View Full Version : Calvinball XXIII: Lord of the Rendirs--The Slightly Above Average Towers

Jadarendir
10-14-2004, 04:58 PM
...and he stared, awestruck by the miraculous event that had just happened before him.

Jadarendir, greatest Demon of his time, newborn angel in the 21st age, yet again reborn Demangiel, and mortal of present, was powerless against his foe. He trembled and fell to his knees, dropping his swords. Then he fell back, unconscious.

“Jadarendir!” SAAM shouted. “Stand! Fight, fool!”

But it was no use, for the warrior had fallen to the most deadly type of curse; that of the NaGoqui book, chapter 5, verse three.

And when the black clouds break and Heaven is gone, Hell shall attack once the mighty has fall’n.

And he had. Jadarendir, with all his mighty Demon strength, was reduced to mortality, and then was ended.

DragonsBane stood back, wondrous. Jada’s familiar red glow had faded, and even his great wings were limp. As SAAM checked his pulse, his face went white with shock. He let loose a scream to the sky, preparing to express his sorrow the only way he knew how: vengeance.

As he and Dragonsbane turned to face their foe, they realized that they had seen him before.

You cannot hide… I see you… There is no life in the void… only… DEATH.

The horrified SAAM saw a villain in black armour, plated with human skulls and bones. Behind the armour was none other than BobII, the villain of old.

“Ye God,” SAAM mumbled. “He has come to finish his task. He has killed the Lord of the Rendirs, and wishes to possess the world of Calvinball.”

“We cannot face BobII alone,” DragonsBane said to SAAM. “We must find help. Send for the Thunder Dragoon, send for BobII’s predecessor.”

“BobI is dead. And if not, he is far beyond reach. None have seen him for ages.”

“This does not change our present situation. We must flee!”

SAAM glanced one last time at Jadarendir’s limp body, then turned and ran, following DragonsBane.

“Lead the way, Bane.”

-----------------------------------------------

Word spread quickly of Jadarendir’s demise. The armies of SAAM and Jadarendir were, of course, the first to know, and it wasn’t long before the Thunder Dragoons found out. Toastburner learned through DragonsBane, and Argent, Lord of Silver, was told by the birds who had eavesdropped when Druid of the Dead was told.

Some rejoiced in this news, but many were grievous; Jada was an enemy of some and a friend of many. Even Phoenix Flame, who had fought him once, was saddened by this tragic news, more so by the fact that she would never have another duel with him than the fact that he was gone.

The only news that spread quicker was the news of BobII’s return. Since his defeat at the slopes of Mount Me, none had spoken his name. Not even SAAM, one of the most powerful beings alive. BobII was a curse, it was said; a curse that was impossible to lift. Young children were told stories of the ancient and terrible overlord, told that he would come back to haunt them if they didn’t do as they were told.

So when a Slightly Above Average Man ran over the hills and into cities, shouting to all the people the terrible news, there was much unrest. Everyone knew who SAAM was, and they never doubted a word he said. This was as serious as he predicted, as far as they were concerned.

When the attacks started, all were unprepared, but none were surprised.

((Who's BobII?))
Argent appears in Dragonsbane's fortress, wearing a massive suit of protactive armor and weilding a wicked-looking 7-foot runesword. "I understand that we have a problem. I am willing to help, provided that you trust me enough to help you."

Royalspork heard SAAMs cries, as does his mentor HoP.

They both walk out of the house, and look to see what has happened. They both were too young to know of bob 2 (unless bob 2 is from some of the new generation of calvinball and I missed it). But they knew that if SAAM felt it was bad then it must be.

HoP pointed to a wall to hide behind and he went behind it, RS followed.

Across the land, in a quiet bar, a lone figure loomed in the corner, slowly drinking his mead. Tired from the exploit of his never ending quest, he considered the whole purpose of the game. No, he thought. It is all aobut the game.

A soldier burst through the door, sweating and panting heavily.
"Great sirs!" he cried. Everyone, everything, stopped and looked at the soldier. "I seek the great and notorius combatant, Thunder Dragoon!"

The dark figure, none other than TD rose from his corner.
"It's time again, isn't it?" he asked the soldier.
The soldier gulped. "Yes, my lord."
The patrons started mumbling amongst themselves.
"Lord SAAM and DB request your assistance at once! Jada has risen from the ashes, and seeks cold hearted revenge and victory!"
"Say no more!" TD yelled. He rushed toward the exit gathering his things.
His mighty Flamberge, his trusted electric spear, his gleaming armor, his ravishing red cape and his greedy green guantlents.
"To the battle field!" he cried!

Druid heard the news of the approaching war. This....BobII.....his name eluded Druid. He needed more information. He grabbed the essentials. His caltrops, scrolls, and his new staff made from a dragon's bone.

He stepped out into the halls and awakened his army. No one had invaded his crypt in a long time and it was about time they served a usefull purpose.

He stepped into a side room. This room contained his most powerful creation yet and he was going to need it. This room held Lazorne the Dracolich. This war would bring much death which pleased Druid but he understood the necessity of life and couldn't allow it to be completely extinguished.

He turned to his scrying mirror. He was going to need more information on this BobII.....

"If you can't be trusted, then we all die." Dragonsbane responded, turning away from his scrying crystal to face Argent, "I don't think you are as self centered as that...very well, then. All help is welcome in these dark times." he shook the silver warrior's hand, then continued, "We must gather the others...you have your weapons, and I have mine, so there is no cause for delay."

Even as he spoke, his staff shot from the wall it had been leaning against into his hand, and his sword was already sheathed at his side, "It is time..."

Saiyaman1822 felt the ominous power coming toward him like a shock wave. Knowing the situation must be bad (as normally Saiyaman can't sense a super-villan from 2 feet away), he grabbed his armor and katana and ran to the assist.

"I have only heard rumors of this .. BobII. I must be on my guard, as I do not know what awaits."

Running as fast he could, he made his way to Dragonsbane's fortress, where he would lay in wait. Waiting for the right moment to help the heros in their struggle. (OOC: Or when I get online again tonight :D )

He rode his horse swift like a eagle carrying a beaver. The soldier, moreso a messenger, was talking to him all the time.
"It seems that Jada is not the least of our concer's, my lord!" the soldier yelled, for the air currents were picking up.
"Not the least of our concerns...what do you mean, my friend?" TD asks with a worried expression.
"Tales surface of an regrowing evil, one that was said to have been banished on the great, fiery cavern of Mount Me. It is BobII."
TD immediately reared his horse.
"BobII.... it has been awhile since I've seen that one..." TD reminensced. "We once or twice allied with each other, for personal gain, none other....."
"Sir?" the soldier shaked. "You KNOW BobII?"
"Aye..." was all TD could say.
After half a year, it had been such a long time since TD had returned to this world. The world with laws, matter and concetrated energy. It had been too long.
"Onward! My allies in the east call for help. We must recruit the elementals first!" TD smirked, and sped off with great haste.

OOC: >>> This <<< (http://forum.nuklearpower.com/showthread.php?t=3009&page=3&highlight=calvinball) is the original Lord of the Rendirs thread. Read through it to the end to see who BobII is, or what the whole deal is, etc., etc.

IC:

Indeed, BobII knew TD. He knew him well, and knew all his old secrets. The dragoons were deadly afraid of the tyrant, and those who had never heard his name before severely underestimated him, even if they feared the worst.

His armies had grown as well. Millions upon millions of Bobs poured over the side of Mount Me, approaching Bobadur, the secret fortress of BobII. Where he had been plotting his revenge for many years, now. Since the sixth age he had waited to strike out when he was as powerful as any warrior in the Calvinfield. That time was now. No man or woman could fight him alone.

He and his armies moved quickly west, ravaging small villages and large towns, finally coming within 500 yards of HoP...

Dragonsbane set off, riding across the fields and through the forests, using his Weedkiller +12 on the animate trees that attacked him. His phantom steed galloped onward, as he sought to gather an army to oppose the evil of BobII

Dragonsbane had not ridden far before he was cut off by the Minirendirs.

Druid looked at his mirror. This BobII was a vary complex being. Druid was no musician but he understood that BobII possessed formidable power.

He turned and opened a portal to France where the dreaded Mount Me was located. "Great" he muttered "I have to put up with BobII and the French.....ugh......"

He led his army through the portal into France. The Dracolich taking up the rear.

People fled from the sight. The military came to block them off, but Druid and the Dracolich projected a fear aura that caused them all to drop their guns and flee. Druid climbed on top of the Dracolich and led his army north toward Mount Me.

With a loud bang and a flash, CheshireThief appeared in front of Druid. "Hello. I am CheshireThief, master of all things Bardic, master of Thievery, and weilder of the legendary Plot Device. I've come to offer you my assistance." A guitar was strapped to the bard's back.

In the fields, not far from where Dragonsbane and the minirendirs met, oxygen was being sucked into a vacuum that suddenly appeared. As the vacuum was filled, there was not a massive thunderclap to signify the sudden change of the environment, but there was a thunderous pop that was heard for many football fields beyond, as an orange rock fell from the 'vacuum'.

Oh, but this was no ordinary rock. This rock radiated specialness. Beyond the scopes of those who once thought they were special. This rock radiated such a special aura, unknown to the people, that people even far away could acknowledge it, even if it was but a small twinge. The law of funny stuff told that this rock could create much chaos, even bring an end to this world..

..but for now, it sat. Like a good little rock. But who knows for how long?

The soldier had long departed, returning to his kingdom back in Ireland. TD raced across the countryside, gathering the elemental Dragoons.
There were seven in all.
Thunder-the original (need I say more?)
Fire- weilder of the holy flame and master blacksmith
Water- gentle priest, with the power to revive those long gone
Earth- a barbarian druid with the power to crush his opponents with elementals and his fists
Air- swift rouge with dazzling speed that outmatched any of his opponents
Light/Holy- great paladin from the far eastern lands of Siberia, honning his impressive skills as a swordsman and healer
Darkness- assasin with a black soul, held only in line by the others.

After a days worth of traveling, the Dragoons were reunited and we're ready in full force.
"Our new destination is....France my friends. An evil land, filled with poverty, corupt governments and evil demonic beings. Our quest lies there. Onwards!" and with that, the seven elemental companions rode off toward destiny and villany.

Suddenly, as the minirendirs made their offer to Dragonsbane, Saiyaman1822 stepped out from the crowd.

"I have followed this army here and I have found you. I do not know how BobII has regained his power, but I stand ready to fight this oppressor of old. I may not know BobII or what he can do, but on the other hand, he does not know me."
"I will join your band of heros and your armies, if you would have me fight at your side."

In a dark tower across the sea, a messenger rushed up a long, winding staircase to the uppermost chamber. He threw open the door, and collapsed in the doorway, exhausted. He spoke but once before falling unconscious: "BobII."

In the center of the chamber was a large black throne made of iron. There sat an armored man cloaked in crimson. The man spoke. "BobII. Perhaps it is time for me to step in." He rose with a creak of armored limbs and approached a large dresser in the corner. The dresser opened with a hiss at its master's approach. The man removed his steel mask and withdrew from the dresser a thin black piece of cloth with two holes. He then tied the cloth to his head in such a way that the two holes were positioned on his eyes.

Next, the master of the tower approached a monstrous wooden chest next to the dresser. Within lay various swords, shields, guns, and other methods of destruction. He took from this chest a white, head-sized sphere made of leather. The cloaked man walked towards the stairs and paused in the doorway.

"Time for some Calvinball."

As he took his first step, he tripped over his messenger's inert form and tumbled, screaming, down the stone steps. By the time he reached the bottom, he had long since lost consciousness. His last thought before succumbing to the darkness was "I shouldn't have removed my helmet."

Dragonsbane

Dragonsbane nodded solemnly, "Your valor is unquestioned, and your offer of fealty is gladly accepted. We shall avenge your master, and make BobII pay in blood!" The army cheered, and the archmage grinned. The war had just begun.

IC- HoP tells RS of when not to fight. they both moved up a building to overlook the battlefeild.
High mutters "they are of one mind, they will complete their mission and will not be side tracked by peasant. that is why they are getting rid of them now." Highonpawns smiled then said "But we can slow them with a psuedo counter offencive"

HoP turns to his pupil "can you cast pawn storm?"
the pupil replied "No"
"what about sac?"
"No"
*sigh* "blunder?"
"YES!"
"then I will cast pawn storm and you will cast blunder"
they cast their spells and a small army of pawns and a queen come out. As they mount their horses (knights) they see the queen taking out 5 bobs and then falling. HoP and RS ride away.

Druid looked to the bard intrigued.

"Its not often a bard can look a Dracolich in the eyes and not run in fear. Your offer is accepted young one."

Druid looked over and spied a horse. He chanted and the horse ran toward them.

"Care for a steed?"

CheshireThief laughed. "You obviously haven't seen the extent of what bards can do." He concentrated for about 3 seconds and then began humming a tune called 'Selo's Accelerando'. Insantly, he and Druid could move at more than twice the speed their horses could. He grinned. "Little trick I picked up playing Everquest." He started humming again as soon as he was done speaking. "But I guess I should ride, as not to get tired before anything starts..." He looked around. "Find me a horse, friend." He shot one of his grins, which were known to make even the coldest female heart melt into a thick, gooey paste.

Arhra chooses that instant to emerge from the trees. This time he chooses to clad himself in the form of an elf, for what epic quest does not have an elf? Especially one with a bow. Besides, no one ever suspects the elf. It is time for him to put the first step of his plan into action.

He speaks in a clear tenor tone, "I too come to aid in the battle against the dark lord BobII. There may be a way to defeat him utterly by casting the Calvinball into Mount Me. The energy the Calvinball would release when cast into the fiery pit would be enormous and surely could be channeled to our use."

In the dark world of cyberspace he remained there meditating, somewhere between google and e-bay he floated. His afro glowed with the green energy of cyberspace. He floated back and forth resisting the gravital forces of the two major websites.

Suddenly his eyes opened wide. "I sense a disturbance in the force, BobII has awaken."

He reached and grabbed his trusty demonic sword (see the New Picture thread, for actual pictures of it and me) from its floating location at his side and his brown cloak appeared over him. He blinked and disappeared reappearing in front of Cheshire Theif and Druid of the Dead. He turned to CT "You have sensed it also?" he asked his long time friend.

Toastburner B
10-15-2004, 10:04 AM
Upon hearing of the death of Jadarendir and the return of BobII....

...Toastburner still had no idea what was going on.

Hence, he stopped playing Shadow Hearts to travel to the great Library of Public, and checked the history of the Lord of the Rendirs. And he did read the history of the first battle against BobII in the battle of Mount Me in the forsaken lands of France.

Toastburner read...and became awfully worried. A foe who could multiply himself countless times was not to be laughed at.

So, Toastburner prepared. He summoned the sister-ships of the mighty Respawner XVII, the Respawner XV and the Respawner XVI. He commissioned the building of a vast force of robots, based on the Leafblower-Killer Power Armor. A vast force of Leafblower-Killer Bots (LKBs) were made, each as powerful as the original LPA Mark I, which waged war against the smilies. Then, he commanded the building of a wing of small, automated aircraft. Thus was built the Flying-Leafblower Bots (FLB), small, leafblower-sized and shaped aircraft that carried missiles and a chain gun.

For himself, Toastburner created the LPA Mark III. Created with the experience of past calvinball games behind it. In the face of a large army, it had taken from the original LPA. It was brimming with weapons, most of which were automated. Toastburner had only to think to unleash a salvo of killing power onto the field. Combined with his newly aquired weapon, Death's Sycthe (Death had gotten very attached to the rail-gun Toastburner had given him in trade for the reaper), Toastburner was more powerful than ever.

Yet...will it be enough, Toastburner thought to himself.

Either way, I have no choice..

"Let's move out." Toastburner commanded his automated troops.

With a swing of the reaper, Toastburner created a rift to where the armies of the Calvinballers were forming. Leading his force of LKBs and FLBs through. He saluted DragonsBane and the others.

"Sorry I'm late," Toastburner said, "I had to put in a few extra hours at work to be able to pay for all these guys." Toastburner pointed to his army.

"DruidoftheDead, ChesireThief, and h4x.m3g4 are rallying their forces. highonpawn's army is already engaged against the Enemy. We must hasten to his aide if we wish him to survive the conflict."

"How do you know that?" Argent Lord asked.

"'Tis simple. I have three giantic spacecraft to support us in the coming battle, my good sir. And of course they have kick-butt sensors." Toastburner answered, and a semi-English accent.

DragonsBane raised an eyebrow. "Toastburner, why are you talking like that?"

Toastburner shrugged. "It seems appropriate in the current situtation, my lord. Having someone with a horrible English accent is always funny. Shame I couldn't put a monocule on my power armor. But, it was not to be. Anyways, shall we go?"

Yet, in the back of his mind, Toastburner was worried. Where is the calvinball? he thought to himself. And what will become of us if BobII claims it again? Or an I just being stupid and he has the ball already? Why am I still having this inner dialoge? How come I can't spell? Did I leave the iron on? I'm hungry. I wish I had a bag of gummi be-

Toastburner broke out of his thoughts when someone answered.

CheshireThief
10-15-2004, 11:46 AM
Nodding to h4x.m4g3, CheshireThief grinned. "I know the situation is grim, but I don't think we have anything to worry about." He held up a small contraption that was attached to his glove. "I am now the weilder of the legendary Plot Device. If you've ever read a lot of books or seen a lot of movies, you should know how much power the Plot Device has. We may not be able to justify a reason why things just happened, other than that they had to so the outcome could be what we wanted it." He grinned and hopped on his horse. He turned and looked at Druid. "I've been practicing a lot, lately. I think that my bardic skills may have surpassed my thieving skills... Nevertheless, we need to gather up more forces. Not to put down your zombies, or anything, but if we hope to take on BobII, we're going to need a lot more firepower..." He smiled again and gestured to the guitar on his back. "And if it comes to a duel, I have this handy."

To the mighty wail of the SlightlyAboveAverageAnthum, the Army of SAAMs and their leader, the Lord of the Cheetoes crested the hill and approached the Minirendir's and Dragonsbane.

"By the power of the two GM's, we will help you defeat this enemy." SAAM vowed.

Thaumaturge
10-15-2004, 12:31 PM
The air near Dragonsbane ripped asunder, sending arcs of jagged lightning to earth themselves where they could. A bright light shone from the rent, nearly blinding those nearby. Suddenly both light and rent collapsed in on themselves, revealing Thaumaturge standing in their place.

"Greetings and Salutations." He said. "So, BobII as appeared. I have read of his depredations in the past, of his weilding of the One Strat, and of his defeat on the slopes of Mount Me. It is time that he is stopped once and for all."

Dragonsbane
10-15-2004, 01:03 PM
"Indubitably." Dragonsbane responded, "We must be cautious, for the land of France is a dangerous place...and to simply march our armies in there is to doom ourselves to painful and humiliating death against the Bob-hordes. We must find out how he has returned, then find a way to destroy him...until then, we need a place to camp. A big city with lots of food, women, and drink would be nice."

Suddenly, a great and hideous shriek was heard...sending fear into the hearts of those who heard it, a quiver of instinctual terror. In the clouded sky, a dark form could barely be seen swooping overhead.

"No....it is one of Bob's minions, one of the servants he corrupted with a Nine Badgers." DB looked away, a troubled expression on his face, "It will not attack with this many present...but it will do its best to demoralize the troops."

He raised his hand, crimson lightnings crackling from the palm and fingers as a bolt of power shot forth...striking the winged creature the Navy-Blue Rider was riding. A lump of charred flesh that had once been a winged creature fell into a swamp nearby, and Dragonsbane smiled slightly, "The Rider won't be unhorsed for long...but this should keep it from causing so much trouble."

Thaumaturge
10-15-2004, 01:32 PM
Thaumaturge watched the Rider fall. "In that case, we should be moving. There appears to be a small village over there... it's not a city, but it should do the trick until we can find one. I wonder why the locals are looking at us and licking their lips? Perhaps it's some sort of local greeting!"

"Cripes, man! It's just like in the first village in Shadow Hearts! You go in, thinking it's all nice and safe, then, bam! Everyone in the town is a flesh-eating demon!"

Toastburner sighed, and spoke in his normal voice. "Okay, the accent is beinging to annoy even me now. As to whether we should go to the village or not...meh. It's only a bunch of townspeople, we can take 'em...unless they are a bunch of flesh-eating demons, in which case you guys and your armies will be eaten alive while me and my bots stroll merrily from their midsts because my bots aren't flesh, and I'm in a few inches of high-tech super alloy which they could never chew through. Toastburner summons 5 LKBs to come forward. "I'll be right back."

Toastburner takes his bots and travels into the town. All the townsfolk eye him.

"Greetings, I am Toastburner, part of the great alliance to stop BobII and his army of darkness. My fellows and I seek shelter, and seeing as you all were eyeing us and licking your lips, it was decided that I come down and see if you were flesh-eating demons or...not..."

Toastburner is confused as the townspeople come forward and start to eat this five LBKs.

With that battle-cry, Saiyaman1822 lept into the fight to try and save the robots. One of the metal-eating demons spotted Saiyaman coming and turned to fight. Saiyaman swung at it with all his might, but the demon just took a bite out of his katana.
"Hey!!!" Sayiaman lept back out of the battle
"Now I have to use my spare katana. You'll pay for that"
Saiyaman pulled out another katana.
"Can't use swords. Arrows won't work and the robots are helpless. All that's left is magic and hand-to-hand combat. Guess I'll do my part."
Thus, Saiyaman1822 lept in and started punching the metal-eaters around with only moderate effect.

IC- HoP and RS come down from their horses in a large valley/forest, the trees cover up most of what is going on. as they get closer they meet AiP, the roman pawn, and the army.

hundreds of peices and roman leigons move into order at the site of their lord.
HoP speaks to AiP "We need to march, a large army of bobs have attacked the country side. The calvin ball is most likely his target. Are there any signs off the other calvin ballers?"

AiP responded "They have all moved out of their lands, most likely they know the threat you speak of"

HoP signed and said "Alas, I can not come in contact with them. And with the vast movement of bobs, our messenger will surely be cut down." then added, "But we can not stay here in this forest. Troops! Begin to march"

In a orderly fasion, the army began marching. The generals got on their horses and moved to the front.

OOC- I think I have a larger army army than most of you guys, cause I got roman leigons.

So...your army will either be small, or inneffectual.

I'm probably not bringing my army into this, they aren't exactly nice people.:p

Arhra glances up at him, "Perhaps we should get rid of the demons first unless you usually leave living enemies behind you?" And with that he pulls out his elven bow and shoots at one of the demons with elf-style marksmanship. The arrow just clanks off and the demon eats the arrowhead. "Oh for the love of Chaos, just die! Stupid elven bows..." He chucks the bow aside and conjures a ball of entropic energy that he hurls into their midst, throwing their mangled bodies everywhere. He adds, "We must be wary for this is but the first of the horrors we will encounter in the perilous and terrible land of France. But first we must aid against the seige of Thinas Mirith!" as the others begin to finish off the demons.

The Dragoons made their way to France,as they quickly summoned and rode upon mighty dragons to ride upon. The air about them darkened, and lightning crashed about them. They swerve and dipped and the air broke clear after a while.
"There it is..." TD looked. "The land.... of France!"
A dark, bearen land off demonic beings loomed below them.
"Reminds my alot of Mount Me..." FD said.
"Curses.... why did such a hell hole arise. Even the escapade against Darth Bill was more cheerful than this!" HD mumbled.
They swooped around the Eiffel tower, now pitted as a crater with a deadly tower, stone tower in it's place. Their dragons cried in fear and beckoned for their masters to stay away.
"What's wrong with them, WD?" ED asked.
"Look out!" AD cried.
Catapulted orcs flew in their direction from all sides. To their surprises the orcs suddenly sprutted wings!
"Crap!" BD cried "Hybred orcs! Draw swords, and let the games begin!"
"NO!" TD said sternly. "We shall not engage! This is obviously one of Bob's towers. We shall flee and locate SAAM and DB at once!"
They flew off, yet the orcs persisted.
WD started to chant, and clouds started gathering, clapping and struck at their enemies. More came on, though.
"So much for a simple escape plan..." ED mumbled.

When his friend asked the question, CT smiled and pressed a button on the Device. "By sheer act of Plot Device, friend. Plot Device." He then noticed that his 2 friends didn't know each other. "This is Druid of the Dead, a necromancer of sorts. Very nice guy, for a sack of bones." He winked. "And this is Hack Mage. A sort of weird guy. Does lots of codes..." He laughed a bit. "I sure hope we get attacked by a tribe of beautiful Amazons. That would put my charm abilities to the test..." The Plot Device beeped, and suddenly, a huge army of Amazonian Beauties was charging the trio. "Stand aside, Zombie Army! Let me do the work!" With that, CT rode his horse out, and played a soft melody on his guitar. The Amazonians all dropped their weapons and looked at CT with big eyes. They all kneeled in front of him. He sent a message through the air to Druid and Hack. "Looks like I just gathered my concubine.... err.... army!"

I am an aspect of Chaos after all, it will be simple to corrupt them into chaos spawn." He pulls out an arrow and grips the arrow head firmly with one hand, working magic. He removes his hand from the razor sharp arrow head unscathed but the arrow is now covered in strange runes. "Thank you every much," Toastburner muttered as he tried to rub the soot from his armor. "Greatly appricate it."

It was then that Toastburner saw ChesireThief and company. Toastburner stopped, rubbed his chin for a second, and pulled out a large piece of paper from a pocket in his armor.

Havoc rained upon the tower. Blood flooded the grass and bodies littered out of the windows. The wizard had been defeated, but the Dragoons were battered as well.
"We are in no condition to take on Bob!" WD panted.
The seven companions panted heavily.
"TD...." ED gasped "We need to summon the mini-dragoons. We MUST!"
TD shook his head.
"That my friend...." he started "Is a skill I have long lost. The rest of you were the full extent of my magical powers, the height of my spiritual powers. Unless one of you were sacrified, the mini-dragoons shall be no more."
They looked at their mutilated dragons.
"They should be sent back to their magical plane, to heal their wounds." WD inquired. The others quickly nodded.
So they struck out on foot, the seven dragoon companions journied on toward DB and whomever was with him. They loomed closer, to finding the where abouts of Bob. And where they could find, the magical ball of long forgotten legends.

The hiccupping spider scuttled up his robes and onto his shoulder, while the rest of the spiders awaited his commands. Having learnt from the Raiders of the Lost Lark and the affair with the Death Ball station, each spider was now equipped with a tiny gas mask and a tiny, many-legged fire-proof suit. They were ready to go, their bites ready to turn their victims green with purple spots, and leaving them itching furiously.

At least it gives me my first recruit." He pulls out his bow and with one smooth action nocks it and fires the special magical arrow he had created before at it. The winged beast falls from the sky with a screech, impacting nearby. Its rider is nowhere to be seen, "Does anyone know how they do that by the way?" says Arhra, "It might be a nice trick to learn. Oh, don't finish the mount off by the way." Arhra says the last to one of Chesire Thief's amazons. The beast thrashes around, its hide a sickly shade before it suddenly and horribly mutates, turning into a weird multi-headed, many winged horror with mases of tentacles. "One in my army and just a few hundred more to go." Arhra says happily as he climbs on the thing's back and rides it as if it was just a normal horse. His spiders would be of little use here, but he could still be of assistance... He began to casta spell, evoking shards of silver, then imbueing each with magical energy similar to a magic missile. That done, he gathered the enchanted shards together to float lightly above one hand, binding it there for now. Then casted a shield spell, and finally a flight spell, soaring towards the Rider. As he neared it, he released the binding on the ball of shards, sending them hurtling, shotgun-style, towards the fell beast, then turned tightly to veer away from the Rider.

Faster than light, the orc with it's sword raised soon found 14 fresh cuts across it's belly. It cluched at it's stomach and fell to the ground, very still. TD looked up towards the black rider, only to find it summoning orcs to his side. TD ran forwards, into the host or orcs and burst into action against the orcs, faster than the speed of light. The dark rider laughed and continued to summon orcs through his black portal. He realized TD would soon tire.
TD jumped back and put his wrists together, and chanted quickly. A bright line burst from his hands and he screamed "Thunder-doken!"
The field was quickly cleared of most of the orcs, while the rest squeeled like pigs and ran off. TD panted heavily, as the rider dismounted it's dragon and approached him.

Dragonsbane had unleashed a Hadoken into the orc hordes, blasting a few square miles of them into oblivion, when he heard a familiar voice, "Holy crap...Jada? What did they DO to you?!"

TD's orcs gave Toastburner enough time to put his LKBs into formation. The front line had their chain-guns ready, while those behind prepared their missiles and motars. Hundreds of FLBs circled overhead, preparing to attack.

Toastburner, standing in front, watched as his troops readied. He was about to order the advance, when TD unleashed an amazing magic attack, followed by Dragonsbane clearing the field.

Toastburner sighed. "I never get to have any fun."

Toastburner looked over at the two, intending to give them a piece of his mind, when he saw a Navy Blue rider, weapons upraised, over TD, with Dragonsbane looking shocked about something.

Which was awfully disquiting, has Toastburner had never seen Dragonsbane shocked about anything. The rider had it's back to Toastburner.

Big mistake. Toastburner thought.

With a jet boost, Toastburner leapt over to them, Death's sycthe upraised. He didn't know how tough these riders were, but he doubted it could take the blow Toastburner was about to lay on it. Toastburner prepared to swing as he neared the ground and the rider.

With an unseethable of anger penting up inside of him, Td slowly rose into the air, yelling and roaring about the tremendous loss. Light shone about him, and everyone on the field felt a surge of energy. After a moment, Td lowered back to the ground with an eerie glow about him. He touched down, with his arms crossed, and the others looked at him in awe, and the orcs in confusion.
"It's play time." he smiled.
With a snap of the fingers, he began to divide repeatedly. His full power had come back! The army of TD's grew, with unsurmountable energy and launched into battle.
BobII did not stand a chance.

Jadarendir
10-18-2004, 09:24 PM
In his present form, BobII indeed stood no chance. But he had one more secret weapon: a fusion.

BobII himself leaped over all the opposing soldiers and landed in front of the Black Rider formerly known as Jadarendir. He grabbed him by the throat, and Jada gradually disappeared. Once it was finished, their strengths had become one, and behind the nightmarish armour of BobII himself, Jadarendir screamed with the pain of a hundred thousand lifetimes.

As the others stared at the now towering monster, they realized that BobII was now the most powerful being in the known universe. The only way to stop him was to separate him from Jada, and as was the case with the Calvinball, this was impossible to do and spare Jada's life.

Another choice was dealt to the players.

But as much as they wished otherwise, they knew what Jada would have them do.

Arhra
10-18-2004, 11:56 PM
Arhra, despite the great threat, turns his attention upon BobII's army. It would be pointless to think that somehow the numberless hordes of orcs would not interefere while they fought BobII. Riding upon his chaos steed he casts aside the elven form had had been using and stands clad in something closer to his true form. He is glorioius and terrible to behold, his form completely hidden behind bladed armour of ancient and ornate make. A tattered cloak of twisting energy forged from shattered planes is his only adornment and his face is hidden behind an inhumanly calm steel mask. One hand twined in the tentacular mane of one of his mount's heads he cries out, "Chaos that is change!" and he channels some of his energy into the chaos beast he rides. The creature that had once served as the mount of one of the Navy-blue Riders opens its jaws impossibly wide and it breathes forth opalescent beams of power.

The beams strike into the midst of the teeming orcs but they do not destroy. Instead they subvert. The orcs give cries of pain as the chaos magic sweeps over them, obliterating their old memories and rebirthing them in a form more pleasing to Arhra. They are warped into spawn of chaos, in some cases several being fused together to create greater creatures. The remainder of the orcs can't help but quail before the mutant horde that cries out songs to the glory of Chaos. Some of the mutants can even breathe forth pure chaos, corrupting more to Arhra's cause while other spawn more creatures.

Arhra fashions a blade of pure entropy with his magic and he points it towards the monstrous figure of BobII. Glutted with power from Chaos' ascendancy he cries, "Death!" and his steed swoops to the attack.

OOC: Behold the glory that is Chaos, blah, blah, blah.

BobII then gave word for the trolls to come out of hiding. From the other side of a nearby hillside, 100 000 000 trolls charged toward the armies, firing exploding arrows at the Chaos soldiers. Instantly, hundreds were incinerated.

The trolls reached the front lines, and fought twice as hard as the orcs. BobII laughed as he watched the armies of the Calvinballers shatter, one soldier at a time.

Thaumaturge
10-19-2004, 08:06 AM
Thaumaturge watched the trolls arrive in consternation. His spiders would be of little use against them... he began to fashion a new spell, bringing a thick fog to blanket the field. He then cast a spell of magical vision on himself, each entity on the field lighting up by mage-sight, their lights not dimmed by the fog. BobII was a towering mass of shadow black and blood crimson, with flames raging at his core. Arhra was ever-shifting, never the same for two consecutive moments. Dragonsbane was red-gold, power radiating from the mage, cold blue shock still evident. TD was iron-grey determination, Druid was the shade of eternal rest, laced with purple lines of power. Toastburner was blue-white shocked surprise. The orcs were crimson with hate, while the trolls were flames of mingled animal fury and hate.

Thaumaturge headed through the mist towards the trolls, and when he was close enough, began to cast Meteor, calling tons of burning rock down on the trolls, before perparing to repeat the process, as draining as it would be...

In the midst of the raging battlefield, a rumbling was heard.

This was no ordinary rumble, either. Neither a normal rockslide or even an earthquake could surpass the noise of the fighting warriors of the Calvinballers and the BobII army, from their battle cries to their death cries - not to mention the snazzy special sound effects made by their weapons.

However, this rumbling deafened even that, and soon it came to be evident that this rumbling signaled something big.

And it was something big indeed, for far from the battlefield, a field of volcanos came to existance behind the forces of the armies of BobII - where they couldn't possibly belong.

A field of erupting volcanoes, spewing rocks as large as the mouth of the volcano, and sometimes even larger. Flaming boulders rained down from behind the forces of BobII, and if the armies of the Calvinballers weren't careful, they too got a taste of fire.

Of course, trolls didn't exactly like fire.

Toastburner watched as BobII's army was strenghted by the 100,000,000 trolls.

Time to play the trump card. Toastburner thought to himself. He opened a line of communication to the Respawner ships above.

"I need an orbital bombardment. Patch into FLB 1-2-5 for targeting information. Also, send in the reserves."

Without waiting for a reply, Toastburner took direct control over one of the FLB drones. He flew it high, above the range of the orcs or trolls attacks. Turning on the laser targeting system, he targeted the rear of BobII's army, as to not hit is own comrades in arms.

"Missiles away!" came the reply over the comm.

Long seconds past before streaks appeared in the sky. Three huge volleys of fragmentation missiles sped towards the rear of BobII's army. 50 feet above the ground, the missiles detonated, creating a killing rain of metal and fire. Huge chunks of BobII's army vanished in a bloody haze, sliced to pieces and burned to a crisp.

Following the missiles came a fleet of dropships. Toastburner had transported his army via Death's Sycthe to be able to use the dropships later. The dropships themselves were heavily armed, and rained cannon and missile fire onto the orcs and trolls. Side hatches opened, unleashing hundreds, if not thousands, of FLB drones. As they landed, their bottom hatches opened, unleashing another army of LKBs to reinforce the battered orignals.

Other, new bots were unleashed as well. Leafblower Killer Assault Robots, or LKARs, marched slowly onto the field. Much larger than their brethern, the LKARs resembled BattleMechs more than power armor. The LKARs ignored the orcs, and went straight for the trolls, plasma cannons and missiles roaring.

Toastburner turned. Between the combined armies and the calvinballers who had focused their attention on the battle, there was little else he could do.

Besides, something else demanded attention.

Toastburner walked over to Dragonsbane, his sycthe out read to deflect any attack Jada/BobII would launch.

"So...what do we do now?" Toastburner asked the mage.

Dragonsbane
10-19-2004, 11:23 AM
The Minirendirs fought valiantly, along with Dragonsbane's own legions of drow cavalry (riding giant lizards...horses don't like caves), but the trolls were too numerous. One by one, the valiant warriors were being slain.

Dragonsbane sighed, then began to chant, the aura of power around him increasing until he glowed like a newborn sun when viewed through Magesight.

Something tiny and black appeared in the midst of the already-battered troll army...then a titanic pulse of power rocked the very earth beneath their feet as it exploded outward, tearing the fabric of space and ripping them apart like tissue paper. Being trolls, the pieces would regrow, and so Dragonsbane cast his second spell.

"Immolate!"

Flame swept across the field, troll corpses catching like dried cedar. Soon, where an army had once stood, there was nothing but fire...

Finally hearing TB's question, the mage turned towards him and answered.

"That."

Toastburner B
10-19-2004, 12:37 PM
"While that was good work, I was talking about him." Toastburner said, using the reaper to point at the monsterous form of BobII. "If he has the power that he had before, combined with that of Jadarendir...we're in for it."

Finally, the BobII titan stirred, seemingly now at ease with his new powers. Toastburner tensed, ready to dodge out of the way of an attack. "Look, Dragonsbane, I know Jadarendir was your friend, but we don't have a choice. We have to take BobII down."

Toastburner looked back over at the towering fiend. "If we can even do that...

Dragonsbane
10-19-2004, 12:54 PM
"Possession plus Necromantic control...hmmm..." Dragonsbane said contemplatively, considering, "We need something to break the necromantic control...like a really powerful cleric, or DotD, then I can cast a spell to ward off the Possession."

An orc charged him, and he whipped his katana across its neck, continuing to consider the problem even as it fell, "Of course, there IS the small matter of keeping Bob from killing us all while DotD and myself cast our spells....think you can distract him?"

Jadarendir
10-19-2004, 01:22 PM
While they contemplated how to destroy BobII, they failed to notice that Jadarendir's screams had ceased.

He saw nothing. Not even blackness. A sight seen only by those who are dead. He knew that either they had killed him, or that BobII absorbed all of his power and killed him himself.

Either way, Jadarendir was yet again dead.

But it would be a long time before any of the allies would learn this.

Druid looked to DB and the others.

"I can break the control but it would almost be easier just to kill BobII and revive Jadarendir after. Jad's a demon isn't he? Theoretically once his spirit is free of BobII he should respawn in his home plane and even if he doesn't we could still ressurect him after he's free...."

"Whatever you decide to do, I will help."

Frustrated he turned to the nearest orc and plunged his hand into its chest, ripping its heart out. He looked to BobII.

"This is merely a taste of things to come......

Toastburner B
10-19-2004, 02:32 PM
"Well...technically, I suppose. From my understanding, you only respawn during a game. And I don't know about you guys, but I haven't seen or sensed the calvinball anywhere around here. So I don't know if Jada would respawn..."

Both DB and DoD were looked at Toastburner, somewhat annoyed.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. You guys go do your mage-y think stuff. I'll just go distract the most powerful being in the universe." Toastburner said.

He swung the reaper, creating a rift. He stepped through it, and appeared on a peak near the battlefield. He could still easily see BobII's monsterous form.

"Distraction..." Toastburner muttered, looking up at BobII. "Right."

"R-S-One-Seven, this is Tin-Can, do you copy?" Toastburner said into his radio.

"Loud and clear, Tin-Can." the Respawner XVII responded.

"I need you to activate the last-ditch code!"

"No...you can't be serious! You don't...you can't! We haven't even tested this yet!" the other voice said.

"I am, and I do! Activate the code! Form Toastburner-tron!" Toastburner cried triumphantly, fighting the urge to strike poses.

Anime-esque theme music blared in the background. From the battlefield, four LKARs suddenly took off, and changed configuration. Two transformed to look like arms, the others transformed to resemble legs. A dropship dipped down, also transforming. All five came together to form a humaniod machine, all while the triumphant anime music went on in the background.

Toastburner couldn't resist anymore. "Form feet and legs!" He declared as he flew over to the forming machine. "Form arms, and body!" A small compartment opened, and Toastburner flew in. He flicked a switch. "And I'll form, the head!"

Finally, the transformation was complete. "Go, Toastburner-tron!" Toastburner yelled.

The music began to skip, repeating the same notes over and over. Toastburner flicked the switch that he thought turned it off, but it just got louder, and began to reverberate inside his armor. "Owww!" Toastburner yelled as he flick the switch the other way, turning it back down.

As he landed, the special-effects sequence over, BobII hit him with a massive mace. Toastburner-tron fell over.

"Oowww..." Toastburner moaned inside the cockpit. "That never happened in the TV show..."

Toastburner quickly righted TB-tron. "Alright, Bob...prepare to face Toastburner-tron! Defender of...This General Area!"

G.I.R.
10-19-2004, 03:09 PM
Floating by on his flying pig-thing, G.I.R. spotting the fire and had to investigate. Perhaps there were tacos there. Upon arriving, G.I.R. was treated to waves and waves of death and destruction. So he laughed. He clapped his little metal hands together, opened the top of his head and pulled out a cupcake.

(Hope you don't mind me joining in)

OOC: Shouldn't be too big of a deal but we're past 100 posts which means endings are about to start.

Speaking of endings let me know when we're ready to do them, I've got one in the works.

Jadarendir
10-19-2004, 05:01 PM
Jada floated in nothingness, remembering what had brought him to his end. The most powerful spell in the known universe had reduced him to this. Now he was nothing. No more respawns, and far beyond ressurection. His body would never be found.

Then he saw death.

"Death!" he cried. "Release me from this place! There is turmoil on the Earth that can only be resolved with all the Calvinballers together!"

Death floated to Jada. "'Fraid not, little man. This is great for my business, this war. You're just one part of the puzzle. Soon all will come here and suffer under me!"

Jada, in his anger, decided to do something very foolish. "I challenge you to a duel, Death."

Death paused for a moment, then took his hood off. Somewhat resemblant of DoD, he brought out his rail gun. "What sort of challenge?"

"Physical," Jada said. "If I win, you send me back. If not, you can send me to the deepest level of Hell."

Death laughed. "To Hell with Hell! I know you've been there, and are stronger than any of its forces. If you lose, you stay here, alone... forever."

Jada hesitated for a moment, then smiled.

"Let's do this."

TD could not believe his eyes. Choas was swept over the field, with armies, black magic and other combatants desperetly trying to gain the upper hand. With Jada now gone, TD had to try one last move.
He grabbed his awesome spear, as did the rest of his army. Then he took hold of his sword and merged the two into an Elemental Gauntlent. The TD army lined up on the field, running towards the front lines. With the magical gauntlents, they prepared for the ultimate Thunder-doken. Before they fired, TD called to DB to help in the magical firepower.

Arhra
10-20-2004, 07:34 AM
Arhra had plans of his own. Though BobII was too powerful for him to defeat in this state, there was perhaps a way he could weaken him...

His steed flys above the battlefield, hovering above BobII. Then when Toasterburner-tron distracts BobII he sees his chance and leaps. Quite literally. He executes a perfect swan dive, his entropic blade held in front of him as he hurtles downards towards BobII. He impacts and then things get very strange, Arhra dissappearing into the monstrous form with barely a ripple.

Arhra floats in darkness. Chaos could go everywhere and now he was in a place where he could influence the battle. He wills the dakrness beneath him solid and around him the features of a city appear slowly fade into focus. He stands in a concrete park, surrounded on three sides by tall brick buildings with a chain-link fence blocking off the road. Also surrounding him are several BobII clones, all identically clad in dark glasses and suits. One of them steps fowards, "Mr Arhra, we've been expecting you."

Arhra replies, "You lie, you know that this has not been predicted. I am here because I choose to be. I am the One, the one who will kick all your sorry asses." The BobII clones look angry beofre they rush to the attack. Arhra leaps into the air, freezing for a moment before he snap kicks a BobII clone with each foot, sending them flying back into the others. They punch at him but he blocks them all, moving almost too fast to be seen. One does managed to land a blow though, a curiously slow looking strike that sends Arhra flying backwards. He crashes into a wall, leaving an impressive indent but he just gets back up and tears a sign out of the concrete ground, wielding the pole as a weapon. More BobII's pour forwards, Arhra sending them flying with mighty swings of the poles, sending one right up into the air and through a window, but still more pour forwards. Arhra fights on.

Jadarendir
10-20-2004, 08:51 AM
Before TD could finish his sentence, a very strange thing happened.

BobII suddenly lurched forward and then back. When he threw himself back, Masamune broke through the front of his armour from the inside, then was pulled back in. It broke through his back, then either side as well. Finally, A side swipe across the front freed Jadarendir from inside the beast. He leapt in front of the warriors, and collapsed.

As he struggled to stand, he raised a hand to BobII. The staff he held came to Jada's hand.

"This is mine."

And then he stood.

Toastburner B
10-20-2004, 10:21 AM
Toastburner was never one to miss an oppurtunity.

And, well, when you're fighting a mega-monster, having someone cut their way out of the monster's chest, thus greatly reducing the monster's power while leaving it in shock...you tend to follow up on something like that.

And Toastburner did. TB-Tron charged the the tottering from of BobII, and delivered a flurry of blows. Jab-jab-cross-jab-hook-jab-uppercut-jab-jab-hook-backhand-jumping roundhouse.

BobII, alreay weakened, went down, and, from the lost of Jadarendir's power, began to revert to his original size and shape.

Toastburner flicked another switch inside Toastburner-tron, then exited. The might robot broke back up into the four LKARs and the dropship that formed it. They were needed back at the battle.

Toastburner landed beside the other calvinballers. BobII, now his orignal form, stood, and faced the calvinballers.

"It's time to end this." Jadarendir said.

Jadarendir
10-20-2004, 11:29 AM
BobII's hideous laugh inspired fear in all on the field. He had not lost any of Jadarendir's power, after all. As he rose, he continued to grow in height. His power was growing tremendously, and none could know the reason. Even Death, who had been defeated at Jadarendir's hand, was nowhere near as fearsome as this horrible beast. Jadarendir turned to the others.

"When I say, hit him with everything," he said. "We live or we die here. Right now."

The others nodded. Jadarendir smiled for a moment, before his legs were snapped off his body by BobII's mace. Jada's upper body flew into the side of a cliff face, and he looked as if he were unconscious. As his legs rapidly grew back, he raised a hand. The others waited anxiously for the chance to strike, but they waited.

BobII walked slowly toward Jada, and raised his mace to crush him.

"NOW!" he cried, and got to his newly formed feet. He raised his staff and fired a beam of blue energy, hitting BobII in the face. His helmet melted, revealing his hideous face; but he did not die.

Thaumaturge
10-20-2004, 11:39 AM
Thaumaturge stepped forward, casting. From his hands streamed forth what seemed to be magic missiles, but each carried far more power than any ordinary magic missile. The intense blue missiles slammed into BobII, tearing at him, and still they streamed forth. But it was not enough, BobII was still too powerful...

Dragonsbane
10-20-2004, 11:42 AM
Dragonsbane nodded, "Some things are almost unkillable, even when destroyed. The body can be obliterated, but the sentience remains...eventually finding a new body and returning to power. This thing we fight is one of those. To kill him, we must wipe his mind from the universe."

He reached into the pocket of his robes, and pulled out...the Calvinball. He held out his hand, palm facing toward BobII, the Calvinball floating a few inches in front of his hand. He chanted words of power, words that had existed even before he was born, energy coruscating around his arm and hand, pouring into and out of the Calvinball. The orb began to glow, charging up.

"Distract him...I only need another second." DB said through gritted teeth as he focused his power through the Calvinball.

CheshireThief
10-20-2004, 11:48 AM
By sheer act of the Plot Device, when Dragonsbane said, "Distract him," CheshireThief and the Army of Amazons appeared. "Sorry I'm late, I've been a bit... umm... 'busy' if you know what I mean." He winked. He then turned to face BobII. CheshireThief took the guitar off of his back. When revealed, it was the legendary IBANEZ. He smiled, and the Plot Device hooked him up with the world's largest speaker stack, almost as tall as the Towers themselves. Pick in hand, CheshireThief yelled through a microphone, "Amazons! Attack!" He began playing... the song... the song... "Welcome to the Jungle" as his Amazons began their approach. He silently willed a message to Dragonsbane, I hope this is a good enough distraction. Those Amazons aren't cheap, you know.

Jadarendir
10-20-2004, 12:19 PM
OOC: Alright, time to start wrapping up. Here's my idea for an ending.

IC:

As DB attempted to destroy the mind of BobII, he failed to notice that he was about to be assaulted by a legion of trolls and a couple of orcs. Jadarendir saw, and made his staff a bow, armed with a full quiver of etherial arrows. He shot four at a time, quickly disposing of the enemies. But he missed one.

The last troll brought his axe down hard on DB's shoulder. DB started bleeding heavily from the shoulder, but dismissed the assault as nothing more than a nuisance. He swung his hand back, and beheaded the troll in a single motion. The loss of blood started to effect him quickly, and he got dizzy.

Thaumaturge saw this, and continued to launch magic missile-like strikes. TD also pitched in, commanding his army to use Thunder-doken against BobII. They all struck different points, but the enemy would not die.

Almost everyone else on the field was dead or unconscious, save for CheshireThief, who was watching his Amazons attack BobII as well. The attack was going fine, until the mace swung yet again. Many soldiers were swept out of existence in the blink of an eye. It seemed hopeless; how do you destroy the indestructible opponent?

Jada knew the answer: you give him what he wants, and more than he can handle.

Jada leapt onto BobII's giant back, which was now almost as big as Mount Me itself. He climbed all the way to the top, dodging arrows from the leftover trolls and orcs. He reached the back of the helmet and stabbed deep with Masamune. BobII still did not die.

Jada took his staff and jabbed it into BobII's brain. It glowed and power surged into it. Jadarendir knew that every being has a limit, and BobII had almost reached it. All that was needed to destroy him was to exceed it.

BobII continued to grow, but then he screamed and before any could realize, he exploded. The brightness of the explosion had NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE.

Jadarendir fell to the ground, landing on his spine. When the other players attempted to see if he was alright, they all suddenly disappeared. The field resetted, and they were returned, in top shape.

Welcome back to the game.

THE END

Thaumaturge
10-20-2004, 12:55 PM
OOC:Hmm... very well, here's my stab at ending this:

IC:
Thaumaturge dropped his attack in disgust, the magic doing nothing to stop BobII. Perhaps he could not be stopped. Perhaps this was the end. Perhaps... but wait... Even a thing which cannot be killed can be beaten, if it can be imprisoned... He hurried over to Dragonsbane. "Quickly! Can you use your mind-magics to contact the other players?" Dragonsbane nodded, and Thaumaturge explained the message that he wanted sent.

Thauamturge ran towards BobII, casted Flight, and shot up to the level of BobII's eyes. "I can defeat you!" He taunted. "I know how to circumvent your power!"
BobII swatted at the annoyance, but Thaumaturge evaded the hand easily, darting back. Enraged, BobII advanced on the flying mage, but still Thaumaturge retreated.

Thauamturge looked down. Everything was in place. "NOW!" he called out. Dragonsbane began to chant, and soon everyone had picked up the refrain. BobII looked around, to find that he had been lured into a circle of his foes, and as they chanted, magic began to swirl within the circle. BobII tried to break through, but it was too late, the circle was complete, and neither he nor Thaumaturge would be leaving the circle until the spell was complete. Dragonsbane began a second chant while the others continued the first, and the fabric of reality began to tear around the massive form of BobII. The air rippled and shimmered, light and dark flaring in the rent. Finally Dragonsbane shouted a single Word of Command, and the rent opened fully, BobII hurtling through, carried by the inter-planar pressures. The rent closed behind him, sealing shut, locking BobII between worlds, neither here nor there, able to affect nothing.

Thaumaturge floated in the inter-planar gulf. No sight, no sound, no touch, no smell reached his senses. And yet... there was a flickering in the depths, as CheshireThief entered using the Plot Device. He took hold of Thaumaturge, activated the device, and the pair reappeared on the Calvinball field, where Thaumaturge promptly collapsed.

Dragonsbane
10-20-2004, 01:37 PM
*following Thaumaturge's ending, concerning what happened to Dragonsbane*

Dragonsbane shrugged, "If he comes back, we'll be ready for him..." sheathing his katana, he disappeared.

Cheshire Thief returned to his "recreations" with the Amazons, and Thaumaturge was swiftly revived...the other Calvinballers all prepared for the next game, or just did whatever, as usual.

In a floating castle somewhere on another plane, a fortress in the midst of a vast emptiness, the air flickered. A familiar, black-eyed archmage reappeared behind his desk in a lavishly appointed room, walls lined with bookshelves, and thick carpets covering the floor. Sitting back in his comfortable chair, Dragonsbane laughed...even as he drew the Calvinball from his pocket.

"No one can keep you for long, my troublesome little friend...so I might as well end this on my terms." he smiled, opening a portal to some random plane...and tossing it through. Looking down at a crystal orb on his desk, suspended in a runesilver frame, the archwizard watched the writhing, ghostly form trapped within, "BobII...you and I have much to discuss..." he grinned, the look on his face as cruel as an Archdevil, "very much to discuss..."

The End...until next game!

Toastburner B
10-20-2004, 01:54 PM
((OOC: My rather long ending.))

Between CTs jamming, and the attacks of the amazons, BobII was properly distracted.

Meanwhile, Toastburner and the other calvinballers were holding off the final charge of the trolls, coming to aid their master. While powerful, they were nothing to calvinballers. Toastburner hadn't realized how far he had come until he used the sycthe to cut them down like wheat. Jadarendir fought with a revengence. DoD used his powers to raise the trolls as they were slain, adding to the numbers of the calvinballer armies even as BobII's armies went down. The minirendir, at the return of their master, fought like dragons.

Still, they were an endless tide. Only the best warriors of each of the armies were left, and they formed a protective inner barrier around Dragonsbane. Any troll that got past the calvinballers had to deal with the best the minirendir, dragoons, undead, robots, and dragons had to offer.

Finally, Dragonsbane chanting came to a climax. Shouting the final words of the spell, Dragonsbane unleashed his blast, a soul-scourging blaze that burned away spirit as well as flesh. Toastburner watched as the azure beam shot towards BobII, turning away only long enough to decapiate a troll charged him.

BobII reached out his hand, and the attack struck it.

The flash was blinding, even to Toastburner and his optic filter. The world became white. Toastburner heard the trolls cry out in pain, their eyes not used to such brilliance.

The light faded...to reveal BobII still standing, his arm slowly regenerating.

Dragonsbane fell to his knees, both from exhaustion and shock. "It didn't work..." he mummered in awe.

Toastburner didn't have time to think about it. The trolls, seeing their master still standing, redoubled their attack. BobII began an attack of his own, killing amazons by the dozen. Despite the best efforts of the calvinballers, trolls slowly began to pass them. Too many. The battered warriors of the armies couldn't hold them all off. They sped towards Dragonsbane.

Suddenly, the armies of the allies expanded. Through the power of the Plot Device, all the warriors who had plegded themselves to the fall of BobII appeared. Argent Lord and his silver dragon riders. SAAM and his army of SAAMs. Saiyaman and his dragons. Highonpawns and his forces. All suddenly appeared, and increased the power of the allied army tenfold. The trolls, suddenly overwhelmed, tried to fall back, but ran into the calvinballers. They were dispatched quickly.

The minor battle in hand, the calvinballers gathered. Toastburner called over all his FLB drones to by time by distracting BobII...who must be getting really tired of being distracted by now.

"The soul burn didn't work." Dragonsbane stated. "BobII's body is to strong, I couldn't reach his soul."

Toastburner thought about the problem for a second.

"Could you cast another?" Toastburner asked softly.

Dragonsbane noddedly slowly. "Yes. I won't have anything left after, however."

Toastburner nodded slightly, as if processing the information. "Would the Soul Burn work if it hit his soul directly?"

The others looked surprised. Toastburner held up the reaper. "With this, I can create a rift to anywhere. Using the Plot Device, we should be able to make it work."

Jadarendir nodded. "It could work. If we can enter BobII soul, deliver the blast, we could end this once for all."

Dragonsbane nodded. "Right. Jadarendir, Toastburner, Thaumaturge, ChesireThief, and myself will go. The rest of you will rally the armies and keep BobII occupied."

They all agreed, as the others left, CT attached the Plot Device to the reaper. "Okay, that should do it."

Toastburner swung the reaper, and the rift appeared.

They entered.

Oddly enough, BobII soul looked like a city. Populated with BobII clones. The calvinballers had appeared in the middle of Arhra's battle. The Bobs attacked. Again, the others formed a line around Dragonsbane to protect him as he prepared the Soul Burn.

"We'll need to leave before the spell is cast." Dragonsbane said. "If we stay to long, we'll die when his soul ceases to exist. So, I'll have to make it a Delayed Soul Burn. Hopefully, it should work."

"If it doesn't?" ChesireThief asked.

"Then we'll have fused the calvinball with BobII...making him even more powerful. God-like." Dragonsbane said.

"Then it better work." Jadarendir said.

Dragonsbane began to chant. The Bobs, seemingly to sense the purpose of this invasion, began to attack more fiercely. Still, they couldn't break past the calvinballers. Toastburner sliced them with the reaver. Jada maimed them with his sword. Thaumaturge destroyed them with magic. ChesireThief blew them away with powerful wails on his guitar. Arhra continued his kung-fu moves.

Finally, Dragonsbane yelled. "It's done! We have to get out now."

With that, he teleported. Those who could teleport themselves followed. Toastburner created a rift for those who couldn't. All escaped.

Suddenly with foes, the Bob clones walked over to the ball. They had seen the ball before, threads and threads ago, but...it was changed somewho.

They didn't remember a countdown reflecting inside the ball.

3...2...1...

To those outside, it seemed as though BobII froze. Mid swing, he stopped, his mouth hanging open in shock. Then, he groaned in pain, unimagable pain, as the blast burned away his soul from the inside out. Be began to contort. His torso sunk inward, followed by the rest of his body, as if being sucked down a hole. With a finally roar of fury and pain, BobII disappeared.

The calvinball fell to the ground, shining blue in the darkness.

Cheers erupted from the surviving alliance troops. With the defeat of BobII, his forces fled.

The party went into the night. Minirendir shared tales of battle with Drow. Dragoons attempted to flirt with amazons, but failed miserably. Spiders did a conga line with robots.

Outside the camp, the calvinballers stood around the ball.

"So...what now?" Toastburner asked.

"You ask that alot, you know." ChesireThief said.

"The Soul Burn left BobII empty, creating a vaccuum effect. The calvinball amplied that effect, sucking in BobII body and whatever was left of his soul." Dragonsbane said.

"So...is he gone for good?" Druid of the Dead asked.

"I don't know." Dragonsbane said. "What was left of him is sealed inside the ball. As long as calvinball exists...BobII should not be a threat."

Toastburner looked around the gathering. He sighed as he realized when next they met, they would be foes battling for the ball.

"So...who wants to win?" Toastburner asked.

"I think we'll call this one a draw." Jadarendir said. He stuck his hand out, over the ball. One by one, the other calvinballers added their hands, and, as one, they claimed the ball, which vanished.

Dragonsbane sighed. "If anyone claims I ever did something that cheesey, I'll deny it."

"Me, too." Thaumaturge said. "Can't be an evil overlord and be cheesey at the same time."

Jadarendir rolled his eyes. Toastburner laughed.

"Well, we still have a while until the next game." ChesireThief said. "Might as well enjoy the party until then, right?"

Everyone nodded, and began to walk back to party, until the next game begun.

The End

OOC: My ending. Here goes.

IC:

Jada had re-emerged and with the mighty Masamune in hand, nobody could stop them. BobII grinned and stared at the challenge. The leaders, Jada, TD, DB, CT, TB, Thaumaturge and Athra stood at the front on the line, staring at BobII. BobII rose into the air and dark energy swiftly gathered into him, expanding his size, into the clouds. His army, slowly dissipated into him, feeding his ever growing power.
The TD army was about to unleash their Thunder-doken, but quickly recoiled.
"I'll pose as a distraction as the rest of you purge the world of this being!" TD yelled. The other nodded.
TD rose up and summoned all his strength and the rest of the TD's rose as well. TD grew with the others power and towered up into the clouds to match BobII.
Using TB different machines, he quickly constructed a sword to match BobII. And then the fight began.
TD lashed against BobII, giving the rest time to act. Jada, DB and Thaumaturge rose into the air, flying towards BobII's abdomen. CT quickly pulled out his plot device and got potions and materials to feed the others the power they needed.
TB and Athra assembled their armies and took on the armies below, to help get rid of BobII's power supply.
DB quickly analyzed BobII and found several weaknesses they could exploit.
"HURRY!" TD boomed.
BobII was not going down easily.
Jada and Thaumaturge quickly used Masamune's power to it's fullest extent. While Thaaymaturge summoned it's inert power, Jada struck repeatedly at BobII, draining power of the evil power.
"NOOOOOO!!!!" was all that BobII could cry.
BobII reversed back to his normal size, awaiting the calvinballers back down below.
They lashed upon his already torn body, and winced with every strike.
TD lumbered over BobII.
"Good-bye, BobII." TD boomed.
TD stepped on BobII and Jada and DB quickly erradicated the remains into mere nothingness.
The battle had finally ended.
The grungy land they were in reverted back into a grassy green field, with a gentle breeze.
An omninous ball floated in the center of the field.
"Race ya for it!" the reverted TD said to Jada.
The game was now on.

End!

Okay, here's mine.

BobII was obliterating the calvinballer's armies. As his mace swung, amazons and zombies flew. The attacks from the calvinballer's were having no visible effect.

Jadarendir charged forward with the masamune. He lept at BobII only to be swatted aside against a nearby rock wall. Jad slumped down as BobII turned to him. BobII raised his mace to strike, but Jadarendir came to at the last second and swung with the masamune severing BobII's wang.

Lines of light began dissecting BobII's massive body and then he exploded. The shockwave knocked everyone off their feet and the army of BobII fell. As the calvinballer's recovered they saw Jadarendir slowly get up.

"He's gone......"

No one was positive as to whether or not BobII was gone for good but they knew he may still pose a threat in the future, and if he did return.......they would be waiting.

OOC: I don't have the patience to read TB's, but I'm sure it's just super.

OOC: I go with Toastburner's ending. That was just super. It tied into my plan too which makes me happy.

As the party goes on Arhra is secretly pleased with himself. The Calvinball's banishment had been influenced by him and when it reappeared it would be in the place where he had intended it to be. Though it would travel by circuititous paths and be slow in the coming it would appear in the one place he could take the most advantage of it. Still, that was for the next game and he wasn't going to allow plans for the duture to interfer with the present. Arhra settles back and enjoys the party.
