in the dark corners of the city of rivers.

Below all this hides an even darker maze of secrets. Da Vinci's Illuminati dabblings uncovered things not meant for mortals to know. Knowledge of what lies beyond the veil of mortal conscience has been breached and now these nightmares swim in the murky depths of the canals.

How long can the city sustain itself this way? Eventually the truth must surface to the public and then hell will break lose on the world about it. Be prepared.

Seth Ormani stumbled through the halls of the library and finally found the door. Grumbling he fumbled with the ornate ring and pulled the door open. A bright shaft of light streamed through into the dusty refuge, slicing through the shadows. Spectacular, simply spectacular. Another night tossed away at the library. The curse of the scholar I suppose.

He walked out into the square. What little mist hadn't burned off yet swirled about his feet as he walked over to the fountain and pulled out a copper from his blue velvet jacket. He smiled and tossed it into the waters.

As soon as he turned and left, two or three beggars scurried out and plunged after the coin. A particularly surly one, all in rags emerged triumphant with the coin. Filth

Elizabeth Lafayette kept her arms crossed as she walked up towards the man and watched the beggars fight for the coin. She was wearing a beggar's cloak just as the other had in order to hide her identity. The hood was up, covering her face by a shadow. "Here's a quesiton to ponder.... Can a wish really come true, if the source is stolen and used for other needs?" She was quite bored and looked to this new place for some entertainment.

Seth grumbled and gave his jacket a futile tug, attempting to smooth out the fabric before composing himself and turning to her with a hollow smile. "And what exactly would you have me do about it? I'm not about to shoot them over some silly wish. Anyway, in this town the coin is about as ephemeral as the wish I made with it. I only wanted a damned cup of tea anyway." He finished, his smile turning to a disappointed frown.

"Arthur never opens the shop before noon-time, so I suppose it'll have to stay as a wish."

[usa-ko]

She paused for a moment and shook her head laughing. "A cup of tea? You can not be serious... of all the things to wish for. World peace, rid of disease, rid of corruption... the perfect utopia... and you wish for a cup of tea. Someone seems to have his priorities out of check." She walked closer to the fountain and sat on the stone wall of it. She stuck her hand in the water and started to swirl it a bit...

[Rhuhael]

Seth smirked and walked up behind her. He leaned in close and whispered in her ear, as if to impart something of great importance."And it seems that you have no knowledge of exactly how many disease ridden beggars have gone swimming for coin in that fountain in the last hour."

He patted her shoulder gently, smiling far too and then began walking down a side street. "Welcome to Venice m'lady."

She looks into the water and raises a brow. She quickly wipes her hands on her cloak and starts running towards Seth. "Wait! You've yet to tell me your name!" She stops before she gets to close to him. "Venice... Venice, Italy? Is that where you said i am?"

[Rhuhael]

He smirked and then turned back to her. "My name is Seth Ormani, and yes I said that you're in Venice, Italy. Although I find it hard to swallow that you don't know the name of the current center of the country. It's practically the only reason anyone from the outside comes here anymore."

[usa-ko]

She smiled "Well, sir, I've been many places." She walks closer to him and looks up into his eyes, pulling her hood back. She reaches her hand up to his lips and taps her finger on his bottom lip, she then giggles and runs away, back into the dark alley... with his coin purse.

[Rhuhael]

Seth smiled and ran after her. He reached, calmly under his coat and pulled out a long stiletto blade. He balanced it on his fingertips for a moment and then flicked it at his coing purse which she was holding.

The glittering gold and silver fell to the ground, clattering all over the cobblestones. Seth laughed and walked up to the pile of gold and silver. "Going without even saying good-bye eh?"

She backed away slowly with the remains of his coin purse in her hand. "I... need to .... go..." She took off running again through the front streets now. She rested by a tiny shop that had not yet opened.

[Rhuhael]

Seth knelt down to gather up the gold on the ground. There was only one piece that really mattered and that wasn't in the bag, but old habits were hard to break. He then continued down the road after her. "Poor thing, I probably should just have called her on the purse theft." He sighed to himself.

[usa-ko]

She was crouched down by the door when she could hear Seth's footsteps coming towards her. She looked down in her hand wondering why he wouldn't leave her alone... she saw that she had a coin in her hand. She knew she wasn't fast enough to run from him. She decided to take the coin and stick it behind I lose brick in the wall by the ground. She then took off, knowing that even if caught, he couldn't hurt her without evidence and she could go back to the coin when it was safe.

[Rhuhael]

Great, you go to apologize to our lady friend for scaring her and she runs off again. Oh well, I suppose I need the exercise anyway. He took off after her at a brisk pace. She didn't know the streets well in all likelihood, she didn't even realize she'd stopped in front of Arthur's shop which is where he was headed anyway. But he did need that coin back, so let the chase begin I suppose. "Lady! Gypsy! Whatever you call yourself! Stop! I'm not going to hurt you!"

[usa-ko]

She stopped dead in her tracks and turned around. She crossed her arms and glared at him. "Blonde hair, light skin... what makes you think I'm a gypsy?" She was not scared now, yet angered.

[Rhuhael]

Seth came to a sudden stop in front of her suddenly as she turned around, trying desperately not to run into her. "I really have no idea m'lady. But, it seemed to have the desired effect. You did stop."

[usa-ko]

She steped back a bit, feeling uneasy having someone so close to her. "Well, I don't know why you're chasing me. You got your money back... I have nothing else. Please, just let me be on my way and I will never bother you agian."

[Rhuhael]

He smiled, "I'm not about to rob you. You're poor, you targeted someone who you thought that was just a rich fool. I don't blame you really, I'm not in the best of condition. However I was wondering if you'd help me locate a very unique coin that was in that purse. It seems to have disappeared. I searched about and accosted several people, however it does not seem to be there. I thought you might have taken it. You can have the rest of the coins, I just need that one."

[usa-ko]

"Tell me something... even if i did have this special coin, why would i so willingly give it up to you? It obviously is worth something since you just said i could have the other coins if i gave it to you." She smiled and turned her back towards him. "Yet, I do not posses this coin... it's not in my hands..." She then started to walk off again, happy with herself...

[Rhuhael]

"Because it could cause you unspeakable misfortune and pain." Seth said solemnly. "You have no idea what that coin is or what some people would do to get it. They could make you disappear without a trace and no one would know the difference. Who exactly do you think pays the authorities?"

[usa-ko]

.... She paused and though for a moment. She then turned around and walked towards him again. "I don't believe such a thing... " She smiled and reached her hand up to his cheeck. "unless you think meeting you would count as misfortune," She then quckly put her hood back on and ran off into the allys. She weaved her path so that she couldn't be followed.

[Rhuhael]

Seth sighed and walked into the Arthurs shop. He was gonna need more than a good book to fix this problem.

~Meanwhile~
There was no movement in the sewers, no sound except the constant dripping of the water on the walls. Algae had covered the walls that were not completely filled with the waters of the marsh. The water rippled slightly as something passed beneath the surface, black reticulated scales glisetning in what light was available.

A rat fell through a grate from above as Catherine swam over. The watter rippled swiftly and suddenly there was a horrendous crunch. The water stained itself a deep crimson and the rat was no more.

[usa-ko]

She stopped as she heard a huge crunch sound. She thought to herself for a moment and to try and decide what it might be, but her curiosity got that best of her, and she decided to go down. She tried lifting the lid which took most of her streignth and set it aside. She then made her way down to the sewer. She couldn't see anything, so she took a match from her cloaks inside pocket and lit it. She screamed with horror as she saw the red water around her.

Seth spun around and immediately sprinted towards her the scream. Dammit, I told that girl but she was too good to listen but no she's too good to listen to the snotty noble of course!

As he came up on the grate he came to a skittering stop and peered down at the crimson waters. Shit "Are you alright?!"

Catherine felt a cold, steel brush against her calf as Seth's visage became visible above her. The surface rippled for a moment and a long, draconic body of blackened steel could be seen. The very sight chilled her to the bone.

She couldn't speak.... and she didn't know if she wanted to. Thoughts ran through her head... could whatever this thing is see or hear her? Maybe if she holds perfectly still, it won't really notice her. She quickly glanced up towards Seth with fear in her eyes. She decided to speak... "Whatever this thing is... get rid of it..."
